Alright well iv decided to get a 15"ssd with a soundstream rub1600. I need power wire... and should i get a capacitor?... i have all stock electrical. But i ordered a volt meter to watch and make sure my voltage dosnt go to low... but i am thinking a 5 cuft box with pvc ports... tuned to like 35hz... or lower... not sure yet. Possibly square interchangable ports.. its going in a tundra access cab.. any ideas? I have a sheet of like 3/8" plastic for a window in the box. Possible leds in the box... not sure yet but def a window. So any crazy ideas to make this build original? Im 18 but pretty skilled with a saw and router.. let me know.

I am selling my lightning for an SUV. The main reason is because i am going to start a stereo shop in town. My whole reason for the new build is so i can have somthing to show off. I want your guys opionion about everything because i am new to the game and i know you guys are some of the best around and have a crap load more experience about anything audio than i do. Let me first say that i might not be the best when it comes to audio. I do infact like every aspect of it. I am 18, I Have and drive for my own race team and have a couple employees twice my age. I have built over 30 race cars and i can do pretty much anything with metal. Well when it comes to wood i am a fl…

I am in the process of buying a 2002 Camaro SS (monday it should be mine). I sold my old system except for my Planet Audio TT2250D and my Pioneer DEH-P860MP. I am getting a Planet Audio TT4200D, 2004 XXX 15", and a set of Rainbow Pro 3 Way components. For sound deadening, I have 3 gallons of Second Skin Spectrum. Jamie will be doing the Kicks for the Pro 4"s and tweeters, and the Vanadium 6.5" midbass will be mounted in the doors. He will also be doing the trunk install in all fiberglass. The trunk install won't be done for a little while so I will just make a temporary sealed box for the time being. I was wondering if I should get some Audiocontrol EQ gear to get i…

i did some repair work on a truck, the guy had it installed a few years back at a place in austin that went out of biz after year and years of serving the austin tx area, anyhow.. they had a rope, that went from the highs amp, up the head unit.. so that you could just tap into the factory door speaker wires from the harness, inside was of course 2 puple 2 white 2 green 2 grey. and a remote wire blue, all inside one rope the size of 0 gauge, i wish i would have remembed the name of the company planly printed on the can casing, but i dont, has anyone ever seen this ? and ya know where i can get a bunch? thanks,

Here is the little back story.. I bought my car off my dad, who previously installed some aftermarket audio system. I decided i wanted to upgrade the components and he said that he has Infinity Reference 5.25" components in there already so I decided to go with the Bravox CS50k (5.25") component set for ease of install. Today, I go to install the Bravox's and notice that the Infinity's are indeed 6.5". So now iv payed $150 dollars for a downgrade in size.. Great.

I will soon be working on walling my 1997 Honda accord with 2 18 inch DC subwoofers (level 4 with level 5 soft parts), running on 1 (soon to be 2) HC1800 batteries with stock alt, 1800 kenwood amp, zero gauge. Now i will be working on this project and i should be done sometime after December. My question for any car audio smarties out there is this, I will post the stats of the subs below for the level 4's and the level 5's. Now keep in mind that they are STILL level 4's but they contain level 5 parts (such as motor and spider). So my subs will fall in the middle of level 5 and level 4. Now the real question is this, What amp do you think i should be running to these woof…

Ive been trolling here for awhile getting ideas and researching various things and I finally have a reason to post. Im posting because I need some advice. I had 2 15" alpine type R subs come way for dirt cheap. $150 for both I need help deciding on an enclosure, an amp, and even a head unit. I honestly dont know my 'goals' as its been a very long time since I have had a system. A long time ago when they were new I had 1 MTX 9500 sub that I really enjoyed. I listen to all kinds of music, mainly rap/pop and rock with some heavier stuff (Avenged Sevenfold) This will all be going into a 1998 Eclipse GSX As far as budget, im somewhat flexible, Lets say I'd like to stay und…

is it neccesary to upgrade my entire electrical system to run a 3000 watt amp in a cobalt? I have some people telling me I need to upgrade my alternator battery and every wire under the hood. i've ran more power than 3000 watts with a complete stock setup before with no problems. What do you guys think? I can understand the alt and battery upgrade that's a given...

I am wanting to 'build' a center channel for my h/a system. I have a pair of CDT CL-5's 4ohm to use. I am thinking, wiring them to 8ohm and build a small cabinet for them. My question is on the crossover. Is there a xover kit, or a decent xover out there to buy, that I can mount inside the small cabinet, that can handle the 110w my Pioneer VSX puts out? Dont really know what my budget would be, but I surely dont wanna spend too much, or I'd just buy a speaker on ebay or something. I have looked at parts express, and see some 2-ways...I guess I could just use the high pass side of one of those? Or, could it be as simple as just getting some 'bass-blockers' for the…

Ok I have a 2013 ford fusion with ford mytouch. Touchscreen is connected to all the electronics in the car so running an aftermarket HU is out of the question because it will affect everything in the car. I have a 15" sp4 and im planning to run it on a sundown 3500. My question is if i use a line driver (audio control, LOC, etc) to connect my amp to my Factory HU will I lose output or my lows by doing this compared to running an aftermarket HU? I just don't want to run an amp and sub if i can't get its full potiential. Thanks!

hey im just wondering if these 2 batteries would be enough to feed my rockford bd 2000 and a alpine pdx 100.4 . i drive a 2006 monte carlo ss 5.3 v8 and i have no idea what my idle output is on my alternator. i found an irragi alternator for the car but i am scared of getting it because of the negative reviews i heard about them so i would like to try to stray away from buying a new alternator. thanks in advanced for the help

Over the past 18 years I have had countless audio systems. Most of them consisted of two 12" or two 15" and 500-1500w. There is one particular system that a neighbor had that I will never forget. He had a simple system, two Orion XTR 12" with a small cheap Kenwood 500w amp. His car was a three door, possibly it was a Gulf idk. Why I remember this system is because when the bass hits and when I/he was talking it sounded like we were talking through a fan. I have never been able to duplicate this effect. No matter how many subs or watts I had. Actually, I havent even sat in too many other cars that could either. What causes your voice to sound like you are talking through…

Hello all! Love the forums. I've got a Kenwood Excellon Z828 deck, two 1998 Diamond Audio Motorsport 5.25" components with the tweets backed of -4, tweets in the grill panels, running off a PPI PC4400 C amp and two JL 10W0's in a Power Wedge box up against the back seat. The passive crossovers are @ 55hz, but that's WAY too low for them. The sound good between 80-100Hz, and the subs sound best at 80 or below. I'm using the 12db/oct x-overs in the amp. In this car, what are the resonant frequencies? I listen to electronic and rock (311!!!). So, getting the bass guitar to sound clear and phat is a chore. I have standing wave pads behind the speakers, the wiring was done r…

I just want to get this straight, the 1/0 run from my amp to battery, i would hook into the 1/0 slot in something like THIS, and then connect that to the actual battery terminal.. right? Also, why does it say its a Pos/Neg battery clamp? (Doesnt it matter which side of the battery you hook it to?) sorry for the pure newbness and Thanks to everyone that replies haha
