Hi, I have a 1999 blazer with a single 12 Fi Q powered by a cadence zrs-7000d which is running at about 1300 rms at 1 ohm. The Fi Q is in a 2.2cuft L-Ported box tuned to about 32 hz. I really like this sub woofer but i am looking for more output. I have some questions now. First, i am looking to add another Fi Q 12 and making the box to about 5^3, i would be buying another zrs-7000d and bridging them together to get 2600rms at 2 ohms. Would there be any better subs that would give me noticeably more output out of a 5^3 box with about 2600rms? Second, would a new 250 amp alt and a optima yellow top under the hood be enough to support the electrical for the 2600watts? Third…

I just had an idea on a sub enclosure for my 2002 reg cab s10..... what im thinking is to take out both seats and make an enclosure shaped like a bench seat (with cushion and carpet covering it) with a sub firing backwards behind where each seat was or maybe one firing backwards in the middle i havent worked out any details yet but i need opinions, because i dunno how safe this would be, say if i got into an accident or even if i could make a box sturdy enuf to support myself and other ppl Now, time for you guys to either tell me how stupid it is(cuz it might very well be lol) or gimme some help designing it!! any pros or cons would help!! Thanx Tom

  6. ok let me first start off by telling you my equipment. I have a sundown 3000d, 4 skar 12s , 2 deka intimidators, redtop under hood, stinger capacitor good for 10,000 watts , my alternator is one i found on ebay im sure it does more amps than the stock one but probaly not much , i would like to say getting a new alternator is out of the question reasons are i have a 2002 intrepid 2.7L and noone really makes a alternator for this car they want me to use brackets in stuff i dont really trust that and plus the alternator isnt in a place i could check the bolts all the time. right now the car runs at idle 14.1 volts and i check the capacitor voltage by the amps it goes to most…

It will house 2 RF P212d4's. Not the new black models the older ones with the removable magnet cover. I would be able to design one but I do not have the manual and rockford's website does not either. It is going in a Scion TC so I am going to build it to specs which is 1.75 cubes per sub. Tuning anywhere from 35-40hz. I will be powering them with a Diamond D3 400.1. Height cannot be more than 12", W cannot be more than 40", and D cannot be more than 16". Someone please design me a good ported box for these woofers to these specs. Thanks.

I'm looking into adding some pro audio into my car.. I pretty much have everything ready except some pro audio mids. I'm looking to run them off channels 3&4 on my Arc FD 4150 and want them to get some power. The reason they need to get a lot of power vs your standard 8 ohm mid is because I'm running 2 crescendo supertweets of a Arc FD 2100 and they are screaming (see distance video below.) I'm really only looking into 1 mid per side so I can fit the supertweet and mid in a kick panel I'm planning on making.

I'm not new to car audio just been a few years since I've had to put together a system. I'm getting a 2012 Mazda 3 hatchback soon and I'm already planning on getting a little system for it. I'll be taking some components out of my truck and selling off the rest with it. Headunit is Pioneer AVH-X4700BS Amp NVX JAD900.5 I have these in my truck now with a Sundown SD-3 10" will sell I plan to get the NVX V-Series components in 6.5" and the coaxial in 6x8 for the rear door. As far as subs I'm not wanting anything large as far as box size/sub size. I loved my SA-8 v1 I had years ago. The amp does 440w at 2ohm which configuration would give me the best…

ok so i was just browsing some older topics today and realized that i have a wire kinda out of whack. im not sure if it is hurting or helping me or if it even has any effect at all. the blue wire (line) in the pic is the wire im referring to. its from my alternator negative to the negative on my second battery in the back. i have no idea what was going through my mind when i hooked it up like this but if im not mistaken, isnt it doing the same thing as if it were the negative on my battery up front to my battery in the back? also, one of my other questions was should i be running a power wire from the + on my alt to the + on my batteries in the back?? the way the pic is i…

So I've had my setup for a bit now... I am currently powering my front stage with a Boston Acoustics GT2-125 ... Sounds great and strong... Only issue is that when I set the gain between the 8v and 4v setting (closer to the 4v setting) the speakers seem to emit a static/hiss noise when paused or during quiet segments past the volume of 30 which I'm almost always at ... I've pretty much noticed if the amplifier gain setting is at 8v it is perfect but very very low.... Not sure if this has anything to do with it but I have this tweeter set in the dash and this 6x9 set in the doors ... So the amplifier is currently seeing a 2 ohm load.... Should I ditch that setup and get …

  17. Hey guys, I just ordered myself an AA mayhem 12" and I am currently waiting on it. In the meantime I have been looking for a box to put it in. I immediately went over to the Khaotic enclosures to see what they had for a ported single 12. At first I found exactly what I was looking for, A low tuned box, Nicely built, For a good price. However After taking more measurements, I realized that the box isn't going to fit in my 03 Mercury Sable. I went back onto the forums to see if I could find anything else. I came across the DC creations boxes and I filled out an inquiry to get a quote on a box. I still have not gotten a response over the past few days. I don't have the mat…

I would just like to start off by thanking everyone here as I have learned so much reading everything here in the past year. As a start to the new year I am starting a new project on a 2002 Chrysler 300m. My previous setup is as follows: 2001 Ford Windstar LX Soundqubed HDC3 18 (2 ohm) SQ2200@ 1 ohm Enclosure built by me designed by Joe X Clarion cz702 Mechman 270 alt As one could probably tell already is that the box does not fit in the trunk. The trunk is designed very strange and impossible to put the box in so I will need to build a new one. I would like to build this box for (2) hdc3s if space is available. I could slide the box in through the back with the seat…

  19. Hi there guys. I'm working on deciding what I want to buy for two door 2001 Jimmy. I have a Kenwood KDC-X492 headunit installed already, along with Phoenix Gold RSD 6.5" components in the doors. My goals for the system is to have a setup that will get plenty loud while maintaining good musical balance. Now, I'm no noob to the car audio game, this truck will be getting the full treatment of sound deadening, HO alt, 2-3 batteries and more so it will handle about anything I want do with it much like I did my van. My questions are for those with experience with both the 10" SSD and 12" BTL series subwoofers from Fi. My original design for the truck was to use two 10" …

Here is some background to make this easier for yall. Speakers are 6.5s and will be going into the stock locations and Im going to run them passive. Im looking to spend around 20…

  21. both are regarding my amp(s) and/or system. 1) whenever i have my car running, the voltage on my sub amp used to read around 14.2-14.4v, at idle. now its only reading around 12v, at idle, which is what it used to read with the truck off. which brings be to the second problem regarding this. now instead of my amp going into protect mode at 10.5v like before, its dropping down to 9v on the display. i highly doubt that its going that low. i havent touched any of the settings since i tuned it with the DMM. im not sure if its the display thats messed up, the amps reading thats wrong, or if im actually dropping that low. btw, the amp is a ma audio hk4000d that i bought off of …

Well, so now comes time to hurry up and get some bump in the Cutty before I leave. I've had my mind on some L7s for quite some time and with the recent Ebay explosion on great prices they are pretty hard to pass up. I'm thinking a trio of 12 will do nicely and I'll come in at just under $400 after shipping. Midbass is handled. I have a nice pair of RMB8s just awaiting a good home. Now on to HU, amplification and midrange, tweeters. Here I'm at a loss. Would like to get a nice cheap MP3 compatible HU; amps, who knows. Subs will be handled by a class D for current concerns, but is 1.5K feasible for $250-$300? And what about midrange/tweeter combos? I'm at a loss…

I need some pointers on how to begin my build. I have a 86 full size short bed chevy truck and there is no way I can get the kind of sound Im looking for with such little space behind the seat. I want to put the subs in the bed with a blow thru into the cab. Im not looking to compete in SPL or anything like that just want the kind of bass Im use to hearing (just sold my magnum and miss it already). Im running an Alpine CDA 9886 head unit and Kicker 3.5, 6.5 in the cab will be adding components soon. The problem Im having is Ive never tried this before and dont know what type of enclosure to use or what subs for that matter. Ive always stuck to mainstream subs like JL, Kic…

I just ordered a Fosgate T20001BD, 2 Fi Q 12's w/ Bp Power option, I have a JL 450/4 which will power a set of 6.5" Focal Utopias and a set of 6.5" Focal Polyglass. As of now I have the stock alternator (2006 RSX) which is small..not sure exactly what it is. I have a regular batt in the front which has 2 4gauge wires runnin to the back. There's a 100amp fuse on each 4 gauge. These two 4 gauges run to a Optima Yellow Top in the back the car. This is where the two amps will be. Does the wiring seem sufficient for what will be in the car? And the fuses?...I may need to get a high output alt. for the car kuz of dimming...
