Hey everyone, I'd like to know if there is an alternative to changing the color of my headlight without HIDs. I'm not a fan of HIDs because they tend to hurt my eyes when I see people driving so I wouldn't want to do that to others. But what I do want is to not have the stock "yellowish" light and have a different color like blue, white, etc. What's a good alternative that isn't so expensive?

Anybody done this, pics and pointers would be great... I know it's not an easy task... the local shop said they wouldn't touch it. Saw the puddle of anti-freeze when I pulled the carpet What else can happen to delay this build....?

alright so today we were drivin and all the sudden something under the passenger side started clicking. you could feel it on your feet. if felt like the tire had a knot in it or something. so we kept driving and we stopped a cvs for about 10 minutes. when we left cvs we turned right and then the right side started clanking and grinding. it was loud. so everytime we turned right it started doing this. when the brakes were hit it stopped making the noise. so we finally got home and let it sit for about an hour and then went to the gas station and now its doing it on both sides. i have no idea what it is. im thinking maybe the cv joints or ball joints? i dont really know…

  9. Here's the build log for the Camaro. I was a little hesitant at first because this is my first major mechanical project. I'm replacing all bushings in the front suspension with poly bushings, converting to power front disc brakes, switching to Hotchkis springs, and replacing all brake lines with stainless. I started on this last week, and I've gotten to the point where everything that needs to come off is off. Here are some pics of things so far. What I started with: Goodbye spindle/drum (I'd just like to say that the most useful tool in this whole thing is an air hammer with pickle fork attachment. Those ball joints were original and did not want to let go): No …

The Saturn Sky and Pontiac Solstice...........Test drove a stock Sky. They are going to have a supercharged "redline" edition soon. Even for stock I thought it moved rather well. 177 horses and the redline wil have 260, for only 3G more but have better gas milage, and functional special air induction (i foget the exact name). anyways can i get everyone's thoughts on these things??? I was looking for alarms for my truck and came across Shatter Guard Film. It claims to be able to stop any intruder and is shatter proof. I looked at their video and it looks pretty convincing but the question now is, is it worth it? What do you guys think all hype or could this really be an alternative to an alarm system. Since it's a film it can't be bypassed like an alarm system and can apparently increase the windows strength by up to 300%. The problem is it costs $399. Do you guys think this would be just as good as an alarm system? Also is their any other brand out their that anyone has heard of that is just as effective without the extreme price tag?

So I took the E55 to the stealership today to get that oil leak checked out and fixed. Got to talking with the service representatives and she claims that, as long as you use a Mercedes approved oil (MB 229.5) and filter, oil change intervals are 10 months/10,000 miles. Given that dealing with stealerships and their asshattery ranks one notch below "getting anally probed" on my "Things I Enjoy" list, I came here to seek council. So basically: bullshit, maybe, yes? I honestly haven't a clue.

  18. So after doing extensive research and a good number of Saturdays driving to go see different cars, yesterday something happened. Leading up to it, our favorite was the E320, a rock solid car, loads of safety features, good performance and the '96 - 2002 is one of the best ratted and most reliable used cars PERIOD. But the problem is that this car is to replace Amanda's 2 door civic, and I took her to test drive a few good examples of 99's or newer E320's. She felt intimidated by them, was nervous to drive them and struggled at first to park one. So we checked out the c230 Kompressor, it was too small for what we wanted and does not have as good a track record as the E…

  19. Alright, first off I blame Nick and Quentin for this. The engine never made a sound until I was chatting with them last night. LOL, just kidding guys, I figured it was coming. I had that nagging gut feeling, even when we were talking last night. Okay, background for those who are confused, I got a call from a friend a couple of weeks ago needing some help and pulled out of a flooded area after some particularly heavy rains. He's a good friend so I didn't hesitate to go help him. On the way there, on a completely different road in a completely different area, AND one that's not normally prone to flooding problems I dropped down a hill and came around a turn with no…

I'm only posting because I don't really have the time to really research myself. But I was looking into DDM Tuning and noticed people complaining how bad their customer service is, and the overall length of time its taking to receive your order and it seems its taking longer and longer. So to me, this usually isn't a good sign, definitely if I have a problem. So I'm looking for another brand or company that compares to DDM as far as price and quality(if you could call it that). I am willing to spend ~$75ish for each kit, 50watt low beam 9007 and H10 fog. Also, I don't have to have slim ballast's but it would be nice.

I was thinking about this recently with all the increasing pressure on raising MPG and emission requirements. Personally, my vote for me in my life time, would be turbo diesel. It seems to be the most natural way for now, no BS complaints about the infrastructure, similar performance to gas motors, and proven durability. Was just curious as to what our other car nuts on here are thinking. Hydrogen has serious potential, and no waste product. BMW is proving some stellar performance with their's. Toyota has done very good work with Hybrids, but the system is still $$$. GM is getting credit for making their Tahoe get 20mpg with their hybrid system, all the while a stan…
