So last summer I was on an unknown mic at a local audio shop and hit 148.2 with my 15" Fi Q on 1500 watts. I knew that was way too high so I had always been curious what id get on the TL. Today I found out that number is a 142.26 in the dash with driver window down, and 140.xx sealed up. I dont think thats too bad considering what my sub has been through... First I blew it so i tore it apart, recoiled it, and patched the spiders Then the magnet cracked/shifted so I shimmed it and epoxied the hell out of it Then the cone blew apart, epoxied once again Ran off a clarion dpx11500 (1500 rms at 1 or 2 ohm) at 1 ohm with the gain about 1/3 up, peaked at 36hz in my 4 cubes …

Might be a ridiculous question but i'd rather be safe than sorry. Is it an alright idea to mount my amp directly on the top of my box. Never really see it so i figured i'd ask. Just to throw it out there it will be a Sundown SAZ-2000D on a box for a Fi BTL 15". Thanks.

I am thinking about buying my new Pioneer Premier DEH-800PRS and iPod adapter from www.wooferetc.com Total would be $475 shipped. I was wondering if anyone has been screwed over by them? And if so, how and what happened? If I don't buy it from there for $399, I would buy it from a local store for $479...... I would rather buy from wooferetc.com, as long as it's a legit site. They claim to be BBB, and a AAA rated site.

I'm ordering comps for my front stage along with a amp, not sure what I should be looking at for quality though. If I put comps up front can I keep my 6.5 coax in the back and just run a 4 channel amp to the 6.5's and the fronts? Would that sound right? Trying to keep it under 250 for comps and amp

  5. I am going to do both bassrace and spl. Just wondering what would be some good sub that can handle 4k rms daily. Idk if there even is. I'm getting mike singers bass race box from his eclipse to put into mine. It's tuned to 35hz right now. Any ideas? I have $1000 limit. I have to sell my 15 btls first though.

hi all i am going to be competing for the first time and was wondering what class i should run. i am going to using my fi x 12 in a 6th order bp which is 3.5 cubes a chamber and will be pushing 200w rms to it. also i have a kicker zx 1500 that i just aquired and was thinking of using it at 8 oms on the x so that should roughly be about 375wto 400w rms but was wondering if they would make me run a higher class since that amp can put out 1500w even though i would have it putting out around 400 since it would be at 8 ohms

When my subs are playing (not on full tilt) sometimes the volume just drops. The music volume stays the same, but the subwoofer volume drops. The amp should NOT be clipping. I set it up for a volume of 30 with the sub level at +6. My usual listening range is a 20-26 with the sub level at -6-0. The setup is two alpine type r 12"s in a 6th order bandpass powered by an old school Lightening Audio 1000D at one ohm. I have a 200 amp h.o alt with NO big three. I can tell you the headunit if you need it.

So, i was driving down the road today with the subs playing, not quite at full tilt but pretty loud and all of a sudden a rattle starting coming from the box, and a lack of volume did as well. This is a bandpass so the front of the subs are not visible, but you can see the rear of the subs by looking through the aeroports. The rattle seems to come from the bottom of one of the port walls i can visibly see vibrating. This is not the first time the port has come loose but this is the first time there has been a lack of volume. These are two alpine type r 12"s off of an old school lightening audio 1000d. Signal is not clipped. I do have a 200amp alternator without a bi…

I have no idea how loud my system is but I'm wondering at how many db's do your ears start to feel discomfort? It only happens when I have it going full tilt but my eardrums start to tickle and they hurt a little bit on the lower frequencies (30-35hz) I almost never feel it but anytime I have a friend riding with me they complain about their ears nonstop but I almost never feel it? I'm guessing when I get the saz-3500 and whatever sub its going to be very hard to sit in my car?

Don't send your T3 sub to T3 audio to be repaired , because Johnathan Demuth will just keep it. He will stop answering your e-mails an phone calls. He said SEND IT BACK I'LL FIX IT, yeah ok. You know it funny that eveyday on Facebook he post something but can't answer my e-mails or phone calls. $600.00 out the door time to call Sundown and get a good subwoofer an good company.

Was wondering if anyone has delt with "THE ROBOT UNDERGROUND" aka Juicyrobot on ebay? This is my question// I have a Orion XTRPRO 2400d that 1 of the output conductors was smoked. I spoke to Chris from db-r and he told me that i had to find another board from that model to get the part i needed. So i remember that when DEI bought Orion/ppi/ads in 2003 they had a auction and "the robotunderground" bought allot of the stock parts/b-stock items. I contacted them and was told to send it in for repair and they would rewind the conductor. I sent it to them on the 13th of may and they emailed me and said they received it and the tech is looking at it. Now i have emailed …

  18. Hi all, A friend of mine wants a system for his class c Mercedes. He used to have some kind of spl system his cars, but wants now something small. He will buy a good Alpine head unit and a set of Focal comps for the front(without amp). He like the Icon but need something smaller, 300-600 watts rms. My first option would be a 10" Dcon sub and a small 2 channel amp(maybe a Sundown). Will that be enough for his trunk? will he be able to hear it in the car? The trunk is quite big, and seems to have no ski hole. What are the other options ? He would like to keep the budget as low as possible, but he is not broke, at all !!! To give a budget, hummmmmm : 300 to 400 $ max (witho…

It was a lot of fun. I forgot my camera at home so no pics. Kinda sad actually... But anyway I ran for the first time I did a 141.8, I didn't think that it was to bad, with no electrical upgrades and the sub not being broke in yet. I am already considering another sub and walling my Jimmy off behind the second row. Of course that would involve another amp, a few batteries, and a alternator. But overall other than being burnt as hell the show was a lot of fun, and i can't wait for next year. BTW mark i handed out some flyers, but the were like wtf is ssa. HAHAHAHA

  22. I drive a nissan maxima, and I need a system that will be the BEST I CAN GET for my car. I'm not really crazy for competition, I just want to be be heard from far away when i drive and make sure everyone in the block heres me when i stop at a traffic light/stop sign lol. So will a FI BTL 15 on sundown 2000 in a ported box be good for that purpose or something less expensive such as 2 alpine type r 12s or 2 kicker cvr 12s in a sealed box. I also plan to fiberglass my box and raamat the shit out of my car. I am in somewhat of a budget, i dont want to go for more than $1000 for the sub(s)/amp, but i upgraded all the electricals in my car already (Optima yellow top, kinetic h…

  23. So I'm in the process of saving up cash for my new system. I'm almost 17 and working at mcdonalds bringing in about 150-200 a week. But anyways here we go, I only have room for 1 15 or 2 12's yes I considered taking out my backseats and making a 2 18" wall but that's a little drastic. Thought about going with a BTL 15 and putting it on a 3500 (either aq or sundown) But figured for a little more money I could get 2 12" BTLs and put them on 2 2k's (aq2200 or sundown2000) Both would be going in roughly 4 cubes @ 32 hz Is it worth the extra money for 2 12" btls? Only a little more cone area and 1000 more watts.

  24. Setup - 1999 Ford Expedition 5.4L 2 x 15" MTX 9500 1ohm setup Crunch GP3000D Amp ----------- Electrical: Big 3 of course - 1/0 Gauge Stock Alternator - I JUST replaced this thing a month ago, previous alternator crapped out on me. Question: Will the D3100 battery (second) be enough to handle the electrical? I plan on getting an Optima Yellow up front. Worse case scenario, I can always just upgrade the alternator. But i'd rather not if I don't have to. I just want a good steady voltage. ----------- I was planning on going with 2 18 BTLs, but found a great deal for 2 15 9500s for only 500 total - so I'm going to jump on it. Any/all answers are appreciated. Thanks.

i have been on this forum and looking around at other guys cars/trucks. they all seem to get one subwoofer say a 12/15 inch woofer and on the videos they are flexing like crazy the roof of the car the trunk side windows and so on. they put a 2000-3000 watt sundown on it what im getting at why not get woofers that take less watts like 4 or 8 subwoofers that take lets say 150-200 watts rms per subwoofer and use less watts from your amp and your alternator and that should get way more output from like 1100 watts from your amp then getting a big 3500 watt monster that will pull 350 amps on one subwoofer and make your volts drop in low 11s im not trying to start a war just …
