Would someone be so kind to briefly walk me thru the process of how to properly secure a fiberglassed roof? Basically.. i'll take the headliner down.. build a wall in my car, then from the B pillar on forward, that will be fiberglassed, ok? this is where i get lost.... How do i attach the fiberglass mold to the vehicle so i could remove it again if i needed to?

I came up with this design for my subs, but I am having trouble figuring out what size the enclosure will be since it's an odd shape. Just wondering how much space each sub will have with these dimensions.

So i've read on numerous threads that the RE box calculator tunes a tad bit high. Personally, i'm a noob when it comes to making boxes so this RE calculator is just a great tool!! I use it mixed with Win Isd to make my box! i just really wish win isd had a slot port option So for people like me, and many other box designing noobs the RE calculator is awesome!! Its free, easy to use, you can see what changing port dimensions do to your tuning. So, does the Re calculator ALWAYS tune high? is it the same everytime? I'm curious because i'm desiging, or trying to, a box for my friend for his first gen 15" icon which i purchased for him. Also, on a side note, when designing…

Metered with SPL-LAB same song and I got a reading of 160.1 @36 hz in the port and 146 @48 hz in the cabin. Does this sound right for the difference in frequency readings? Or is the deeper bass getting trapped in the trunk? Let me know what you guys think, thanks.

I am looking to have a ported box made for my 15" FI Bl and have looked into the group buy for khaotik enclosures but the box specs wont fit in my car. im looking for somewhere around 4 cubes sub up port back and am limited to 34" wide and about 14" tall the depth doesnt really matter. i would also like a double baffle and either some sort of coating or carpet applied to the box. thanks in advance for any advice and help.

I have a buddy that got a got a box from another friend for free and we noticed the port area after the turn at the back of the box isn't as wide as the port at the front. The first length of port is 2.5" wide, and the second length is 2". Will this cause any major difference in sound? I'm guessing it will slightly tune it less at 2" than if it was 2.5" in the 2nd length. Example:

Ok guys, I'm gonna need some help with an enclosure. First, some background. I have a friend who everyone had him talked into buying the usual kicker stuff, but luckily I got to him in time. This will be his first setup. Anyways, I coached him through buying an AQ2200D (could have chosen a better amp, I know, but his budget was sort of limited and we didn't feel like going through the hassle of looking for used deals on others), an 18" DC Lv5, and all the other bits. Should all be getting here by the end of this week. Alright now to the enclosure: The vehicle is a 2005 Tahoe Z71 (captain chairs in the rear). Now I measured awhile back, but if I remembered right, it should…

I had a 4th order bandpass box designed for me, but he didn't give me an output graph or tuning frequency or anything else. So before I build the box, I'd like to know what the output graph looks like (if there are any high/low peaks/dips in the curve at certain frequencies). How can I figure out what the 'range' of the box/sub is? I'm not sure how to ask this, but I'd like to know the frequency band width. Whats the lowest the sub should play and the highest the sub should play. So I know where to set my subsonic//lowpass filters. Can anyone help me? Let me know what measurements you might need or just tell me how I can calculate it.

Just got metered on an Audio control...Did it with music. One song (The one I figured was the loudest) hit 145.0db! The song was Plies - All Black slowed by wattz305 All the other songs we tried were in the 140-143.5 range. I went in figuring I'd be happy hitting those numbers. Around 40hz seems to be the sweet spot. Still wish I had access to a termlab though.

Attempting to fit two 18" drivers (fi bl) in 34" width. Each driver would be mounted to an angled piece of double baffle mdf. I made a simple rendering to give a visual: Width is 34", each angled piece would be 20"x20" and angled at 45degree angle. The distance from edge of box to where the angled pieces meet would be approx 10". enclosure will be ported, most likely with aero ports for the sake of being easy. Has anyone had any experience with a enclosure like this? output wise vs conventional ported enclosures? Does the fact of the drivers being angled towards each other cause any problems, cancellation, etc. any other input? thank you

Hi guys, I 'm always trying to improve my system. I have a 15" xcon and a 1500 watts Sundown saz amp. The car is a hatchback toyota Auris, with a little trunk. I had a slot ported box with sub up and port up, at 3.5 ft3 at 32 Hz. This box was too big for the trunk, but I thought it was not the right one for my car. I've heared this same box in a smaller car, with the same setup, and it was ...insane. In my car, it was not really loud. I have, now, a 3ft3 sealed box, with the sub firing back ; I found it was better than firing up. So, here is my question : if I want to do another ported box, what would be the best choice ? Sub and port firing back, or sub up and port back …

When Calculating port length, How can you enter the box volume after port displacement, without knowing what the port length will be. Or do you put in what you want your box to be after the displacements and then design a box that takes this into account. For example, if you want a box to be 4.5 cuft. after displacements you would use this to calculate the port length. Then after you have that you would calculate the port displacement lets say is .5 , SO you would do .5 + 4.5 to get 5 cuft., then design a box that is five cuft before port displacement and use the port length that was calculated to get the desired tuning? If someone needs further explanation please ask. …

Hey! I´m new here Just ordered a Warden 18 2x2 ohms thats going to sit in my SAAB 9000 coupé in the trunk. It will get about 4500 rms from a Soundstream Goliath Tarantula XXX 6500D. How big box do I need? I want to play loud (ofc) but loud to music, not to pure sinewaves. The music I´m playing is Lil Jon, Ludacris, Young Jeezy... that kind so tuned to 30 hz would be really nice Depending on what the FS is. Cant find it *If I´m spelling something wrong its because I´m Swedish *

ive been told that puttin carpet on the inside of a box will make the sub think the box is bigger there for sound better or louder. but i personaly like fiberglassing the inside to gurantee its super sealed and not falling apart ported or selad enclosure which would be the better idea or maybe carpet over fiberglass

Ok i have always used areo ports and now i want to try a slot. I have used a few calculators and they tell me my length needs to be 23in long for the tune i want what length are they referring to? Overall length of the port ? Can some one please help lol I am looking to build a 5cube box for 4 sa 10s tuned to 35-36 htz I figured with the displacement of the subs and port i woul need a gross volume of 5.8cubes that would bring the net volume down to 5-5.1 right ? So far i have gotten the measurements from the calculator width-45in heigth-20in depth-14in. This box is going in a quad cab ram so i have space. Am i right with these measurements? and i am shooting for a mix of …

I have my 3/4 thick mdf cut. Took me about 3 hours just to cut it. The only thing im confused about is putting 2 pieces of wood together. Would i have to apply wood glue to the 2 pieces, attach them together, and wait till it dries, then predrill, then screw? Im really confused. This is my first box. I dont want the edges to crack.
