basically, i've had a major drop in bass in my car. i have 2 fi BLs and 2 kicker 1000w amps. initially, i had trouble with my iPod cable(dock to aux cord , the 7$ one from ebay) so i bought a new one. well now all of a sudden, my cds have also lost the quality. the stock speakers in the door hit harder as of right now. when i turn the knob all the way and put the volume up, i finally get what i should be getting at about 1/4 turned. i looked at the amps thinking 1 of them was dead and they both were fine. i dont really know much about wiring but will probably read up on it 2morrow since i will have some free time to look at it, but this is what basically happens http://pi…

Ok, so I've done a lot in car audio, and have used a dmm to set gains before, but it was a cheap one from radio shack and i don't feel it was really worth crap even using. Never blown any speakers, but also know I've never had a perfectly correctly set gain on an amp. I just do it by "feel", "sound" and performance. natural abilities you may say, complete crap you may even say! lol but hey it's worked so far but i'm tired of trusting myself. What oscilloscope has anyone used? know of? how much? where? and what will do the trick/be best for setting gains? Thanks in advance i'm very interested!

Hi, I need some tips to reduce vibration noises in Golf Cab 1989... On doors: - I have applyied a vibrational damper to the outer door skin. - I have fitted an absorbent product behind the speakers - I have filled holes with a adhesive damper product - I have applyied a vibrational damper to the inner door skin. Trunk and roofs - I have applyied a vibrational damper and an isolator product. I have done another tasks on trim panels, license plate... using polyurethane foam and urethane seam sealer. On interior body, vibration noises have been halved but I don't know how to reduce the noises prompted by metal framework of top cover. Some idea??? Sorry for my poor english. T…

Well I had my first spl reading ever and was fairly happy. My system consists of 4 RE8's in a sealed enclosure that is way to small approximately 1.9 cubic ft total with an OLD RF 800.2. This set up is in my 95 impala ss. Well for my first system I was happy with my 131.8. I have a pic but I am a retard when it comes to posting pics. I was kind of wondering if I was pretty much on par for this setup or am I off a little.

Sarasota, Florida is now the most costly place in Florida to have a loud car stereo system. with a new law that gives police the authority to impound cars if they can hear the tunes from 25 feet away there will be no first time offender warning in my freaking city no, first-time offenders face a $74 fine for violating the city's noise ordinance, and a $125 towing fee to get their vehicles out of the impound yard. Better be careful with my new city. Gotta love the stupid old people in my state. Not that I'm not courteous at night hours and stop lights but wow. "get out of my state and go die somewhere else we don't want you" VCPR vice city public radio quote from GTA.

As the topic states, I need to get my hands on some parts to start building up my pile of motors that I have sitting arround. these things are just going to go to waste otherwise.. all have 3" coils--all from big name woofers so If someone can point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated. What I need: Baskets, Surrounds, Cones, Coils, Spiders, dustcaps, tensil leads ect... I've got a bunch of identical motors to build and some odd ball's that use the same coil (but have a different motor design) thanks in advance

I've been pondering this for a while.... Should I sell the RL-p 12" and pick up 4 RL-i 8's instead and run the amp at 2 ohms, giving each 8 ~250W? Thoughts?

So, I will be running 2 subs off a 2k RF amp and also about another 1k watts to mids and highs. I will be doing big 3 and puttin a extra battery in the back (smaller one). Right now I have a 160 amp alt and a stock 730ampere battery. Are these going to be enough or will I probably have to upgrade them?

My friend told me about this audio company that just came out. Apparently they are really goodbut i have never heard of them nor found some demos on the internet. I also cant find their site for their stuff or prices. Have any of you guys heard of them? I wouldnt mind trying their equipment out lol. Like on YouTube all i see is them showing their stuff but not actually playing. They have like 2500w minimum amps and go up to 5k.

I know this has been covered before but I cant find it on the search feature. It would be a sealed box under the seat of a crew cab sierra Would 3 10s sealed hit harder than 2 12s. Using the same amp to each of them a RF Power 800a2

I know the Term-LAB is by all means the best to use but is also really expensive. Are there any other meters out there that are good and cheaper?

I am going to be walling off my car soon and wanted some opinions on which subs to run. I really want either 2 15'' Zcons or just recone my Mayhem's to 15's. This will be a low and nasty setup with tuning around 30-33hz with 5k of power. I am not worried about number scores, I just like my bass loud and low. I know either one would get the job done, just fishing for input.

Allright so within the next month I will be ordering an FI BL 12 to put in my 98 mustang gt, I currently have a soundstream tx1.2000D mono block amp to power the BL. Also I will be running it at 1ohm, do you think the BL will be able to handle the watts or should I keep the amp around 1000-1500? Any feedback is appreciated. Just want to know your thoughts

Hey, going to build a triple amplifier rack out of 1/2" MDF. Is there a paint recommended for use with MDF, I'm sure this has been discussed before, but I didn't find much with the search. I would like it to be as chip/flake resistant as possible, would spray or roll on be best?

I'm excited to help bring Scott Buwalda to this part of the world. B) We've been talking over the past weeks, discussing the feasibility, and have had some quick and enthusiastic response! While Buffalo, NY isn't a huge city, it is central to quite a bit - Southern Ontario (Toronto is only 1.5 hours, Niagara Falls about 30 minutes, etc) Rochester, NY (about 1 hour) Northeast Ohio (about 2.5 hours) Erie, Pa (about 1.5 hours) And with the cancellation of the Sacramento, CA event - we were able to secure a date! B) Here is the official announcement thread: http://www.canadiancaraudio.com/ubb/ultima...ic;f=3;t=010529 For those that haven't seen yet, here is the Sound Qua…
