I know Trupan is lighter, but more expensive, has anyone used it and how did you like it over MDF? Does it "sound" different?

  2. Just got done doing a system for my friend on a hifonics 1000 watt amp and a 15" l7 and the box he got is terrible it can't hit anything below 40 worth a damn. And he loves his lows. So I was wondering of anyone in NJ OR PA would like to get paid to build a box more suitable for the sub. Thank you

I just got my Fi Q 12" back from getting reconed and now I want to build a ported box. I've never built a ported box and wanted to see if these numbers were right. I downloaded the torres box calculator thing and punched in some numbers that seem to work, but I'm not positive if it's right or not. I have a maximum of 30" W, 15.5" H. Depth has no limit but I'd like to keep it a minimum. I just want a good daily box and was basing this off Fi's recommended 32hz.

  4. Ok in the cargo area I got 38Wx20Dx22H. Was gonna only have it 20" high but bumped it up a lilttle to get as much box space as available. According to a box calculator on the12volt.com puts me at 8.01cf, figure about 7.5 after sub displacement (i think thats about right). I tried figuring out for ports and when I put in a 4" aeroport tuned to 32Hz put it at only 1.5" in length.....this does not seem right to me. I tried figuring out for a slot port at 4"x18.5" tuned at 32Hz put the length at 18.9". A 2"x18.5" slot only comes out to 8" of length. Does all this seem right? Tried to mock something up in google sketch but I failed pretty hard at that. If I can't figure thi…

  5. Ok I've had subs before but nothing too fancy just some 12" kicker cvxs in a ported box and running a 1200W (i think) MTX amp. Well i sold that and now I want something new. I have a 2001 Hyundai Elantra and don't care about trunk space so if the subs take up the whole trunk so be it. The thing is my budget is $1000 and I don't want to upgrade my electrical or get very technical with my system. I listen to mainly electronic music (trance, house, etc..) and rap/hip hop once in a while. Now i've read here that if your going for a SQ setup your not going for loud. I understand this, but since I do listen to rap/hip hop does this mean I am not going to be able to enjoy …

ok this is what im working with, i have a 94 corolla 4dr the the subs will be in the trunk faceing the front. the box will be sealed off from the cab. im going to be useing 2-15pbx subs and 2-optidrive2000d (4000w @ 1ohm). the box will be 5cuft @35-38hz w/100sqin port area. ive hit high 130s db with just 1-8" sub w/around 250w on my meter (termlab) so i think i can do it ... so if anybody knows of someone who has hit 150 or over with a trunk setup have them holla at me, or you can just tell me what they did.... thanks jamie

Me and smokedog will be hosting a show in bluefield wv at an autozone. We will have it at the end of sept. To space it out from the other shows thats happening up here so we dont get burnt out on it. Spl will have 5 classes still and we are gonna do sq as well. Door prizes will be supplied by Autozone, it should be a blast. But spl and sq will be happening at this show.

I am currently building a new setup and I am torn on how to tune my box. I will be running 2 18" Fi BTL N2's, 2 Hifonics 2600.10's, and 4 XS D2400's. I am posting to get feedback on which setup would be best, going with a spl setup and tune my box around 32-35 Hz, or go with a wave setup and tune my box around 25-28 Hz.? Feedback and oppinions are needed thanks.

Ok, I tried to do some research about tuning and port area, so I didn't have to make a thread. I read a thread on smd and they were saying 10sqin per cube was better for low tuning and then others were saying other things like more the better so I don't know which is right. A lot of misleading information out there!! Much rather ask here and know I'm getting the right answer lol I'm most likely going to be ask pro-rabbit for a design once I am sure of my measurements,It'd be nice to know exactly what it should be, so I can expand my knowledge. I would like to know for my system specifically, but also in general. EQUIPMENT: Subs: 2 SSA Zcon 12s Amp: 2 Crescendo BC2000s(won…

ok so between my 2 15's im going to have about 400 square inches of port area, and i need to know if figuring out tuning frequency is the same as like a round or slot port. or if 400 is too much lemme know. i have figured 355 per sub so 2/3rds of that is about 220 per sub. but the box is going to be aboue 3.5-3.8 cubes per sub and i would like it to be tuned to around 35 hz. but i have no idea how long i need to make the port or anything like that. so any tips or tricks are well appreciated.

I have decided to go with Selenium ST350 Super Tweeter, and Selenium 6W4P 6" woofer. I will be running thes active and have a copule of questions about them. First question: one being will it sound ok to mount the woofer in the stock door, and the tweeter in the stock dash. I will have to modify the dash a little bit, since the hole right now is 4", and mounting of the tweeter is 4.25". Will it sound good with it located up there? Next question: Since this is my first active setup, I dont want it to sound like shit. So, how do you guys block the mid sound from going to your tweeters? and stop the real lows and real higs from going to the mids? I will be running a MB Qua…

After searching for a place to put my tweeters with no luck I've decided some custom fabrication must be done. I've never done anything like this. I plan to have some type of pod in the bottom of the a pillar ontop of the dash for the crescendo ft1 tweeters. What material should I use and how is it done? http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i38/snaimpally/Pod9.jpg Something like that.
