  2. Would someone be so kind to briefly walk me thru the process of how to properly secure a fiberglassed roof? Basically.. i'll take the headliner down.. build a wall in my car, then from the B pillar on forward, that will be fiberglassed, ok? this is where i get lost.... How do i attach the fiberglass mold to the vehicle so i could remove it again if i needed to?

Ok so since i have a trunk, and its a luxury car all of the bass is staying int he trunk. I cut a hole in the panel in the back and put a gril over it, and its loud enough in the cab, but i got and and listened to it yesterday and my treble is still killing my bass, i mean when you get out you can hear it but not like you should. I went back to the trunk and i could feel a nice breeze of air exscaping through the cracks. What to do, i was thinking of either cutting a bigger hole taking off the whole panel or taking out the back seat well trying to.

so i think i wanna make some new boxes for my 18" BTL's they sound great in the boxes there in right now but i think i can gain a little more output with some new better made boxes. right now there in a 2000 dodge caravan. the boxes are 8.756 cubes tuned around 32-33hz sub up port up. i have been told by a friend that also runs 2 15" btls in a caravan that sub up port up does not really gain the maximum potential out of the cabin. so i was thinking about making the new boxes sub up port back. what do you guys think about differant setups like sub up port back sub up port side sub back port up which one do yall think would be the best? and can any one explain what port off…

I've always designed the box with the port on the side, but now I need it in the middle (using 2 subs). I do know that when the port splits off the port width gets halved, but is the whole length of the port mean that each side is the port length? Let's say I have a box that is 6" wide and 30" long. When it splits off each side will have a width of 3", but does each side equal 30" long? Someone also told me that you add half of the width of the port to each side of the port length. So each length would actually be 33" long. I don't know why that would work though. When I design boxes I use torres and there's a box that says "# of common port walls". I put 2 in there, …

I never tried this until about 3 months ago when a friend who had W-6's in his truck awhile back said that JL's tend to hit harder in a Ported Enclosure w/ Polyfill stuffed throughout the enclosure. Does anyone know if this is true or not? I have had my 15's in single Ported Enclosures w/Polyfill for about 2 to 3 months and I'm not positive but I think it might be hittin harder but also I have a PPI amp now running these subs when before I had Phoenix Gold XS2500! That could be why also! What do you Fellas think? I have just picked up another PPI PC2150 tonight about an hour or so ago on my way home from work too! So this is my setup now! 2 15's W-6's ran parallel to one …

I have an '04 focus Sedan and I want more midbass. I currently have some walmart pioneer 6x8s in the doors but I just bought some MLI65s and some peerless 2" fullrangers and I figured while I am taking the doors apart I should probably fix the giant holes. My doors look like this: http://www.reversestress.com/other/FocusDoorb4_293.jpg. Well not exactly, mine are red and they still have a bunch of foam on them. But anyway, my midbass sucks. How do I cover up these holes so I can better separate the back wave from the front wave? Oh, and I just bought an SAX100.4 to power them.

Okay this first pic is the side view. This is in my trunk and it will be set into my wheel well but will also go about 4-5 inchs above that level. My first question is; would firing my woofer into the back of my seats pose any significant problem or reduction in output? Also, can I place my port outside of the box extending into the cabin or would this potentially pose a problem?

Metered with SPL-LAB same song and I got a reading of 160.1 @36 hz in the port and 146 @48 hz in the cabin. Does this sound right for the difference in frequency readings? Or is the deeper bass getting trapped in the trunk? Let me know what you guys think, thanks.

  13. I want to mount a Double DIN unit in my 1.5DIN dash opening. Yes, I know it is 1" taller, and I know I need to be doing some modifications. I can handle that. My problem is, the unit I want to use does not come with a cage. http://www.crutchfield.com/S-qehudI3MTzg/c...550&I=257AVX706 So, I need to fabricate a way of installing the Double DIN in the dash without use of a cage. Perhaps I can use an already existing kit... and mold it into my factory stereo trim piece. The whole bezel over the stereo and HVAC controls comes off. And use a kit like this one: http://www.scosche.com/scosche_caraudio.as...&ItemID=HA1566B Mold the kit right to the bezel, then slip it in…

Ok, so my buddy does a real decent job at painting and can do pretty decent job at detailed pictures. So what i wanna know is how can i get this type of painting onto an enclosure. Its made with MDF wood 3/4" thick if that means anything. Now im also trying to figure out how to paint this wood so it will look smooth and as less like wood as possible, which means if that cant be done then the detailed painting may not work. Anyways what i want to know is what can i do to the surface, that wont ruin sound quality, that i can paint primer or whatever onto in order to do this paint job to it? im at a complete stop here so any links or anything will help me out at this point. …

  23. I'm just looking for some pointers on where I could look for reputable information on designing 2 way passive, 2 way active and (after some practice) eventually 3 way active front stages. Just stuff like, what to keep in mind as far as driver selection, particular features to look for when choosing a certain driver, and how to design passive crossovers. I was daydreaming and hit a roadblock when I realized, what the hell do I even know about a quality front stage? I can't say much at all, other than, deaden, and airseal the speakers. So I feel like it's time to start learning, might even have some applicable tips on hand for when the new truck is ready I'm plannin…
