SPL & SQ / Fabrication

Was wondering if anyone on here could offer me a reaonable design for a btl 18 for free. I have a guy at the car audio forums that has always done mine for a small fee (they are reasonable). BTL 18 Tuned to ~30 hz. ~ 5-6 feet ^3 48 inches wide... and max of 24 inches high.

i have a 1997 mercury mountaineer with 2 fi q18's DRUMMING~! they are powered by a t20001bd rockford. i am losing so much pressure out of the back glass do to flexing. do they make clamps for the back hatch to hold it down? its a daily box in now and will future be a crx style spl box. i currently have a 12 cube crx style box with 120 sq. inch of port. thanks for any and all help! My friend just got his first non kicker sub and he got a fi bl 15 he is putting it in the back of his Chevy extended cab he can make it about 15-18 inches deep 17 inches high and can be up to around 50 inches long he wants his box about 5 cubic feet and 32 htz can anyone help with a design

Is the opening of a slot port supposed to be on the face of the enclosure, same direction as the sub is facing? All the boxes I have seen have them there...is that the requirement, or, just common way to build it?

Yup, I think it's worthy of a new thread. Tomorrow I have to lug this PC out into the hot muggy humidity again, cuz as if it wasn't enough that the guy made me realize I could/should get so much more out of my tweeters with his Memphis 5.25 coaxials shredding my drums, but he went to bragging that his Anarchys and/or SA pro 8's could prolly do well in the 129dB class. So for the fun of it I went out and dropped the PXA-H701's from 50Hz to 25Hz, still 30dB/oct, left the Kicker at 50Hz 12dB/oct.... cuz I keep thinking about how the REW sweeps showed a cliff dive at 125Hz peaking again at 65Hz for another dive. All my experience in audio comes with sealed enclosures, even so, after having visited this site, I feel like my past work was rather half assed and mindless. This is what I have so far: I am planning on using two soundsplinter rli10s, and I could be perfectly content with keep it sealed, but I want to try my hand at porting and perhaps learn something new. I have been trying to talk to a few people about porting this enclosure, but I am not really getting any good information, and I am also reluctant to trust any information from WinISD. From what I understand, that program can be slightly flawed. My box is 1.08 cubic feet after all displacements are taken into account…

I found measurements for an enclosure for my 2 12 inch pioneer champ pros tsw3002d4. The box is tuned to 33 hz. I was just curious as to whether that would be good for my subs or too low? The amp I am using is a hifionics zeus 3000 watt zrx3000.1d. This will be my first box build so I want to be as clear as possible. I used RE audio calculator if that is any good.

I need to make a snorkel for my truck so i need to build a fiberglass tube that goes through my fender and up the A pillar. how should i go about building a fiberglass tube in this manor? also what is the customary way to attach such a thing to the outside of the vehicle? thanks.

Hey, I have a set of TC-7 woofers. Right now the box its in is 40x12x12 with independent chambers. Aero port out each chamber to the side 3'' in diameter and 13'' long. Its to long for what I need it now. So I was thinking making it 36x14x14. That way it would be short enough and then I could have the ports fire forwards too. Sound good? But I know these were designed for large sealed apps. however i cant find specs for that. Could someone just give me some dimentions to make a box? I dont need 3d plans and all that. Just something l x w x h because I dont know how much airspace for sealed. Thanks

i am trying to build a box for 4 of my kicker cvx 15's. i called kicker and they recommending using separate 3.5 cub. ft chambers tuned to 38 hz. since this is gonna be my first box build is there an easier less way to build the box without having 4 separate chambers? maybe 2 subs per port or all 4 with one port. it is going inside the car. maybe even a wall design. my available space is 32x56x36.

hey guys, I have recently purchased a 2006 subaru legacy 2.5i. my previous car i had 2 12 inch gcons on a sundown 1500 amp, a 6 cubic foot box that i sealed into the cabin. was wondering what would be effected if i were to seal the box instead of port it and still reverse the subs facing the cabin. so run a 3 cubic foot box sealed off from the trunk with the subs facing the cabin. i just am wondering if this would work. or if it would sound like shit. haha. i have the box designed to fit into the trunk so i can seal it off. This is what happens when you get wood cut at home depot. I got all my cuts at home depot and some are 1/16 to short. they wasnt using the regular saw. i was wondering can i use some sealer tape for the cracks?

Okay so, I got my designs, and lowes completly messed up all the cuts, so I have to take it back and complain and hope that they give me new wood or something..... So in the meantime, I just "sketched" up this box. what type box would you suggest for a sq setup i know the norm is sealed but i've heard a few ported boxes and they sound pretty nice give me some of the pros and cons of both btw subs being looked at are idqv2 12" IA LI 12" and SA-12 thanks for any heip provided

Hey SSA Members I have 2 Mtx 9510-44 that I am looking to design an enclosure for, now I'm not to sure if its possible but I think it is, I would like to be able to do hair tricks, for power I have a Lightning Audio 3000 watt mono amp which is putting out a steady 1900 watts, the car is an 03 cavalier with factory electrical big 3 and two optima red tops. I'd like to fire the subs forward and possibly run the port on the rear deck lid sealing off the trunk from the cabin. my max dimensions are 36x16.5x24 I dont think it needs to be that big but I am new to hair tricks so I need some direction Thanks everyone.

i got bored and decided to draw this up, its right around 2.5 cubes @ 35 hz. gonna be for two 10's ( AQ SDC2.5's) Its gonna go in my chevy std. cab. Any comments or suggestions?

So like it says how do you figure out the right measurments for 2 or more round or square port? and im asking because im thinking of doing a dual L port design for a 12" BTL. box will be tuned to 34 hz and will be 2.5 cu ft after displacement. so how do you figure out length and port area for each port? also if you know how ot do the circle ports it would be nice to know that as well. because i might end up going the aero port route.

First off, can I count on port end correction to lower the tuning freq of my enclosure? For example, NET Vol. = 2.6 cuft. or 4493 cuin. Port: 12.5" wide x 3.375" high X 24" long without end correction, (port length = 24") tuning = 38.58Hz with end correction, (port length = 25.6875") tuning = 37.52Hz I know 1Hz difference in tuning isn't really audible (but the end correction factor will differ in different situations i.e. port height, etc), but I want to know if the end correction factor actually exists!!!! Secondly, I'm about to build a box for one DD 9512g. DD recommends 42 in^2 port area with 22 port length with 2.6 cuft NET vol. which yields 39.97 Hz tuning …

Ok so my buddy is putting 2 old school JL W6 15's in his extended cab frontier. About how big should his box be, he wants to go sealed. And which way should the subs face? Towards the back of the seat or facing up??????
