Just had to get back in a old truck. Traded my 60 Biscayne for this well done 71 C10. It's a mild 355cu and a TH400 trans. All new interior, paint is only a couple years old. I was alittle unsure of the wheels but after having it a couple days and the reaction this truck gets I think I will just lower it more and leave it alone. I really like this 70's muscle look. Out with the old In with the new Needs some sounds although the cam sounds killer in this truck. Looks like a head unit, 4 channel and components are in order.

  6. Limited by your own imagination, i'm trying to find some unique things i can do with this new remote.. I have 3 channels left. One unique thing i have thought about is being able to open garage door with it... But since Viper no longer makes a compatible kit for their newer alarms, no such device exists as far as i know.. Anyone have an idea on this or something else that is possible and unique?

  7. Alright, first off I blame Nick and Quentin for this. The engine never made a sound until I was chatting with them last night. LOL, just kidding guys, I figured it was coming. I had that nagging gut feeling, even when we were talking last night. Okay, background for those who are confused, I got a call from a friend a couple of weeks ago needing some help and pulled out of a flooded area after some particularly heavy rains. He's a good friend so I didn't hesitate to go help him. On the way there, on a completely different road in a completely different area, AND one that's not normally prone to flooding problems I dropped down a hill and came around a turn with no…

  8. I am going to be doing springs on both cars, probably ordered them today for a combo discount. (No, not doing coil overs at this time as I do not track either car, or drive either hard enough to get that aggressive with the suspension.) So, over the years for my personal cars, I have only used Eibach and H&R. But now going full into the Japanese side of the auto word, (taking a German breather) there is a whole new world of aftermarket brands I don't have as much hands on driving or owning experience. In this case, price is not a deciding factor, as all four options are with in $20 of each other. Also, ride height differences are with-in 0.4" total of each other,…

I saw someone already has a similar thread... I currently have about 250-300lbs of audio related items in the trunk and it sits almost an inch above the rear tire... Pic: Mechanic wasn't really too helpful, when he was doing a brake job he casually said it would be like $900 to fix the issue without really checking it... I was watching through the glass partition while they worked.... Any of you mechanics out there work on this car model? what would that typically cost??? I'm not currently using my system because there is a huge drop and difference in height... people always flash their high-beams at me cuz when I drive the lights are almost pointed in their face I …

  10. I just installed my new alternator from Mike Singer which has a smaller pulley then my Jeeps stock alternators pulley He recommended shortening my serpentine belt by 1" my Jeeps stock length is 88.8", and the closest to this I could find was 87". I've installed the 87" one and it fits, and no problems are apparent but I'm wondering if anyone knows if this can cause problems later on down the road? with my water pump? ac condenser? I just emailed Mike asking if this was alright but I figured I'd throw a post up here as well.

Just curious if anyone knows of a product that can keep air line\fittings from experiencing the surrounding ambient temperature? I'm going to try something soon and see how it does through the winter... One of my O-Rings doesn't like the cold weather so i gotta air it back up every 2-3 days. My install has no reserve so what's in the bag is the only air volume on the car. I get the privilege of knowing something is leaking way before anyone else would, hehe. Keeps me on top of things.

hey guyz... I thinking of painting my car a chameleon design. Now I know that the car has to be sanded down and primered and painted a first coat of black. This company is selling the paint to me by the gallons. They said it comes with the chameleon base coat and two other clear coats and some other things already mixed. It sounds like its ready to spray out of a gun. Is that base coat of the chameleon paint all I need for the actual paint? how many gallons do you think its gonna take to paint my full car? its a cadillac cts

  17. Looking for something other than plain or Black Oxide coated M8-M10s Class 12.9 that are available up to 110-120mm long. These will be used for Alternator mounting and it's not direct bolt-on so highest strength possible is being applied here.

  18. My brother's car (2002 Nissan Xterra 3.3L v6) all stock electrical seems to be having a couple issues regarding its electrical system. For starters, if left sitting for more than 2 days the car has very much trouble starting. It will crank very slowly 1 or 2 times then stop. Then of course starts immediately when cabled to another car. I put a DMM on the battery which rests at around 12.8, pretty normal. Then 14.2 when the car is turned on, also normal. After say 15 minutes...it seems as though the alternator stops giving 14.2 and goes down to 12.6 (under battery resting voltage). That I noticed was an immediate issue. Then I turned the car off and the dmm read 11.4. If t…

Started side-tracking a thread with Mr. Bob, so I'm dragging it back over here. It's been a good many years since I got the parts and built it so I don't remember the specifics, but basically a high compression N/A 383. Only was able to get it to the track once last year. Pep Boys Z-rated tires from 2002, mail-order tune, stock shifter, stock suspension, "granny shifted" etc., ran a 12.8 @ 114 MPH. Hoping with a couple small changes, like oh, traction, a tune, I can get it to dip into the 11s. Couple pics. No exciting videos, sorry. But, at least you can see it runs now...LOL

so among the many things that can and will go wrong(i.e. wife and son in hospital sick, daughter with my maw maw sick, a damn hurricane) , my car is crapping out. the mechanic diagnosed it with a bad throttle body. 900 from dealer, 730 on internet, and a whopping $24 from a junkyard...if i can find one; no luck so far. the part that troubles me is that in additon to this problem, the mechanic tells me he concerend about my engine. i have 93,000 miles and he said the engine is wearing out as if has double or triple that. i bought the car in September of 05 as a demo with 27,000 on it. i can attest that in the last seven years, the car has been regularly maintained and serv…

i picked this truck up a few weeks ago, for almost a steal, its a 1993 6.5 turbo with a 5 speed, crew cab long bed. it runs drives but bellows white smoke at start up and does so for 15 mins or so untill its hot, then it smokes no longer, i have been trouble shooting the smoke issue, turns out it can be alot of things. currently i am going thru the glow plugs, and what nots hoping this fixs it, if not it can be fuel injectors, injector pump timing chain fuel return, i have narrowed it down to those as the smoke smells of raw fuel. and not anti freeze, and i also do not use any. this should be a good truck to have around, for the jet skies, to pull my car around to l…

Well, My 2007 White Diamond Escalade was awesome and we loved it. Low miles (58k) and still have over a year left on its certified warranty. So I decided since we were in good shape with it it was a good time to upgrade into something else. My wife sorta wanted something smaller because we have had big SUV's for the last 6 years or so. I was looking to get maybe a IS250 -350 but secided I would call up Cadillac and see since I already had history with them what they had that might fit the bill. I went out there with a fully loaded new CTS on my mind but after driving several cars I decided this was the best option especially since we have 2 kids and have been spoiled by s…
