Whats up all! I am about to purchase build new system and I am starting with the low end. I want great sound quality, reliability and lots of output! Big 3 (Optima 750CCA and factory 90amp alternator) Alpine CDA-9887 Alumapro Cap5 V2 I dont know which amp yet but I have it narrowed down to these two choices Sundown SAZ-1500D US Amps 400DE I think I am going with one 15" subwoofer and I have narrowed it down to these three choices RE SX15 Fi BTL 15 SSA XCON 15D2 What amp and sub combo do you think would be best? All three subs seem great and both amps are excellent, any advice?

I have always wondered about some of the lingo used on these forums when it comes in competitions... Anyway what is a Bass Race vs a dB drag? Or a SQ event? How are they measured? I am sure I missed a few different race names but what are they? How are they all different? How are they measured?

Has anyone messed with the SHURiKEN SK-BT120 batteries? it says it 120 AH and 2600 cranking amps an AGM for 270.00 to good to be true? i know Sonic Electronix is good, seeing how i've dealed with them before. but the battery is what im worried about.

I am using the following tool to figure out how long my aeros need to be to tune the box. http://psp-inc.com/tools.html It will be a ~5 ft^3 box I want to tune it to ~29 hz I am going to use 6" aeros http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=268-354 I want to use 4 of them, for the look it will give the box. What I'm wondering is after I put all this in the calculator, it tells me I need 69" of length. Is this per aero or all of them combined? I would hope that it would be inches total and not per aero. Can someone recommend a decent program that tells me what Hz bass is contained in song? Preferably freeware I've looked at a few through google searches but they either don't tell me the Hz accurately, say the wrong Hz or dont make sense eg. so i finally decided the Q isn't quiet enough for me now a days. i need something bigger. so i just have some questions for you guys.. right now i have a 12" Q powered by a SAE 1000D. i am debating whether to get 1 15" or 2 12"s. i'm looking for which ever has the better output. now obviously the best out put would be out of two 12"s. but money is pretty tight, and i don't want to upgrade all my electrical if i don't have too. i was thinking about just getting 1 12" for now, selling my Q, and running 1 12" off my SAE. how will that sound? will ~1200w make the BTL happy? OKay first off i am looking for a new h/u to replace my current one! i DO NOT even know if a h/u like this exist or is even worth the cash! here is what i am looking for 3.5inch screen or bigger but not 7inch(touch if possible) 1.5din i currently have a kenwood 817 flip out h/u and i don't care for the flip out thing plus i don't watch movies all that much I can NOT fit a double din in my dash and single dins look a litlte crappy in my 1.5din mounting area. basically i want to get a 1.5din screen if possible, touch would be awesome. but maybe i am looking up the wrong seach idea's b/c i can't seem to find any! so i thought i would jsut post a thread and see what ppl kno…

anyway, a little back story, I sold this sub to a friends brother, he brings it back to me and says the sub is blown and figures I could use it. with a little inspection I noticed a few things. the tencil leads were coated in the normal wire cover thingy that some subs use (red and black wires), well, the wires will still pretty much covered, but there are spots that seem to be missing wire cover. and the Positive wire is pulled out of the terminal a little (meaning it needs re-soldered) and this 18 has a dual spider setup right? the top one is glued on a big ring about a quarter to half an inch tall. anyways, the top spider seems to have pulled itself off of the ring pie…

I recently purchased a btl 18 and a sundown 2000d which i guess puts out around 2500wrms. The problem is instead of going though a bunch of different enlosures to just ask the pros. I was personally thinking of walling off the front from the trunk. car is a 2000 coupe cavalier and theres a sound comp soon and would like some tips so any comments are appreciated. Im kinda a newbie when it comes to larger setups like this.

I am going to get a 15" fi btl in my civic, being powered by 2500 watts, and i want to know ways to not let any sound come out of the car. Meaning, even with windows down, i dont want to be heard cuz i dont want to get shit jacked/annoy people. Is there a way to do this, or is it just going to be loud anyways, and i would just need to turn it down at times?

I'm really new to car audio and i'm going to get a full set up. i need advice on what to get. i want a system for mostly hip hop and rap. So after listening to M5 and a couple other people on this forum who made great points to remove my 6.5" speakers from my rear deck I am glad you guys opened me up to a whole different world of sound in my car. Those 2-6.5" opening allow for so much bass to come through into the cabin of my car from the trunk its ridiculous, more ouput and better sound from my subs was gained. Ok so I have a "brilliant" idea. I just picked up a Kicker KX3 crossover for cheap with no idea what to do with it really. Well I got to thinking. It has two inputs (front/rear) and three outputs (front/rear/sub). Now then, I have a 2005 Ranger ext. cab I just got for my DD. I am in the process of collecting parts for some form of audio install in it. I was thinking I could ditch the 6x8's in the doors for some 4"'s or 5 1/4"'s mount some tweets on the sail panels, and some 6 1/2"'s in the kicks. Could I use this crossover to do an "active" set up? I have some MLI65's laying around I could use for the kicks. What would be some good compliments to these. And then theres th…
