This seemed like an appropriate place to put this, sorry if its not. I would like to get recommendations on good installers in the central/north central Ohio area. I want to talk to someone about my custom glass enclosure I plan to build, see how feasible it is or possibly have the shop do it if I think it's too much for me to handle. I really want someone who can teach a bit here. Not just looking to make a sale, someone I can talk to. Any ideas?

  4. I am getting ready to do a full install on my trailblazer SS. Its currently just stock Bloes system with factor 6disc in dash. I am planning on running an Eclipse 726E for the HU and from there is where i'm not sure. I auditioned a car yesterday with Mclass Memphis MCC6. It had some great puch to it when every you would hear the drummer hit the bass pedal. It was not coming from the sub as much as it was coming from the woofers in the doors and the rear deck lid. He has his running off of a JBL MS-8. I am sold on the MS-8, that really blew me away. Well, I had wanted to run Focal 165 KR2's, but got to listen to a set of Kr2P's today that didnt do much for me, but the way …

  8. I'm looking for the best way to make the audio inside quieter on the outside. if that makes sense... I want to isolate the sound so with the windows up you cant hear the music playing inside as easily. Right now im trying to focus on the midrange as that seems to be the "worst". I currently have the midrange in the stock location with damp covering 95% of both door panels. Right now im building door pods but the midrange is still going to be IB so that should help somewhat but not as well as a sealed pod. Do you think adding second skin overkill to the outer door panel would help at all? any other ideas?

Recently got a new car and i'm going to have this one for a long time. So i'm looking for a nice headunit. I've been looking into the double din types e.g. the pioneer D3, or Z2. Or the panasonic Strada. or whatever. I'm leaning more towards the pioneers because i can get them for cheap. Or possibly a JVC only problem is the jvc doesn't have navigation like the rest. Any suggestions guys??

i guess should post here. i want something LOUD and i want a ported box. im not really concerened too much about sound quality as much as just solid pounding bass. i wanna run at least 1500-2000w rms to both of them. i aint cheap so let me know what some options may be...and if this is too vague tell me and ill try and elaborate more. i was going to go with 2 mtx 9512's...but for the price, they dont seem worth it to me...im sure theres better out there for much cheaper. lemme know...thanks

  15. I really cant decide between running 3 6.5's per door or running 3 8's per door. I think the 8's would give a more "full" sound with better midbass. Im still considering running all Crescendo front stage since I have 2 8's in the garage and also have 2 tweeters already. I also already have 2 Rockford 6.5's. So I'm torn which way to go 3 - 8in Crescendo PWX's and 2 FT1 super tweeters per door. or 3 - 6.5in Rockford Punch Pro and 2 PP8-T super tweeters per door. I could do 2 mids and 1 tweeter per door but not sure if it will keep up at 155db+ of bass and I only want to do the doors once. Crescendo's are very heavy, large magnet, 4in deep and the FT1's are relatively…

  17. temporary setup consists of a pioneer 880 that ive had for years and never had a problem with, never had to do the ghetto "grounding the RCA's" thing, etc. knu konceptz RCA's that ive never had trouble with either. well i took out my mtx 2ch amp the other day to cover the back of the wall in the MINI. it was working when i took it out. i put it back in last night becuase i was driving around with no music, and i turn on the radio and theres like a loud kind of static noise and a little clicking out of both speakers. i start the engine and theres a chit TON of engine noise. sounds like my speakers are turbo'd or something lol. i mean its LOUD. im like chit, the mtx amp fin…

my friend is on the verge of purchasing two pioneer competition woofers. the 2kw rms ones, and most likely, two t20001bd amps. that, or, two 1500d's (i am trying to push him towards sundown, hear alot of good stuff from the customers). how would you guys recommend we prepare his WRX for competition? it is a monster of of the RF 200.2 we put in this weekend, and we are almost afraid of 20 times the power. his trunk is shaped in such a way that it is a vented box, inside of a vented box. it has a little passage thingy into the cabin that it pushes the air through, it sounds quite good, (when i can keep him from cranking it up and clipping it) finally got the measurements b…

Since I got some time and a little money (very little) on my hands I really want to start tinkering with something so I am going to add a substage to my truck. First off my goals are to add a substage to take some pressure off the front stage and overall, make my system better sounding. I plan on running a Mach 5 MAW-10 with a Rockford Fosgate P325.1 amp in a sealed box (up or downfire) in an extended cab. I have set my budget at 220 dollars for everything including box supplies, distribution blocks, and extra wire. The budget really may be hard to not break but its all I can afford for a while. I saw a MAW-10 used for $40, shipped on the forums here but noticed the threa…

this might come off as stupid on my part and im just trying to learn as much as i can so please no hate but why does when somebody ask about two different subs people always say there way different goals but theres only 3 goals that i know of deep sq or spl and when you say you want a sub that does one of those people say its 99.9 percent the build if thats true shouldnt you just get the sub with the most motor force and just build the box for what you want

Alright, i'm running a fosgate p450.4 bridged on a set of polk db comps, and a fosgate p1000-1bd (1230 at 1 ohm out of the box). My alty went out shortly before I put in the new system, so I upgrade to a 130 amp alternator, if i had more money at the time would have went larger. I also got an optima yellow-top. My lights are dimming like mad, and the sub is running a little warm, it's a 15" Q with bp power so i know i'm not over-driving it. i'm guessing lucky to get 900 watts to it after voltage loss. I know i need to upgrade and should add a second battery so here's the real question... It was my thought that optima yellow-top's were basically the best battery out t…
