as a hardcore SQ guy I wanna try some new things for the next show. I want to be able to black all the windows out(pyscho-acustics) so the judges can't locate any of the drivers....I don't want it to look bad(towels and such) any ideas? I do wanna keep it as cheap as I can too but totally black the car out.

I built 2 boxes lately and I will be doing a 3rd soon, and I love buying tools so I "need" a router. I dont want to spend an arm and a leg, but I will spend what is required to have a decent setup(not harbor freight). I want to be able to do speaker hole cut outs with it, round the edges of the box and ports, and anything else that is usefull. Im not sure what bits I would need either, I was thinking 3 one to make cut outs, one for rounded edges, and one to flush mount on a double baffle. Also I think I need the jasper circle jig unless there is a better/cheaper alternative.

  10. I'll use REW on my laptop. My question is can I use the omni directional microphone that came with my Kicker keysmart amp that is used to auto tweak it's built in DSP? My second question. I've never used REW before. Any tips/suggestions for the best settings/methods to measure my car's accoustics? Also should I turn off my Keysmart amp's DSP features first or will it matter? I just want a graph to see where the peaks and dips are in my frequency response. Final question. Can I measure for cancellation issues using REW?

so i was thinking about getting a ssd 15 for christmas but i didnt wanna wait that long so i started looking for a job haha. anyways i was thinking that if i get a job i could get 2 ssd 12s and a saz-1500. would that be a good set up? also i was thinking about buying one ssd 12 when i get some money and run her off my alpine mrp-m500 and then get the amp and other sub later. i heard that the alpine mrp-m500 is not good for a sub because it has a set subsonic filter at 15hz so could that amp hurt that sub?

i have been on this forum and looking around at other guys cars/trucks. they all seem to get one subwoofer say a 12/15 inch woofer and on the videos they are flexing like crazy the roof of the car the trunk side windows and so on. they put a 2000-3000 watt sundown on it what im getting at why not get woofers that take less watts like 4 or 8 subwoofers that take lets say 150-200 watts rms per subwoofer and use less watts from your amp and your alternator and that should get way more output from like 1100 watts from your amp then getting a big 3500 watt monster that will pull 350 amps on one subwoofer and make your volts drop in low 11s im not trying to start a war just …

Sorry if this is the incorrect thread. But I wasn't sure where to put it. Ok here we go. I'm planning on upgrading a lot of the parts on my car to Carbon fiber. my question since I don't have a lot of experience is, would it be a bad idea to install a Carbon fiber Hatch on my car? The reason I'm asking is because I am unsure of the strength of carbon fiber. I don't want to put it on, just to have my system shatter or crack it or something.

So I've got a few more options for you guys to run through with me. I'm attempting to reuse a lot of my old system so I don't have to go through the ordeal of selling it all and rebuying most of it. So here's where I stand so far: 7" Mids one of the following choices: Seas W18EX-001 Seas W18NX-001 Peerless XG18WH00 Tweets I'll be re-using my Aurasound silk 1" tweets Amps I was going to go with DLS, but I have a Monitor 1 combo I want to try and use - Monitor 1 Mk4.70 for tweets and mids (with matching MX-1 crossover) - Need a sub amp (300w @ 4ohm minimum) Head Unit something with DVD playback capabilities. Since I'll be using an active crossover already, I don't really …

  20. This truck was owned/built/operated by my good friend since, 2003. I've been a part of it, since 2008. Has seen MANY, MANY builds. Truck hasn't been under a 160 in almost 10 years at this point. I have the chance to buy it, and bring it back into the game. It's NOT, the prettiest, but I'll be cleaning it up alot. And I'll get it louder than it ever was before. Last setup was 4 DD 9918' Super Charged on 4 DD M4's with 8 NSB 90's. Burped at 162.2@51Hz with 16,000w Street Beated 159.9 dropping to 11v Also did, 159.0@25Hz 159.7@28HZ And 160+ from 30Hz-60Hz My plan is 4 DD9918' Super Charged on 4 M4b's with 4 XS Power Lithium 12v batts. I will be taking delivery of…

I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction. Forgive me...I'm not very knowledgeable about this stuff. I have a 2001 Chevy S10 ZR2 (4X4) I ordered off Crutchfield and they sent me my new Sony Digital Media player and a wire adapter kit. The problem is it appears to be the wrong adapter. Crutchfield only has one option for my year and make and it's that one http://www.crutchfie...ss.html?tp=2977 My GM factory plug looks like this... Next part. I start to drive off without the original factory stereo plugged in and got about a mile down the road before it started dieing on me. I deduced that this truck must have some kind of security protection (I have no clue)…

  23. I've been searching for the past hour. And I have found many tones, but they're all protected by Quick Time Player and I can't download them! I've tried google, and I've tried searching the forums here, but I get seemingly random results that have nothing to do with the words I entered into the search... Does anyone know where I can find an mp3 of a 50 hz sine wave that I can download for free? (I'm also looking for 30 hz, 70 hz, 100 hz, 150 hz, and 200 hz.) I'm sorry I fail at the internet

Ok so I have a "brilliant" idea. I just picked up a Kicker KX3 crossover for cheap with no idea what to do with it really. Well I got to thinking. It has two inputs (front/rear) and three outputs (front/rear/sub). Now then, I have a 2005 Ranger ext. cab I just got for my DD. I am in the process of collecting parts for some form of audio install in it. I was thinking I could ditch the 6x8's in the doors for some 4"'s or 5 1/4"'s mount some tweets on the sail panels, and some 6 1/2"'s in the kicks. Could I use this crossover to do an "active" set up? I have some MLI65's laying around I could use for the kicks. What would be some good compliments to these. And then theres th…
