My laptop was asleep, I wake it up and it shows the log in page for a second then flips to the first startup screen like it rebooted, which shouldnt have happened. The status bar at the bottom of the screen gets about 75% across then freezes. I shut it down manually and now it will turn on and the cd drive will make its normal start up noise but nothing happens past that....no start up screen, just black. Seems like I had a similar problem years ago on my desktop and the problem was dead RAM. If i put my ear to the HDD it sounds like its running. Sound like a ram problem? Any ideas on how to troubleshoot this POS?

Working on a project and I need to find out how the computer and USB actually work together. What is between the USB port and the circuit board? How does the computer actually receive/send the info.? mainly I'm looking for pictures, diagrams, drawings....something to show the relation ship between the two.

My xbox live service just renewed it self for another year of it and i had quit playin for ahwile had been playin halo 2. Kinda lookin for another game now. Any of you guys play any other games on xbox live ?

I'm wondering if someone has any idea why a website would just stop working for me? Here's what's happened. A little over a month ago I was on a website and for some reason the pages stopped loading. I kept getting a message that said the internet could not connect to the website. I thought maybe the site was having problems, but after a week it still wouldn't work. Started checking with people and found out that the site was not down. I had about a half a dozen different communications with my ISP and they had no answer for why it wasn't working for me. Well, the other day my HDD took a crap on me. Here's the story; I was home trying to play some Yahoo! Pool (I'm addicted to it), and then my PC started doing this thing where everytime I tried to access the 'net (via either IE or Mozilla), it would automatically reboot my PC and/or freeze up. Well, I finally got tired of dicking with it one time when it froze up, so I went to shut it off at the power strip. Only, when I went to shut it off, my hand slipped and I shut it off/on/off really fast (turned it back on before it had completely powered down, then shut it off before it completely powered back up). First off, I don't know much about computers so take that into consideration when replying please. Anyways, my new harddrive came in for my OmniFi. I pulled the old one out, plugged the new one in, partitioned it for FAT32, plugged it into my Omnifi, and well, it creates a file called "\USR\newroot.xml", but it need's to be "\USR\root.xml" instead. Now, everything went fine until I plugged it back into my computer to change the file name. I cannot find the drive on my computer anywhere. It does not show up on the My Computer tab, but if I go to "safely remove hardware," it shows up. Anyone know what my problem is and how to fix it? Thanks in advance!

Hey all - I'm looking for a wireless card that's reasonably priced that has an external antenna connector - I've got a 60cm dish doing nothing that would make a perfect Wifi link to the campus network, if I built a patch feed for it. All the cards I've seen that do this and fit in laptops are over $100, anything cheaper out there? Thanks.

I'm not sure where to start looking for a projector, I had one I got for free for a few weeks before I moved home to Illinois and loved it but I accidentally left it. I'm considering another instead of a 50" tv, something in the neighborhood of a 120" screen. I'm looking to spend $200-300, I don't need something insane but I'd like a quiet model, mine had rowdy cooling fans. What would you guys suggest?

Good Stuff. its just hte lead singer, mixed beats, and produced by Jay-Z. Bass lines are AWSOME. they absolutely kill in the Ava18...not in the Lil-John or Young Geezy way. Classical music way. Low and punchey. They have given me something to show people how well large speakers can produce punchey fast lines that isnt classical or techno. so far my two favorite are "Where'd you Go" and "Remember the Name" out of 5.

So, almost two months ago, i bought a brand new Dell PC. I recently got a job after graduating college, so i figured i'd get a good one (for what i use it for, im not into gaming), since for the first time in my life, i had the money to spend. Ok, so the old man just got connected to xbox live today . Played a couple of games, (burnout, forza, and guitar hero). How do I get world rankings. My ranking is just a - on the screen. Also, how and the hell can I play Guitar Hero online. So guys, I'm having a problem with youtube streaming. I can watch a video and it will stream quite quickly on any website except for Youtube, It takes ages to load. Even Myspace video's stream much more quickly than Youtube. It will take several minutes even for lets say a 00.47 second video to load. Site such a Vimeo, Megaupload Video, College Humor, Etc will load faster. I have a fast Internet connection about a 4Mb connection. Below is my DSL Speed Reports.

i was just using the internet and i got a pop up for some free anti virus software. i then closed it. next thing you know, i keep getting all these pop ups saying my computer is infected and this random anti virus program starts to scan my PC but this program really is not installed on my PC. i get a hole bunch of random windows security pop ups also. i cant download a new AV program or any program any more it keeps stopping the program from installing. i really do not want to reformat my PC. so please any ideas would help. my original hard drive was damaged, so i had a reputable guy whos done work for me in the past look into it, and he installed a new hard drive 32 bit system and the operating system is windows 7, but even thought the hard drive is new when i watch vids on you tube, they load very slow and buffer forever, they will play for 2-3 seconds then stop for about 10-30 seconds and again only play for a few seconds, with my old wore out hard drive i never had this problem, so im wondering if theres a setting i need to adjust or whats the deal?

Well we have one for XBOX Live, why not for those of us with PS3's? Mine is: BigEDawg I reallly only play call of duty 4 online at the moment.
