I've got a leftover system that was in my truck, that I'm going to be putting into my car. I'm not sure what the general opinion on my equipment is, though....I've got a Phoenix Gold Octane R DVC 12" sub, in a ported box right now (tuned to 37hz), and a Audio Systems Twister F4>380 4-channel amp. (http://www.audiosystem-america.com/f4380.html) What are your guys' opinion on this? I'm not sure of the RMS of the sub, so would it be safe to bridge 2 channels for each coil, or should I just run it as a 4-channel amp? If I do that, then I can also use it to power a set of door speakers.

I have my amp mounted to the back of my box. It's mounted so that the bottom of my amp is screwed to the back of the box. Is this bad? I was told by a guy yesterday that it can cause internal issues with the amp. Any input?

I was debating on buying a refurb or not. Db-r has some good deals, but being that they are rebuilt by db-r and not sundown, i was kinda iffy if the build quality would be the same. Maybe its just me but when i hear refurb, i think defected product that will probably break again. They do have a 1 year warranty which is helps. I guess im just looking for a little input on what everyone thinks about refurbs. Thanks

pro60 crossover, the bass from the 15" treo ssx did this...i just soldered it back on, tested it, it worked, put my door panel back on, and it broke again. only the tweet plays. i think it came loose when i shut my door. i guess im gonna have to relocate the crossovers......which means running more wire....

So i came across this amp and its 260 3200 rms @ 1 ohm....Is it to ood to be true or what? has dual 1/0 inputs and 5x40 amp fuses. so like 2500 rms but still for 260 thats a steal! i think i might try em out...

Ok I promised a tuturial on how to package a heavy item so here it is. I recently had a pair of Shocker Sig Motors ( 80lbs Each) shipped to me. I explained to the shipper my technique and once again it worked flawlessly. Motors before shipment First thing you need to do is locate a box that is around 2-3 inches larger than the item you are packaging all the way around. Then you stuff the bottom of that box with a layer of foam pool floats (yes the kind like this) after stuffing the bottom full of noodles sit the item you are shipping in the box and fill the sides with pieces of foam. Im thinking about doing a system in our 03 Explorer and wated some input on what issues you have ran into with these. I bought my wife a 2012 Cruze so now the explorer is sitting and Im biting at the bit to do something with it lol. I bought a dcon 12 before I switched cars. I want to put the sub in a ported box, the site recomends 1.75 cubes but has anyone had success going smaller? Reason being I need to put things in the trunk from time to time as well as have access to the spare tire. If need be I was considering reconing the sub to a 10, but I'd really prefer not too as the sub has never been used. If it matters the sub would be recieving 350 rms. Thanks!

i have like 3 inches to play with.... this shit sucks.... no way these 8's are going in the damn doors, and i was looking at some cdt comps.. but they dont list depth! im sure its more then 3 inches for a 6.5 mid sub so now what do i do .... does anyone know of a great pair or comps in a 6.5 that will fun 200$ or so?

i have a 2000 ford taurus with a 1500w rms powerbass amp and two 12" kicker cvx's. does anyone have any experience with the taurus for bass? basically i am wondering how involved it would be to upgrade the + wire from my 130 amp alternator (my lights dim and voltage drops), and how well the car handles bass. i am trying to decide whether or not to dynamat extreme the trunk.

Hello all, i have a large project on my hands. I've been commisioned(somewhat) to build a box for a 12" Orion H2. Now, the box is gonna be 2.5 cubes tuned to 32 hz. Now, for those of you who own mustangs, you know how small the trunk opening is(this kid has a mustang cobra, not the newest body style, but one from probably the late '90s) and i just need all the tips i can get on putting this box in. Most likely i'm going to have to build it IN the trunk, so any tips will be greatly appreciated. Unless you guys know of another way to get a box big enough in there. Okay 2 DEI Viper Dual 4 ohm 12" subs ported box, tuned to 28 htz. And neither on the back seat nor in the trunk with the seat folded down, I still can't get over a 141. I got a 140.3 the 1st time with shittier subs, and a sealed box..............and running the amp only @ 2 ohms not 1 like today...........But that Was in a Mountaineer............Anyways after I got 2 CRX style boxes from Kurt I was able to do a 144.4 from the back seat. Thew boxes wouldn't fit in the trunk which rots. I am going to Competiton this Sunday in Rochester and then again Sept. 11th in Limestone, NY. Hopefully I can place in Advanced NW this weekend and place in the 1-306 class later on........…
