Anyone have any recommendations on software to turn a VHS video feed into a computer to rip a DVD? I need the software, hardware and it would be a bonus if it would work as a tv tuner as well. I have looked at Newegg and the like, but there are a lot of strange options and I thought someone might have done it already.

Any GMC / Chevy owners have experience debugging their PAC OS2? My head unit is getting no power. Also it's just my luck that my volt reader isn't working tonight either, so I'll have to grab a new one tomorrow. I've checked all all cables none are lose.

Dang, wild hair again. I have a 60wx2 chn Adcom amplifier sitting in my closet and think I found a use for it. I am looking at building these near field monitors to be used as cpu speakers. I will probably add a plate amp and an rli8 or something that boxes even smaller to go with them. Should I do it? http://www.zaphaudio.com/audio-speaker20a.html http://www.zaphaudio.com/audio-speaker20b.html I like these for the size, simplicity, and the fact that the crossover is optimized for near field listening. I pulled out an old (real old) Kenwood car audio dual amp balancer that I am stripping apart to use as a volume knob. Just use a potentiometer from the shack and bang,…

I have tried Bearshare, Shareaza, and Limewire and am having the same problem. Every couple of minutes these P2Ps are starting themselves up. I've gone to options...advanced options, every logical possibility has been eliminated. I have ran spybot and I am coming up with nothing. Has anyone else experienced any of this stuff?

New system. Basically just a fileserver. I'm running into a problem that has me beat. With no app's running windows will flash a BSoD then auto-reboot. Mind You, this is with no app's running, just the standard 30 something processes (ugh). No particular time interval or anything. There is plenty of airflow, not much heat anyhow. Everythings New: XP Sp2 Abit KV7 board (133mhz bus) 1.85g AMD Athlon XP 160 gigs of hdd 768mb ram pc2700 McAfee Firewall & VScan No extra drivers installed, but they are all updated (as of 2 nights ago). No glitches running Steam, Bitlord, IE, Belarc, and so on. No other programs really installed (other then Nero, ATI, whatever the ide har…

I found it ironic, as my ink warning just popped up a few days ago, then I found this. anyhow: I trust that You guys know that I would not spam You guys. So, I ask that: If You need $30 worth of printer ink asap, or are simply running low and should reorder soon, then I ask that You do it through the InkBlvd deal through my referral link (again: http://xbox360s.freepay.com/?r=22740106 ). Yep, i signed up for a free Xbox from one of the few Proven FreePayStuff programs. Figured, it can't hurt. I need 8 folks to go in by my referral. http://xbox360s.freepay.com/?r=22740106 Thanks gents!

I'm in the initial phase of putting together a private network server - looking to have it up my Feb 1. I'm not worried about the hardware... Software and protocol? I need some help, please. I've a pair of 70Gb 10krpm drives. I dont wanna setup my hdd's as a raid array for stability concerns. That being said, one drive will be personal & program storage, one to be net storage. Outside of a super firewall and a gigabit ethernet... what do i need? What can I run, Windows based, to make one of my drives internet accessible? Can someone point me to some good sites? Thanks for helping me get started... B) -Nick

I search on PirateBay, seems like a good site. Find the torrent. Got a bunch of seeds, got a couple leechers or whatever they're called. Click on it, Azureus opens up. Save it to the desktop or whatever folder I want the file(s) in. Minute or two later the thing starts downloading. Downloading slowly. I had one file go at 150kb/s for a minute or two, then went down to 80kb/s or so. If I were to take an average of all speeds I've seen since I started using this I'd imagine that it would be around 30kb/s. Sometimes around 45kb/s, sometimes around 17kb/s, sometimes around 12kb/s. No other internet programs running, only downloading one file at a time. The only fast down…

There is this new phone that's about to come out called the Samsung Instinct that has a page full of features on it. The phone itself made me start thinking if this was the best phone feature-wise so i started to do some research... I was wrong. There are other phones out there that are better but i gotta have it on the Sprint \ Nextel network. I was looking at the Nokia N95, and while that phone is AWESOME, it doesnt work for my network. I would use ATT but for the price, i get everything i want that ATT offers for $45 less a month through Sprint since ATT overcharges their plans like crazy. So... i found these Pocket PCs. I am more into computers anyway and these ba…
