  1. Me and a buddy are building a box for 3 12 inch w6's, I was curious if I could have them all in the same chamber or if I should divide them all into individual boxes we already have the entire box built excluding the face of the box.. The dimensions are 51 3/4 wide by 16 1/8 tall by the top board is 15 inches deep and the bottom board is 18 7/8 deep (the box will have a slant face)(I am also using 3/4 inch mdf). I would also like to know how big I should build the port I wanna get about 32-33 hertz. Any help would be very much appreciated.

  5. I don't really want to order this stuff and have to wait for it so i wonder if i be alright using some things just lyin around the house? The space i got to fill isn't too large really. IT's about 3-4" wide and about 8" tall and the deeper the better. I was thinkin about stuffing all kinds of shirts that i dont wear anymore in there.. I'm sealing a wall and i gots to seal around a window and i'm not spraying foam on my glass so thick material is the only option. You think shirts or blanket sheets will work fine?.... then i'll just spray foam on this to complete the seal...

Well, I'm adding 2 more DP21"s to my Expedition in a month or two. I was planning on doing a clam wall at the B-pillars. But I also started thinking doing a diamond type enclosure would be pretty sweet too. So I'm looking for some opinions on what you think would be louder, first and foremost, and look better. Which ever design I go with will be at the B-pillars, between 35 and 40 cubes, tuned to 32hz. Please explain why you voted the way you did. I have never done either of these designs, so any tips are also appreciated. The subs.

I need help with a box design for a 15" Mach5Audio MAW sub. The recommended sealed box size for this sub is 62 litres (2.2 cu.ft.) 30hz tuning. I would like an enclosure designed exactly to these specs if possible. Thanks in advance!

  9. So Im building my box but am confused as hell. Ive read I need 12-14sq. in. of port per ^3 but the manufacturer insists on 40sq. in. x10" long @32hz. for a 6^3 net box for my 18. Its an Atomic APX. When I spoke with them they said dont listen to anybody build this exact. WTF?! Any idea why? Its rated at 5000rms. Would the larger port make it unload at low freq. with that much power and thats why they say what they say? Shouldnt it have massive port noise?! Im so confused. Someone please straighten me out on why they want it EXACTLY as they say and yet the port area doesnt make sense?

I have two alpine type r 12's and i want to build a crx-style box for them. This is the design i came up with using the max dimensions i can inside my vehicle. I really can't seem to get the tuning quite right, and it says its about 30hz, but what is the ideal frequency to tune to for daily driving? Also any helpful hints to getting this box to stay together? I blew the port off the screws in my bandpass like two weeks ago. EDIT: And yes the subs are going to go on the top.

  11. The box is for a pair of DC Level 4 18's in the back of a 2007 Suburban with all seats in, including the third row.I have the following for outer dimensions to work with: 27 x 49 x27 Now my drawing shows a height of 26 1/2, but I'm only counting the height at 25 3/4 in the Box Calc program because the top board was double baffled. I'm seeing a box tuning at 33hz. Here is my other design, this one is pretty much the same as the first except for both subs and port firing up. What do you guys think? Box Design: I think I still like the whole port and subs up design better. My current box is a dual chambered double slot ported box. Each chambered tunned to 32hz. Has anyone…

  14. Hey everyone, I have a dilemna. I want to throw a nice pair of 12s (or 15s if I could) in the back of my trailblazer, but I want to save space. I have 2 young boys and I need to haul a lot of stuff sometimes (golf clubs, snowboards, etc). I have a Sundown 2000 that should be delivered in 2 days, so I want to work around it. Quentin from Audibel is going to be building the box for me, thus I'm pretty much looking at SSA or IA subs. I'd love a pair of 15" Xcons, but you do what you gotta do. I figure I have a few options. Either a box up against the back seat(rear-firing?), or a false floor(firing up). I'm open to suggestions. For the box against the back seat I was leani…

I've posted this on some other places and I'm trying to get some feedback..I've ran into a dilemma. I don't know if I should carpet my door panels or if I should just go ahead and paint them. I have quite a bit of black carpet lying around and I think paint wouldn't be as durable since door panels can flex from every day use and it's kind of tedious prepping plastic for paint. Four 6.5's in each door. passenger side:

I remember playing around with making boxes and stuff and had some different software. I had somebody guide me through it before, I had a box deign for my other truck. But with it, I have to make some decent modifications to it to put a box in it. With my Jeep I can just design a box, go pick up the stuff, make it and drop it in. I think now that I can do that, I will actually pay more attention to how to do a box, have more interest in it. I was recommended subs up port up on the drivers side, not sure if it will fit or not. The max exterior size the box can be is 41.5"w, 16.5"d,21"t... I'd like to design a box myself but obliviously get some help with it. I think if I …

Hey Y'all, im new to this (Forum) well im in the market for some new subs and dont have a big multi thousand dollar budget becouse im only 17 and am working on a farm this summer, well any way i was looking at some Alpine 15"s and was doing some measuring/planning and ive come to realize that i dont have enough or much room in the trunk of my 89' ford thunderbird so im just going to stick with 12's and after seeing/hearing vid's on youtube of the Fi SSD's they sound like some pretty good/stout subs for the money. well i was noticeing that the subs have a rateing of 800 wrms and im guessing the maximum would be around 1,600-1,800 watts but ive been told these subs can hand…

  22. Price completly aside, how much better sound quality would you get with door pods vs components in a fully deadened door? I have a Crown Vic and my main goal is to get the best possible sound out of the components I'm gonna be getting. I'm going with the Image Dynamics XS series components. If I get them in the doors I'm gonna go with stock size 5x7s(XS-57). If I do the pods I'll go with the 6.5s(XS-65). Again my main goal is the sound quality of the comps so if the door pods sound just slightly better, than I'll pass. If the difference is dramatic though, its something I'm really gonna take a look at. I know there are a lot of variables involved in anything like this s…
