  1. Okay so I went to Home Depot to get some MDF, Glue, & Screws. So I see the 3/4" MDF and grab a sheet. Then I get home, take it off the truck and find out it's 5/8" instead. Would it be okay to use 5/8" instead of 3/4"? Its going to be for a Single Cab, Downfiring Enclosure, With a Double Baffle. Sub will be AQ HDC3 12"

  4. After doing the math i come up with a .825 cubic foot enclosure which doesn't seem to leave me with room for ports. Can someone help me out here please? What should my internal volume be? I used the box calculator at the12volt.com, is there a different calculator I should be using? Thank You to anyone who can help me.

Just as the title says, I'm paying this kid 10$ for a box design. He is going to be working with me to help figure it out what would be the best results, I think so atleast... Is that a decent deal?

Hey guys, I have been modeling different alignments for my Dayton RSS265-4 HO woofers. I like the look of 1.2-1.4 cu.ft after displacement for both of the tens, tuned around 30 hz. My question to you guys is how much port area I should shoot for? Would two 3" aeros be adequate? According to the modeling program, I would exceed 25m/s vent velocity using 2 3" aeros, but not by much. This install isn't meant to shatter spl records and each woofer will probably never see more than 300 watts, so taking this into account I don't really think I need such large port area. Looking for suggestions, Thanks

Hey SSA Members I have 2 Mtx 9510-44 that I am looking to design an enclosure for, now I'm not to sure if its possible but I think it is, I would like to be able to do hair tricks, for power I have a Lightning Audio 3000 watt mono amp which is putting out a steady 1900 watts, the car is an 03 cavalier with factory electrical big 3 and two optima red tops. I'd like to fire the subs forward and possibly run the port on the rear deck lid sealing off the trunk from the cabin. my max dimensions are 36x16.5x24 I dont think it needs to be that big but I am new to hair tricks so I need some direction Thanks everyone.

For the past couple of months I have been playing around with imaging. been reading everything I could get my hands on, even picked several brains along the way. I started my project with simple goals in mind. But after listening to others systems, as well as my own. My goals keep getting raised I built the kicks allready. Temporarily using a pair of $1 crunch midbasses ( I love yard sales ) and a pair of large format PE silk domes. Simple inline crossovers. powered by an rf 200a4. To my amazement, and a few others. The sound was rather nice with no processing what so ever. So my goal has now changed once again. I was originally building towards a single seat soundstage…

  17. I am planning on designing a box for my rli-8s I am getting and I am trying to figure out a way to latch down the box in 2 places. I want the box to sit in the well for daily driving and I want it to sit up top when I take the t-tops off. I want to design something like the back seats on the nissan quests. There is a compartment where it hinges down into to stow the seats. I am thinking about going to the junkyard and looking around for some hinges and latches that I could use. Does anyone have any ideas? I can draw it up in paint if yall want. Thanks guys

  23. Well, because i will be removing the weight issue in my car soon, nothing stands in my way now for my next build so i need anyone's opinions on the strongest build u can think of. Any negative thoughts about any methods is 100% welcome as i don't want something that will fail. Here is one method i have been thinking about but remember, i'm looking for the best option(within costs, hehe, dont wanna spend several grand on an enclosure) Option1- Lay 2x4s on their side(so 3.5" thick) all the way around the car. Then inside of this chamber, lay 1 layer of 3\4" Oak inside. Install Angle Iron outside of the enclosure and weld 1\8" thick steel bars to all corners of the Angle Ir…

I have a couple measurements... 41w x 34d x 34h That's the external (gross) measurements. I plan on tuning it around 30hz. I was also wondering where to put the port. This will be my semi daily driver (I have 2 vehicles), and I am not looking to hit any high numbers. I want this thing to get loud and low. Also any kind of tips/pictures/diagrams/explanations/ect. for a wall and dancefloor would be greatly appreciated. And yes, I have put some effort into this by reaching out and contacting many people so please do not respond in here if I have already …

hey guys, I have recently purchased a 2006 subaru legacy 2.5i. my previous car i had 2 12 inch gcons on a sundown 1500 amp, a 6 cubic foot box that i sealed into the cabin. was wondering what would be effected if i were to seal the box instead of port it and still reverse the subs facing the cabin. so run a 3 cubic foot box sealed off from the trunk with the subs facing the cabin. i just am wondering if this would work. or if it would sound like shit. haha. i have the box designed to fit into the trunk so i can seal it off. I am trying to save space (i snowboard in the winter) roof racks can only carry boards. id have more than half the trunk left with the box ive designe…
