O just for giggles i built a lil oh 3cu tuned to 34hz box. . threw it in teh car hooked it up and it gets loud about as loud as my sealed 2 sub box.. But the thing i hate hate hate is that, it only does this at the higher hz's. Like low low bass plays but it doesn't rattle anything ect ect... I think my 18's had me spoiled though and i could just be being biased, lol So to compensate for the lows what would be a better tuning for my needs..28? or should i just go back to 18's

Hi guys, I 'm always trying to improve my system. I have a 15" xcon and a 1500 watts Sundown saz amp. The car is a hatchback toyota Auris, with a little trunk. I had a slot ported box with sub up and port up, at 3.5 ft3 at 32 Hz. This box was too big for the trunk, but I thought it was not the right one for my car. I've heared this same box in a smaller car, with the same setup, and it was ...insane. In my car, it was not really loud. I have, now, a 3ft3 sealed box, with the sub firing back ; I found it was better than firing up. So, here is my question : if I want to do another ported box, what would be the best choice ? Sub and port firing back, or sub up and port back …

  11. I recently found this box picture: I love how the port and the edges are rounded. I'm guessing that on the edges that they achieved that with a lot of sanding. I'm wondering how to shape the port like that. I'm considering remaking my box, to try to achieve something like this. It looks completely badass.

  16. Howdy, I am going to be walling the astro soon and wanted to get some ideas of what type of walls there are and whats the benefits to them.I am walling it with 8 18" icons I havent set the amp in stone yet but I am contemplating between a DC 12k or a Soundigital 16k. once again the amp is up for debate. There will be a multiple alternator setup with battery bank to supply the amp or amps that are chosen. but with all that out of the way! Dimensions I have to go with are 48" tall 51" wide and up to 97" deep but I really dont need that deep lol! we still need to leave room for amps and batteries! I was throwing around the idea of a clamshell or maybe a 4th order just not …

  17. Never used allthread in a high pressure install so need some small tips in this area. I know that when allthread is ran from one side to another that washers and nuts are used on both sides of a wall. So that means 1 run of allthread will have 4 washers and 4 nuts on it. What kind of washers and nuts am i suppose to use inside of the box to prevent them from coming loose? I looked at nylon lock nuts but i cant use those on the inside because to get the nuts on the inside, you have to roll em on before you slide the allthread through the other wall. So, roll nut one way then back the other way to lock in place... nylon nuts appear to only roll in one direction so i dont k…

What type of design would this be considered? Would it have any disadvantages to a regular ported enclosure? Drivers would be mounted during the enclosure being built. Is there any negative effects by having the drivers facing each other? any cancellation? What would be a good distance to have between the opposing cones? The more the better? Thanks

Now that i'm playing the find-a-car game again, the beetle is back on my list, for price reasons. I currently have nothing planned (well i know i want thump, but beyond that, nothing) With a budget of $3k what is the loudest you could get a beetle, tuned low, to peak around 27-29hz. Back seats are optional. Would like a pair of subs, but a single badass sub wouldn't be the worst. everything besides the fabrication of the box, is done by my hand. This seems like a backwards goal, but my desired show off songs would be, like, Trunk Bang by dorrough and I cook - by OJ da Juiceman. If the low tuning doesn't murk the score, i'd like to be able to compete. Mid 140's would be a …

Just waiting on getting my two 15" icons and, since I have nothing better to do I was wondering if there was any box type or orientation you'd like to see me try in my 2004 Impala. I'm going to try a ton of different boxes and orientations with a lot of testing to see what works out best in my application and I wanted to have some fun with it. I'm NOT doing a wall, but ill be pretty open to anything else you'd like to see me try. I might actually end up using your idea if it works out the best! -Mike
