For Starters it will be going in a 2004 Chevy Tahoe. My demensions i would like to stay in are:30Dx47Wx27H. Box will be for 2 18 inch DSS Ethos powered by a Soundqubed 3500.1 5cft net for each sub tuned to 32 hertz. I wanna do Subs Up Port back and havent decided if i want to go with aeros or a traditional slot port design. Which would be easier for a first time box builder? Included some photos of "my hoe". Thanks in advance for the help guys!!!!

they had it locked on to show just the highest db hit, so idk what i made on tones. my sweet spot is somewhere between 40-45hz but i hit 135.7 with my single 12" FI Q w/ BP Option, powered by SAE 1000D my first box, tuned to 31hz playing the opening of Tortilla Chips by T.Bizzy. mic on driver side dash, passenger door half down. in a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee. sub and port facing back hatch nothing fancy in here. i know when i bought it i was curious of some numbers, i know it's not made for SPL but i was somewhat impressed with what it did.

ok. i think i might have the box ready to go with all the deminsions. i play on putting 2 sundown nightshade 18s in my truck. i was told it need 12^2-16^2 inches of port area. so the box i came up with is 11.5 cubes, with a a port that is 33 inches tall and 5.5 inches wide, this will give me 181.5^2 inches of port area and i need 184 with the box size. its going to be tuned to 30hz. will this work out to be a good box? or do i need to do something different, just let me know

I am thinking about putting 2 SA-8 in my truck. I have a reg cab 03 S10. I need something small cause of the room issue. The box calculator on the RE Audio site gave me some weird dimensions. Like the port only having .25 inches gap to the back plate with a fz of around 33hz. Does that sound right? Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks

Okay I am stuck in VA on Fort A.P. Hill right now and can;t make a new box so thats out for now. My 2 boxes are built for DD9512's and are tuned to 47hz. I want better impact from them. They are facing the back hatch with the ports next to them so it looks like one big ass box with a split port in the middle (if you can follow this). Anyways this is in the back of a 99 Ford Explorer XLT. No sound deadoner yet. Tryign to get more impact in my back. Thinking maybe slide them closer to the gate???? J

Its been long time since i been getting all my equipment and now im only a couple of weeks from it :bigclap:. now im scared to design my own box because of the big box that is going to be and i dont want to mess up. i have a silverado ext cab and im taking the back seat out, no one fits back there anyways . Ok my max dimensions are 26L,24w,26h those are counting the thickness of the wood oh and i almost forgot the subs are gonna be 2 18's DC lvl 4 with lvl5 coils. i was thinking of having the subs front and port front in the bottom tune to 32 or 33 hz if anyone has has time to build me a design il totally appreciated.

  12. This is about the best fiberglass walkthrough I've found. My plan thus far is to cut out some holes in the door panels, make some MDF speaker rings, mount them to the door panels with little metal brackets, spread some fabric over it, and put a few layers of resiny fiberglass cloth over it. Sand and repeat, sand again. Am I missing anything?

  13. i have a box all designed on sketch up, 4.2cuft tuned about 30hz. the sub will be on the rear passenger side of the cab, it will take the middle seat and the passenger seat in the rear. the sub will aim inbetween the front two seats and the port will either face towards the roof of the cab all the way to the passenger side or towards the drivers side. what would you guys do? originally i was going to face the port towards the drivers side, but if i have a passenger in the back i think it might blow their ear drum a bit... but i am sceptical about aiming it towards the roof because i dont think ill have as much air moving throughout the cab as evenly? idk.. what would you …

Ok people, I decided that if I can go with around 3.5^ for each enclosure for the HD 15's, then i'm going with that. I know that isn't the optimal size for this sub, but it's just for a daily driver and not doing any competitions; basically trying to bump somebody out on a street situation. If this would be too small for the subs to actually put out at their full potential, then I would have to go with 2 of the HDC312's. I was thinking to take out the rear deck and have the subs/ports firing through there with having the space b/t the box and metal sealed. What's the input on this one?

Well I've almost got enough saved up for a fully loaded 18" btl. I have a 2003 extended cab s10 this will be going in. My maximum dimensions are 23.5"(h) x 18"(w) x 50"(l). Those are outer dimensions. This will be powered by a Sundown Audio Saz-3000d into 1 ohm :bigclap: . I was wondering if 6 ft^3 would be fine with that much power with 80 in^2 of port tuned to 30 hz.

Whats up guys, I'm kinda a noob here but I've been lurking around these forums for awhile trying to learn as much as I can before I start this project. I'm mainly here right now to talk about the box. I'm planning on building one myself and the specs are going to be 3.8cu ft tuned to 31Hz. I used a box calculator from a site called KlausAudio.com and I was going to see what you guys thought, because I've heard these online calculators can be off sometimes. Here is a list of the dimensions of the panels needed. The sub will obviously be a Fi Q15(Dual 2 ohm) and I'm planning on running it on a AQ1200D amp. And my car is a 2002 Camry. Just wanted to get some input from gu…

I've spent a couple hours sketching up various designs on re calc and torres box calc. However, all I hear about any of the box design apps out there is that they are total crap. Working as much as I do these days I simply don't have time to become an expert in this area. Also understanding that install is a huge factor, I don't want to screw the design up. I am looking to build something this Saturday and want to get it done right so I don't have to change it again because of an improper design. I know there are a bunch of you out there that can do this stuff in your sleep. I don't mind paying for a solid design with cut sheet, etc. (i have PayPal) I also don't need anyt…
