I am looking into the possible carrer of building speakers and audio equipment. Nick, Jake, Where did you guys go to school after high school to learn how to do all this audio greatness. I dont have a clue where to start looking. I think maybe electrical engineering, but maybe there is a specialty school or something. Let me know anything would be appreciated. Thanks, Steve

A gremlin that ive experienced once before, and that disappeared on its own before, is back and making me a bit furious. Lows are diminished, kind of loose and hollow sounding. The higher notes are overly strong and seemingly impervious to lpf settings, have a sort of trembling effect to them too. Lower notes often come thru with an initial high note hit thats very pronounced and then goes into the actual note that should be playing but weak and with that "trembling" type effect mentioned earlier. Sub: Fi BL 18 with flatwind and p chamfer Amp: Hifonics bxi2006d (again, its not sundown or anything, but it should get the job done for now and even if it is overrated, i think 1800 should push a bl just fine. System I am planning to power. Sundown SAZ-1500D Sundown SAX-100.4D I have a 08 Hyundai Elantra and unfortunately I am hard time finding a reliable high output alternator. My vehicle has a factory 90 amp alternator. I am contacting Mr.Alternator to see what my options are. Any suggestions? I am thinking about using a Kinetik HC 1400 as the primary battery and a Kinetik HC 600 in the trunk near the amps. What size battery isolator should I use? Where should I put the battery isolator? What gauge wire should I use between batteries and isolator? BTW I plan on using all Stinger power wires, connectors and battery isolator. Thanks

I have a buddy that has a Bonneville with 2 15" Memphis power reference subs and a crappy "1920 watt" power akustik amp. He is trying to upgrade to either 2 better 15s or 3 12s... but he only wants to spend $1000. Do you guys think he could buy something louder than what he already has for that much?(he only needs subs and amp)

My friend was looking at simply buying one of these in order to recieve "more" power to his speakers. He has a 4 channel Polk Audio amp in the back, that is running a 12 bridged off of two channels, and the other 2 channels are hooked onto some random 6x9's he has. The amp is 800 watts x 4 channels at 4 ohms. I told him, that I have a amp he could buy for the sub itself, and use the amp for his front and rear stages. He has a H/O Alt on a 1988 Camaro with a red-top ultima battery. Do you think it would be worth spending about a hundred and twenty dollars to buy this "power brick"? Just ordered a Sundown Audio SAE 1200d. Finally after 2 months

I know the big 3 can't hurt, but I'm on a super tight budget. I have a nissan maxima which apparently has a 100amp alternator. My set up includes a D-class mono amp that is rated at 340rms at 4ohms. I'll also be running a set of front components off an A/B two channel that does 100rms per channel at 4ohms. So playing it safe and rounding up, thats about 600rms total. Is it worth it to do the big 3? I was considering doing it in 4g, or just waiting to do it when I get more money down the road after a few month. I just dont want any heavy voltage drop or headlight dimming. What do you think? Thanks!

i have about 1200 watts on the system and the oem alternator i think is 80 amps. i want to get an extra battery in the trunk. i can either get the kinetik hc800 or the hc1400. i do not know if my stock alternator will be able to handle the battery under the hood and the hc1400. i can buy the 1400 from a friend for about 140 so its a good deal. but im afraid that my alternator will die if i use the hc1400 instead of the hc800. does anyone know if i could go with the hc1400? o and i also have a H/O alternator with 130amps but i dont know if it actually does more than stock at idle so i dont know if the h/o alternator would be any better at powering the extra hc1400. any hel…

hi all i am going to be competing for the first time and was wondering what class i should run. i am going to using my fi x 12 in a 6th order bp which is 3.5 cubes a chamber and will be pushing 200w rms to it. also i have a kicker zx 1500 that i just aquired and was thinking of using it at 8 oms on the x so that should roughly be about 375wto 400w rms but was wondering if they would make me run a higher class since that amp can put out 1500w even though i would have it putting out around 400 since it would be at 8 ohms

I'm thinking of a pair of W6v2 13.5's sealed. Would a Sundown SAE-1000D be proper to power a pair of those? It's going in a 2006 Corolla Type S. Right now I have a ported Icon 15 powered by a JBL GTO 1201.1 II amp that puts out 1100 watts at 2 ohms and a Batcap 800. I want to switch my system up to a sealed setup and think the W6v2s sound awesome. So I'm going sell my amp in favor of the SAE-1000D and do the big 3 and replace the Batcap 800 with the one of the bigger Odyssey drycell batteries and a solenoid. I want to use the line out from an Alpine MRP F300 amp to temporarily (1-2mos.) power a mono amp for subs until I get a head w/sub pre-outs. Any suggestions for a good reasonably priced one. This is very temporary. Also, will doing this affect the 4-channel speaker outs of the amp?

Hi guys, new here but been running Sq for a while. I currently have an Sq 3.0 12" and a Sq mono 1200w amp. I'm about to purchase a twin amp and hook them together. My sub is 1 ohm. They way I understood it that running both amps in parallel would keep it a 1 ohm load from both amps. I would like to see a wire diagram on were to run the speaker wire from each amp plz and thank you.

I'm ordering comps for my front stage along with a amp, not sure what I should be looking at for quality though. If I put comps up front can I keep my 6.5 coax in the back and just run a 4 channel amp to the 6.5's and the fronts? Would that sound right? Trying to keep it under 250 for comps and amp
