I was wondering how to build a ported box for 2 18" btl loaded each one in its own chamber for a 03 Yukon and how to tune it between 30 and 35 Hz. I'm looking get some serious bass. What are some dimensions I can use with the speakers facing up? I will be running them on two saz-3000d. Hello again I'm looking for spl in my 03 yukon. I am looking at running 2 Fi Btl 18" on 2 Saz-3000D amps in this amount of space. H 21" W 46.5 D 22-28". So what do you think? I need help with the box and port dimensions. Once I have an idea I will start the building. I need all the help I can get. Thanks

Alright, iv basically all over the map trying to consider what type of subs i wanted. Iv made up my mind now and i kind of wanted to know your opinion. I was thinking about going with two Fi 12"Q's, OR two Fi 15" Q's in a ported box, running off a Crescendo BC2000D. Now in order to eliminate trunk rattle, i was told sealing it off from the trunk and firing it forward was a good idea. The only problem is that i cant fold my rear seats down, now i do have the option of buying rear folding seats for about $300. I guess i dont really have a specific question.. just tell me what you think, any improvements or different ideas you think would work best. Since im…

i have two idq12's in a 1.7 cubic sealed box powered by one dls A6(875@2ohm-1200@1ohm). i listen to mostly metal so i need the sub to be able to keep up with the fast double kick-drum. the problem with my set-up is i can keep up with the beat but lack lowend. i took out my xtant 1000/1 think it was the subsonic filter frequency blocking low notes. it must be the box- what is the best application for a truck

Little problems nothing serious. Built enclousure for some 18inchrolling zcons limited on space but couldnt pass the offer up on some z's. Box is small for ported box and tuned high with a smallamount of port are, basically if you could mess a box up and screw yourself over in output this is the box. 180inchs of port area withc4.5cubes per 18 tuned at 40hz not that happy with the output even on a .5ohm load on a sendo with electrical back it up. My question iss would i see a day and night difference if i built a single 18 box the biggest i could build out of my space? Pics of the franksteinvbox xustom finish on it.

I'm going to build a box for a buddy of mine that has a 1988 Camaro Iroc-Z. It's not going to be in the wheel weld as of other boxes. But right behind the rear seats. In this picture where the amp is located, there will be an enclosure for them, and it won't cover up the whole trunk area. I am going to use dual 4" Areo ports, and I was wondering how long will they have to be to have a tuning of 32-32hz. I'm thinking 1.6-8 cubes in total for both subs, and the amp I am using is a Polk Audio 4channel 800 watt amp that will be bridged to run at 4 ohms. The aim is mostly for SPL since there is no true SQ. But he would like to be able to listen to a variety of music, such as:…

I have an old sub box that came with an RE SX15 I bought used. It is 3.1 cu ft net before driver displacement. It has 2-3" aero ports in it. 9" long. I used it before with the sx15 wired at 2 ohms on my saz-1500d. I never heard any port noise, but it didn't sound great. I later built a 4.25 net cu ft box for the RE tuned to 30 hz. It sounds great. Well I think I have a buyer for the RE and was wondering if an SA15 would work in the old box. It's about the right volume and tuning would be right about 35hz(recommended) but it's seriously low on port volume. I was also thinking I could put a third port in it for burps and bump tuning from 35-45hz. Not to mention increasing …

Ok, so now I'm hooked. I have the 2 12" zcon's in and the 2500d. Now I want more. Have an eye on a ns-1. What will I need to do for a competition box? Keep in mind that I do have a s-10 extended cab 3 door and it is a daily driver that I want to make into a competition truck. Current box is supposedly 4.75^3 at 36hz? I think the hz is correct. Have to double check. It was designed by ram-designs. It's a angled back or trapezoid style box. Top is 14x43, bottom is 20x43 and it is 18 tall. I come uP with 5.4^3 after sub displacement. What do I need to do? What is the difference in a comp box vs a ported box?

I need to build a slanted box and obviously the port is going to need bending. Should I go with a labyrinth port or an l-shaped port ? How do I calculate the lenght of the port, because the top part of it is going to be shorter than the bottom. Should I average the lengths ? A couple pictures might help... To my understanding that would be an overall length of ~40cm. Am I right or am I terribly wrong ?

So my build calls for my 4" aeros to be about 38" long so I have to do some piping in my box with 90 and 45 degree turns. When measuring I'm assuming I stay in the middle the whole time and measure flare tip to tip? The turns are what throw me off when measuring. Thanks guys

i had a rockford fosgate t1d415 before and ive been messing around with custom boxes for a little while. i didnt know too much about winisd back then. luckily my first box i built for it played very nice and didnt have any port noise. i tuned it around 34hz if i remember correctly. i loved how low it could get down. i played into the lower/mid 20's (i know i was playing a bit lower than the tuning freq) and loved it. this time around im going to design a box for my fi sp4 15. it should be here any day (i hope) and i'd like to be tuned low. heres my current design for it. can you guys let me know if my design is ok. i know the port is a little skinny but it looks like the …

i currently have a fi btl 12". tunned at 34 hertz, hitting 139.7db. i was told that tunning higher is better for hitting high spl. there is a competition comeing up on the 10th. and the kids at the local car audio dealer ship told me that there were people with 1 12" hitting 142's. does anybody no how high i should tune my box so i can compette.

  19. alrighhtttyy guys.... i got a tricky build that i need some help with. I'm putting two SPL-15s in the trunk of a 01 chrysler sebring sedan. The subs are going to front firing and im just going to keep the back seats down (when i put them up for people to sit in them i will just cut the subs off). The trunk is pretty flat and the box should be pretty easy to load in from the car with the seats folded down. I have L29 x W34 x H18 to work with, Im guessing both subs will be put in one chamber. Im open to either slot or tube ports, just need help coming up with a design. All of the parameters are here. I appreciate it alot and please help a fellow forumer out =]

I assumed that 3/4" MDF is like 3/4" plywood in that the actual thickness is 1/2", or am I wrong? Thanks, Ed

  22. got my iCONs in, and im starting a few enclosures.. problem is, im not sure what kind of airspace is optimal.. id rather build 1 or 2 boxes and play with the tuning rather then ad to my collection of T&E boxes.. hoop of the trunk is unbelievably small, so the box might be split into 2 boxes.. ive got a few solid ideas for boxes that have measured out to 2.5 each sub.. should i be shooting for over 3.0??? from DevilDriver's review it seems the subs like the biggest possible enclosure.. il post pics in a few
