Well, I built the box as recommended by Bromo but somewhere when I was taking measurements I messed up. It is currently 35Wx15Hx19D. If I take 1.5-2 in. off the width and extend the depth? Would I still get the sound as before?

I am looking for good SQ 12s... I have two Skar vvx 12s now and they do not sound good at all. They shake my car like crazy but I can not feel the bass inside or out of the car.. So what kind of subs should I look for to get the best SQ in my Chrysler 300? Bass I can feel and not see!

Would a box that is 2.046 cubes after all displacements with 2 ports that are 1.875x8x22" (will be behind my back seat in my truck) be ok or sound good or give me fair spl numbers with 3 or 4 sa-8s v1 d2s or 3 or 4 orphan 8s in it running off a crescendo bc2000? Is it enough port area? Box volume? Is there anything I should change?

  6. Hey guys. I recently completed my build using an IA DR12 in 2.2 cubes at 31 hz. My port area right now is 25 in^2. I do get a some port noise on the lower notes in some songs. I was just wondering if I should rebuild a box using more port area. Just not sure if it would make a differance or not. It gets plenty loud right now, I just have had a "what if" idea in my head since I noticed it. Any input would be great. Thanks Tony Nelson

I would like to build a 4th order since I never have and see how loud I can get this guy for shits and giggles. Problem is I don't know where to start on designing one.

First off, i know i already posted this in general car audio, but i just wanted to get as many opinions as possible, and i always seem to more replies in here than anywhere hahah. Sub: Fi BL 18 with flatwind and p chamfer Amp: Hifonics bxi2006d (again, its not sundown or anything, but it should get the job done for now and even if it is overrated, i think 1800 should push a bl just fine. Wiring: Knuconcepts.. look Not included in the kit are RCAs and the speaker wire. Also should i get 10 or 12 gauage, and what do i need to fit it into the terminal on the sub? Enclosure: 6^3ft after all displacement and port, and tuned to 34.4xxx hz. I guess what i'm looking for is the O…

  17. alrite i started a thread on here not to long ago abou tthe elastomeric coating that steve meade used on the inside of the his box and didntt get many replys. i am pretty much done with glassin the inside of my box but i havent started sanding yet. i read about painting the inside with 2 stage paint making it alot louder becasue the waves travel better across a smooth hard surface. but the only problem is i would have to sand the inside to no end. i was plannin on sanding it to an extent and then sprayin it with spray filler primer and going from there. but i have a deadline in a few months and i dont know if this is going to be possible. another factor is that i will bea…

That was the 1st box i ever made on that other thread, lol, i dont think i ever tried it out, hmm. but here are the real pics The port looks extra small if you ask me.But its sposed to be 32hz Now i'm not sure if i want to add in this extra piece right here are not, if i do i have to cut it at an angle because the subs depth is more than my ports length Ply wood Did that even look like an 18in hole to u guys, ahh come on now Oh and does this need bracing of coarse

I have 2 AQ SDC2.5 with an AQ1200D amp. I have a 5 Cube box for them now but due to the fact that it wasnt planned out very good the box in crap and is all but falling apart now. I came up with another design but im not sure how well this will work. The subs call for 2.5 cubes a piece but with my new design it will be around 2.2 cubes a piece and the subs would be pointing pretty much up. I know that these are not ideal conditions for the subwoofers however how much do you think this would effect the overall sound. This is it any comments plz.

Looking at sub manufacturer recommendations, box sizes for each sub can vary by quite a bit. I'm just curious what the difference is. I know that a larger box decreases power handling of the woofer, but is there any difference in sound? Is a smaller box more susceptible to peaking? Sorry for the newb question - I'm trying to decide what will fit in the trunk. Thanks guys.
