Hey guys I'm trying to make some test tones with Adobe Audition so I can calibrate my amp as well as my head unit. I'm using the highest sample rate in the program, 192,000, and I'm using 32 bit resolution. So I'm assuming this is the highest quality audio I can get off the computer. Anyways my question is which format should I save them as? I know that mp3 is a lossy format, and the program has like 20 different ones I can choose. The other thing is I have to able to put them onto a burnable cd, so I'm assuming that limits me to just mp3 and wav. But the program lists about 5 different wav formats, so which one should I choose? Any help would be appreciated. A/mu-Law Wav…

Currently in my car I have a pair of Alpine SPR-13Ss (http://www.alpine-usa.com/product/view/spr-13s/), and I also have an 18" SSD @ 32hz in a 9cuft box. The SSD is extremely loud, and depending on the song, tends to drown out my fronts. So I was looking at trying to run some pro audio so I can get a clear and loud front stage that can be heard over my sub. I was reading some threads, and saw these tweets: Selenium ST350 Super Tweeter I'm sure they will more than outperform my current tweeters. I was also looking at this midbass: Selenium 10PW3-SLF 10" Driver The only problem with 10" midbass is making custom pods for my doors. I have never done anything like that, and w…

I need a new HU right now. I dont know if I want to go single or double din For single din im thinking about the Alpine 9887 (I dont like the new Pioneer ones, their interface sucks) For double din Im debating between Pioneer AVIC-Z120, Kenwood DNX9960 and Clarion NX700 and Eclipse AVN726E Now of course, with the double din I get much more features, but I lose a lot of things like crossovers, more-band equalizers, time alignment etc basically lose a lot of tuning options (will go active later on, dont know if the features matter after all?)and they are also much more expensive, these are $1000+ models. My goal is to have a loud car with muscle bass and clear highs, but de…

So we had our Iasca show Saturday, and i ended up doing a 145.8 legal on the dash(Iasca style). For most of yal thats not really loud, But im happy with it and very impressed with what it did given the money i have in it. Also given my port is nothing more but a regular concrete sonotube, no fiberglass, no flare, and nothing bracing it. 1 DC XL-18 M1 - Dual 1 Shark 2500d @ .5ohm daily 1-Run Bullz Audio 1/0 Ofc 2 Agm's Stock 90a Alt $430 in it

Well I know I'm no competitor or anything. Still a learner. I'm still here. Been checking SSA and CA.com occasionally. Been busy with school and working this summer. I'm sorta behind on all the audio gear. I still have my lil 94 GMC Sonoma. Its going to be my project. I just bought an 03 Jeep Liberty Sport. It'll be my daily until my truck is done. The GMC is gunna be my summer truck, but I'm going to do it up like I want to. I don't have my full license yet, but its coming. September 20th is when I'm eligible to get it. And I still got my Mach 5 SPL-12s. There still in the same place they've been since I bought them. Have had them for almost a year. Still no power has we…

A gremlin that ive experienced once before, and that disappeared on its own before, is back and making me a bit furious. Lows are diminished, kind of loose and hollow sounding. The higher notes are overly strong and seemingly impervious to lpf settings, have a sort of trembling effect to them too. Lower notes often come thru with an initial high note hit thats very pronounced and then goes into the actual note that should be playing but weak and with that "trembling" type effect mentioned earlier. Just sounds out of phase and shitty overall. Ive tweaked all hu and amp settings with no change. This most recent appearance of the gremlin occured after installing an EA alt,…

actual technical question follows ---> Basically as the title says...I've decided on an 5.25" or 6.5" MTM design that works for my app, but I've got a choice of ribbon or regular tweets. The ribbon kit is double the price of the normal one at $550...I've never owned a speaker using ribbon tweets, so I don't know if they'd be worth the price increase. FYI, the speakers I'm looking at can be found at http://www.parkeraudio.net. 95dB/W or 98dB/W at a stable 2 ohm load. Thanks. :musik05:

Thank you so much bud for your very generous donation! Just to inform everyone, Gfronty sent me a bass knob and cord from New York all the way down to Texas for O, ZIP, NADA, ZERO! I couldn't believe it.....he didn't even let me pay him for the shipping, now thats why Im a proud to be a part of SSA. And to think of how bad the economy is, people still go way out of there way to help out others, so "THANK YOU SO MUCH GFRONTY!"

Just for example...I want to run 4 subs off a monoblock amp with 2 channels of amplification. If I run 2 subs wired in series to get my desired ohm load. Say I'm putting out 500 watts to one channel of power, do both subs see 500 watts? or is it changed a little?

I currently have a Yamaha RV-V800 5.1 receiver and enjoy it quite a bit. I wouldn't go back to 'consumer brands' like sony, kenwood, jvc etc (no offense). RX-V800 review http://audioreview.com/PRD_125000_2718crx.aspx Receiver Comparison Yamaha receiver comparison chart. The speakers I'm currently using: Mission 701 x 4 (fronts and surrounds) Mission 70C1 (center channel) Mission 700ASi (10" powered sub) Mission 701 reveiw Mission 700 series PDF click the pic for a larger view sorry no big pic My Brother is getting married this Summer and I'm considering giving him my Yamaha 5.1 amplifier. (Is that tacky giving him a used amp.. I have original box etc). I might be intere…

well the show today was pretty good. Had quite a bit of SPL cars there. They had SQ cars for all classes, but only one per class so they all took 1st place. They only had one Extreme SPL car that i do have pics of and it hit i believe a 171 db. Its the Treo Car. I was running my Icon 15 in the new 4 cu ft box tuned to 40 hz with my SoundStream PCA 2000d on it wired at 1 ohm. I was actually surprised i placed 3rd in my class out of 10 competetors. the finals pics are of me, the trophy, and the paper with the ratings on it. My highest was a 143.9 db, but then again the Icon is LSQ and the testings on a good SPL box are still up in the air. Hope you guys enjoy. 1…

I am running all Zed Amps in my system, Gladius to the comps and 2 miniliths to the (2) 12" subs. Recently I have had some problems with the minilith amps, but a return trip to Zed should have cured that. My question is my subs "say" they have an RMS of 675 watts and are capable of 2000 watts (Eclipse SW8200's) with the 2 minilith's I was assuming that it would be enough power to push these baby's. A brief conversation with Stephen and he recommends setting up the miniliths so that each sub is powered off of it's own minilith. Thus giving each sub "330 watts" in his words. that is less than half of the RMS. I wanted to strap the amps to get around +/- 1200 watts which wo…
