  1. So I'm good at building enclosures.....calculating ported enclosures? Not so much. I've just bought a new tow vehicle and using some budget equipment to put a nice setup in it. These are new items I've had laying around to put into a project car I'm building that won't be finished for a while. Vehicle : 2004 Escalade ESV (Suburban sized one) Location in the vehicle: Rear hatch, against the 3rd row. Want to keep some cargo room Space available (Length x Width x Height): 46" wide is set. 16" deep is set. The height is my variable. 20" is maximum. All dimensions are internal. Finally picked up a few sheets of MDF to play with to make my explorer box, what should the minimum port area be for 2 15inch RE SX's? So far i have messed around with the RE box tool and came up with a 6.1 Cube box tuned to 34.7hz with a port area of 74square inches. My available measurements seem to be 41 inches wide(before wheel well bumps), 18 inches deep, and i don't want to reach over 20 inches high on the height. If anyone can throw some suggestions at me for the area of port needed or maybe a box design they have used in their explorer it would be much appreciated. Thanks!

I got a cut sheet from skar audio, and i want to know others opinions on it. Ive tried to draw it up on paper to visualize, and ive done some calculations to help someone who knows how to use the info. Its for a friend so i don't wanna waste his cash on a shit design. Ok so he has a 97 Jeep grand cherokee. 90a alternator, I did the big 3 for him in some 4 gauge stinger pro i had laying around, and he had already bought a Rockford amp kit 4 gauge also...pretty nice wire. Ok the max dims are 36" wide, 36"deep and 30"tall, this leaves plenty space for the port to breath either up our back..The subwoofer is a skar audio ivx15 V1. Its a d2 coil. Here's spec off woofersetc.co…

Hi guys, I'm about to start on my first build. I've got a temp. sub that has been laying around for a while that I want to use until i get some money saved up to rebuild. It's a sonly Xplod 12 (I know) it'll be running off a rockford fosgate 300.1 in a trunk. I'd like to have the tuning somewhere around 28hz-32hz.. I'm not sure how the driver will like it so i'll let you guys tell me what ya'll think. It'll be going in a 2002 Buick Regal trunk. The demensions are: W=45", L=45", H=21.5". Those are the max demensions. If you guys need any more information just feel free to ask. The subwoofer model is: XS-L120P5W

I have a Dodge Journey that I want to put 2 SX 12s in. (By the way, only have one right now, need another. Put the word out, D2) I want to have the 'right' box for it. Not one that a experienced builder can demo and know quickly that it's a crap build. I have been reading the available threads on what makes a vented box a 'good' vented box. But to honest, it seems pretty complicated. I am not a fluid dynamics student. But I am trying to learn. It is hard to narrow down my music style. It's 50/50 between hard rock like Metallica and such, and also rap/hip-hop. I know that doesn't make it easy. It will be running on a solid 2300wrms. I have the whole back available for the …

well since i put in the 2 15" BL's on the sundown 3000d, i have NO windshield flex, a little roof flex which is no biggie, but the worst is the doors...the body panels are so thin and theres just a single support bar inside it, which flexs with it against the body panel. i put Great stuff foam and peel & seal. i know peel and seal isnt real deadener, but ive used it before and itll deaden sound for sure, maybe not as good but itll do the job. well it did hardly nothing. what would solve it is fill the whole door with expanding foam but that isnt an option, becuase i obviously need the windows to go up and down. any ideas? pics of my door panels should be in the wall t…

I been going back and forth about taking my rear seats out my crew cab silverado. The idea that i have if i remove the seats completely, is to build a enclosure/amp rack that rear passengers can still sit on and still be comfortable. I was thinking about covering both in some type foam and vinyl...have this been done before and would it work?

I am getting ready to make a box and need to know two things. I am building a box for a nightshade 12 and I got an aeroport. The box is going to be sub up port on the side 1) Can the port be inside like old times? The only reason I am asking is all I see nowadays with aeroports is crx style with ports out of box. Will I lose db's by putting port in instead of out? 2) If so how many cubes roughly would it take up? Port will be 15.5 inches long and its a 4 inch aeroport. I am trying to see what I need to make dimensions of box if port is in instead of out. I just want the best possible setup I can get for what equipment I have.
