Hey guys I am in meca and I am hitting a 144.9 on music with the car off because I am in AS2. I was told at the lastest show the Vinny if I were to make a so called fart box box size of 3.5 cubic feet with like two 6 in aero ports and tuning at like 50 hertz my current setup is 5 cubic ft after displacment and tuned at 40 htz I beleive. What I am wanting to know will this so called fart box get me any louder and see the bad thing is we don't have anyone with a termlab around me to test it. My set is a up memphis mojo 15d2 and I have a sundown 1200.1 with four guage and soon to be hopefully two runs of 0guage. Any help with this guys would mean alot to me and my dad. Also…

  7. I know I've seen plenty of people use spray/roll on bed linings for the outside of their enclosures and such. I am wondering two things though, was it applied to the bare MDF or with a primer on the MDF first and how well is it holding up after "x" amount of time? I'm about to start on the enclosure and amp rack for my Jimmy. I had planned to paint the port to match the truck and use standard charcoal colored cabinet carpet to cover the box and amp rack with. Though upon thinking about possible liquid damage to the MDF on the floor/amp rack I'll be building I thought perhaps the liquid bed liner may be the better route. I have no experience with it though so I was ho…

I realize this is somewhat subwoofer dependent, but what are the best tuning frequencies for different goals like spl or sq. Also what would be a good way to match a subwoofer to the goals, T/S parameters? Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

I am looking for someone in the Portland area to build a box for me. I am very capable but don't have the tools at the moment. I have the design. It a pwk. For 2 12's with a 6" aero. I don't trust the dealers out here, plus they'd want too much $$$.

  11. So i'm trying to "model", if that's the correct term, a subwoofer in WinISD and BBP6 as a comparsion between the programs.. They both tune the enclosure super low. WinISD picks a net volume; BBP6 didn't have a specified net volume. Neither suggest port area.. Whats going on? EDIT: BBP6 tuned to 23 Hz (super low), WinISD tuned to a reasonable 34 Hz (but net volume was like .5 cuft)

  12. Well I got a couple more 15" Rockford Fosgate RFR2215 Power DVC subs.. now I am ready to do my four 15's setup. At Slamology I got a 148.1 in DB Drag with 2 15's and 2 12's at 44hz. My goal with this new box build with four 15's is to hit 150db mark. I recently just started playing with Bass Box Pro and Google Sketchup and I have come up with a Design in Bass Box Pro and then tried to Model it the best I could in Google Sketchup so here it is. This will be powered by a T40001bd. 12 cubes after sub, port, bracing displacement with 1" MDF 4 6" PVC Ports 10.5" Long to get a tune at 38.01hz There will be a total of 9 1" Dowel rods for bracing in the box 4 from top to bottom 3…

alright so im building a box for 2 15" LI's. the box would be 33" in depth which gives me 3 inches from the hatch on my jimmy. i think i read on here somewhere that there should be a least 6 inches for it to load off whatever the ports facing. the subs would be on top and port on bottom.

Planing on tuning it to almost 42 hz. This will be a competition box for my 04 jeep liberty. Subs up port back left. My question is what type of sq foot should i use for this box. Alpine's site says use around 2.5^2 per sub in a ported enclosure. Also if it matters im planning on running these off of a Sundown SAZ 2500d

  20. Hi guys, I will be building the pre cut enclosures I calculated under RE enclosure calculator but there are a few things I would like to verify. I would like to tune the box between 33-35Hz @ 1.8-2.0 cubic ft. However, I just read that the RE calculator is not accurate. So I searched and found this website Enclosure Volume Calculator (EVC) and made the following calculations: Box Width 23 Inches Box Height 15 Inches Box Depth 15 Inches Material Thickness 0.75 Inches Number of Drivers 1 Total Total Port Volume 258.188 Inches3 -----> see calculations below: Port Width 13.5 Inches Port Height 1.5 Inches Port Depth 12.5 Inches Driver Volume …

Ok, so I have a 3.3 total cuft box as a center console and i cannot reach over to the other side of the truck to roll down the window/unlock the door. (no power windows/locks sucks) I hear if you add poly fill to an enclosure, the enclosure behaves as if it is larger.. So I was thinking build a smaller box, but add polyfill to make it seem larger. So in the end, I will not have sacrifice output with a smaller box. If this is possible, about how much air space could polyfill potentially account for?

Hey, I have a whole trunk to fill on a Impala 1972. I plan on either getting (4) 12 BTL or (2) 15 BTL. What do you guys suggest for this trunk and setup? I have seen 4 12s in a straight box going across but dont know if these require more space. Maybe have two on either side in an arrow up formation, speakers facing the rear trunk. ( ^ ). I plan to build it square ported and have an appeal once done.

I have a honda accord 99 with a trunk vent (8"x3" slot) behind the paneling on the driver side. I notice the other day that there was a lot of air leaking through there when the bass note hits. Would sealing this up help with spl and is this bad for the car? My box is in the trunk sub and port facing back. Just wanted to know if anyone had this problem and what did you do to it?
