  1. I am going to be doing springs on both cars, probably ordered them today for a combo discount. (No, not doing coil overs at this time as I do not track either car, or drive either hard enough to get that aggressive with the suspension.) So, over the years for my personal cars, I have only used Eibach and H&R. But now going full into the Japanese side of the auto word, (taking a German breather) there is a whole new world of aftermarket brands I don't have as much hands on driving or owning experience. In this case, price is not a deciding factor, as all four options are with in $20 of each other. Also, ride height differences are with-in 0.4" total of each other,…

  7. My brother's car (2002 Nissan Xterra 3.3L v6) all stock electrical seems to be having a couple issues regarding its electrical system. For starters, if left sitting for more than 2 days the car has very much trouble starting. It will crank very slowly 1 or 2 times then stop. Then of course starts immediately when cabled to another car. I put a DMM on the battery which rests at around 12.8, pretty normal. Then 14.2 when the car is turned on, also normal. After say 15 minutes...it seems as though the alternator stops giving 14.2 and goes down to 12.6 (under battery resting voltage). That I noticed was an immediate issue. Then I turned the car off and the dmm read 11.4. If t…

I was thinking about this recently with all the increasing pressure on raising MPG and emission requirements. Personally, my vote for me in my life time, would be turbo diesel. It seems to be the most natural way for now, no BS complaints about the infrastructure, similar performance to gas motors, and proven durability. Was just curious as to what our other car nuts on here are thinking. Hydrogen has serious potential, and no waste product. BMW is proving some stellar performance with their's. Toyota has done very good work with Hybrids, but the system is still $$$. GM is getting credit for making their Tahoe get 20mpg with their hybrid system, all the while a stan…

And I am extremely displeased at my topic being locked over something people wont even listen to me on and think I am a complete moron. Listen, Google, and then reply. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=Warpe...G=Google+Search http://www.stoptech.com/tech_info/wp_warped_brakedisk.shtml you can hit "I'm Feeling Luckey" and get that. Warping and Uneven ware are two entirely different things. If I sand half of a 2x4 does that make it warped? no.

This isn't for me, obviously but a friend of mine has an early 4Runner that has some headliner with some major self-esteem problems. It's not typical carpet either, it's more like a closed-cell foam material, and whatever adhesive was on the backing has deteriorated over 20 years under a black roof. What would you guys recommend for adhesives?

Unless this is old news, ooops but is still nice to know- This is specifically for Californians and if it gets very popular it will go completely national then international. A Hybrid... that will be put on the market as planned by the end of this year... with an expected certified MPG rating(this is an all electric so they must be comparing gas to hours of power maybe?) of 330 MPG! As of right now, they are trying to get there... there last known spec was at 230 MPG which is ungodly incredible. Price tag - under $30K Go ahead and real full article and all pages throughout about the Aptera. You will see that they also take great pride in safety features as well so don't…

I noticed when testing outside of the car that there is a horrid metal vibration coming from the undercarriage. In case your sigs. are turned off I drive an '07 Scion Tc. My question is what should I do about it? Should I remove it or put some deadener on it like dynamat or fatmat (I refuse to use damplifier pro on outside of car (-: ) It's more then the usual body panel sound it's a high pitch rattle that I can't stand for others to hear. Shizzon, what did you do about this piece? Thanks in advance for replies / ideas.
