hi all i recently purchased a fi q 18 to go in my 95 4 door explorer and now i need to come up with the plans for the box so i can start building. my maximum dimensions for the box are 40 wide by 40 deep by 22 high. i am a some what skill full carpenter but i need help in the tunning area. also if anyone has a similar setup to what i will have and still has the plans lying around i would greatly appreciate it or if someone could use or tell me where i can find a box calculator to spec out this box that would also be greatly appreciated. oh and lastly i am open to using a t line but would need the plans to build one. …

Hi I am starting my build very shortly and I have a question on making the sub box. I have made L slot port boxes before but for my 2 12" Fi SSDs I want to make the port in the middle. So the question I have is can I make it by just calculating for 1 of the subs and just build it together? Space is not an issue. Thanks ahead for all the input

Needing recommendations on any and all used or heard systems with excellent SQ that have either personally blown you away or proved themselves in competition recently. Any info and opinion on the following are welcome with my proposed equipment in () Wiring thru KNU like always, damp pro like a pro, BIG 3, H/O alt if needed(pref not that much draw on a TL) and upgraded battery as install dictates. OEM integration - a must for this build sadly(360.2 by RF) sound processors (audio control, best model for needed corrections) component speakers - 2 sets F/B most likely fiberglassed to bring soundstage up (CDT, have loved every set I heard if installed right. I'm somewhat new to using WINISD and I was wondering why there is no SPL increase when a larger area port is used. Although I understand that if the enclosures are tuned to the same frequency their relative resistance is the same but it just seems like a larger port would yeild more spl (in the same fashion horns get really loud). Can anyone clear this up for me. I'm not asking about beligerently small port areas but lets say the diff between a 20sq. inch port and a 50. Same sub, box, tuning etc. Your answer doesn't need to include stuff I have already read in the thread about vortexes and air resistance. (but then again perhaps I missed something) Thanks, b

I'm kinda interested in doing a T-line or horn or ABC enclosure, just want to do something different, or at least see if it will work. I read a couple of articles on T-line design, but I don't really want to do that much math. I'm just looking for some general design guidelines/ what to expect in terms of results for those types of enclosures, which is probably a lot to ask, since there is a lot that goes into the design and fine-tuning of those enclosures. For example, if i wanted to do a T-line for a 10" woofer, how large of a "pipe" would I need? How much do I need to offset the driver from the end of the pipe? stuff like that...

So i went to go get a new window and the thing is almost 700.00. so i looked at lexan and that is way frigging cheaper. so heres the deal. How in the hell do you install this crap. i know i am supposed to be able to cut it with a jigsaw and like sand it or something but i dont really know how or what techniques to use or anything else. i need to know how to put this in or someone that does it needs to do it for me but either way i need the big fatty lexan in there. 13. I ordered my First 18in. btl on tuesday and i am ordering my second on friday. In anticipation I got to playing around with some designs. I am going with a wall build in my trailblazer and i got the front template all cut out perfectly today and threw it into sketchup. Double baffled 3/4in. mdf on the front and double baffle all around for the actual enclosure also " even though it is not shown in sketchup" After sub displacement it sits at 21.07cf. and no i am not counting the sub braces since i just put those in to see how i would set them since i dont have the actual subs yet. also i will be throwing in a couple of 45's to help so am i missing anything big/gettin…

Well i have this 8in sub laying around i was able to get a old school 160A2 rockford fostgate amp for $20 . I thought it would be best to build a box for it than to buy some cheap one so i could get all the bass i could from this little sub . So what i have in mind is building a ported box for best spl . This is going in the trunk of my mustang. But i cannot find any blue print for a small like 1.00cu or smaller enclosure . So if some one could give me some or just send them my way i would be very thankful.

I remember playing around with making boxes and stuff and had some different software. I had somebody guide me through it before, I had a box deign for my other truck. But with it, I have to make some decent modifications to it to put a box in it. With my Jeep I can just design a box, go pick up the stuff, make it and drop it in. I think now that I can do that, I will actually pay more attention to how to do a box, have more interest in it. I was recommended subs up port up on the drivers side, not sure if it will fit or not. The max exterior size the box can be is 41.5"w, 16.5"d,21"t... I'd like to design a box myself but obliviously get some help with it. I think if I …

I picked up a 1000watt amp and I'm getting two SA-8s, question is about the port size/length and whether or not to open the air space to both of them. Currently one side has about 1.4ft^3 and the other has .8ft^3. So if I open up the divider the overall airspace should be around 2.2ft^3. The recommended airspace is .75ft^3 per sub. I was thinking if they are separated I could tune one a little higher than the other and get a wider range out of them, or would they sound better in a shared airspace? Whichever is better I need advice on the port. I input these numbers on Port Length Calculator and came up with a 12" long port if I combine airspaces and use a a 4 inc…

So here's the deal. I have a Sundown 1200D, a Sundown 125.2 powering my setup. I will breeze over the 125.2 which will be hooked up to 2 sets of Polk db6501 components (2 ohm load) on each channel giving me a net of 100 watts to each speaker. I am building a CUSTOM box for a12" TC Sounds LMS-R sub. This sub can handle 1k watts continuos and 4k peak. I can wire this sub to be a 1 ohm load which is a load my 1200D can handle (giving out 1200 watts). I am trying to decide if I should port the box I am planning on building needs a port or not, and if so how long, size, ect I need it to be. I believe I correctly modeled the Treo TE sub I have now (in a ported probox) in t…

Hey guys, so my dad really wants an Image Dynamics 12 for Father's Day and I want to build him a box for it. It's going in a Honda CRX, and I want to try and load it off the rear hatch. I just need a simple sealed design and cut sheet. He's got 35"s between the two shock mount plastic panels and 28" from the open storage box to the back so space isn't an issue whatsoever, especially for a sealed box. Only thing important is that I want it fairly close to the 35" across so I can mount it right behind the storage tray angled back to the hatch class. Any help? Thanks a lot guys, and here are all parameters you might need http://www.imagedynamicsusa.net/files/59633398.pdf

I am looking to build another box but want something unique yet efficent. I'll pay for the design. Some specs on the trunk: Cannot be over 14" tall x 20"wide x doesnt matter too much over 40" deep. The box will be for a 12" btl loaded off 2 aq2200s. I would prefer tuning no higher than 32hz. Lets see what someone can do.

Space I am working with is Depth: 23 in Height: 26 inches Width: 42 inches So I can fit a decent sized box in it. car looks like That one isn't mine but it gives you an idea of what I am working with, but will have inside pics up tomorrow I appreciate whatever help I get.

I have an 18" zcon on order so I'm starting the build here in the next couple days. I have two designs worked up and just curios what every one thinks would be better, more so concerning port area. I plan on using either a 10" or 12" round port. Box will be sub up port back in an 06 xterra. First design: 6.93 cubic ft. after all displacements with A 10" port tuned @ 37 hz port area = 11.38 per cube Second design: 7.4 cubic ft. after all displacements with a 12" port tuned @ 37 hz port area = 15.28 per cube Just curious what everyones thoughts are, thanks
