Just looking for a little input from people who have used or know about these certain model tires. Vehicle is the little Mazda P5. 2700lbs soaking wet, will gain a few when I finally get around to the audio. Size is 195/50/16. Currently, I am doing a lot of high way miles, much of it stop and go. No plans to track the car in the near future. Bad weather is prevalent in this area of course, but not super bad. Biggest needs are all around traction, braking, durability and light weight for the MPG'z. Price is a factor, as I have something coming that will hit me quite hard $$$ wise so I cannot get the Michelins I would like to get. Currently, only one tire is in sho…

Well, sine Tirefryr asked, I guess I would post my toy. It is a 1986 Buick Grand National. It has a 3.8L V6, 30 over and stroked. Forged TRW 8.5:1 pistons and a forged Crower crank. Comp cams custom cut to optimize exhaust gas speed to increase spool up and reduce lag. The heads are cast, ported and polished with stainless valves, Chevy 350 lifters and comp cams 1.6:1 roller rockers. The intake manifold is match ported and polished to the heads, and fed through a Turbo-TA stretched intercooler with a Duttwieler neck conversion. I use a 3 inch cold air pipe and a 9 inch K&N. I use stock style headers (I found they have better bottom end then the high flow headers) a TA…

Ok so I've been looking for a new vehicle lately and I came across an interesting find. 97 Nissan Hardbody Pickup Truck. 2 wheel drive, 4cyl 5 spd. Single cab. It's a one owner truck, looks and runs great. Seller is local (15 min from my house). They're asking $2900 which is too high but negotiable (I'm thinking $2000 tops). Only problem I have with the truck is the mileage, 200k I really want to make something nice out of it. Rims, lower/bags, possibly blowthrough Wanted to know your honest opinion. All the research I've done leads me to believe the truck is extremely reliable and cheap to fix. What do YOU think?

If anyone's looking for a cheap alternative. I've been wanting to try and clear my headlights up, they were all yellow and foggy. I did some searching around online and used some ideas for a mixture that came out sweeet. 1. I put two large squirts of shampoo in a cheap spray bottle, filled it with water, shook it, then added a few capfulls of bleach. 2. Sprayed a rag with the mix and squirted a good bit of toothpaste with whitening on the rag. (the grit in the toothpaste is what really helps) 3. Sprayed the headlights with the mix real good and scrubbed the toothpaste on with the rag. Kept spraying the light with the mix and adding toothpaste when needed. Did so for about…

I've seen some pretty crazy stretches, from 10"s to around 14"s.. I'm looking on this one site and they're offering a 20" and over custom. I'm curious as to why? A 4" to around 10" I can understand because if you add power to the bike, it's gonna further space where the torque is applied and thus make it harder for it to lift the front tire. Anything over 16" is pretty much going to put completely you out behind the rear fender.. I can get for drag racing but if you're gonna do that, you're not going to worry about buying it online and you're just gonna build one from scratch that way you can get over a 330 tire and just run a drag slick for a car, not to mention that you…

So after a couple months I finally got my George Balias muffler and elbow pipe for my 2010 Buell xb12ss. Installation was anything but a breeze. But that wasn't GB's fault, more so the fact that the oil filter was in the way of me disconnecting a mounting bracket for the original exhaust. ended up having to just sawing it off! So that was hard, especially because we didn't have power... but other than that the thing bolted right up!!! definately weighs less than stock, somewhere near 1/2 original muffler weight i would say. The look isn't too aftermarket, it actually looks like to me that it actually might belong on the bike. Picture time!! Note: The GB exhaust doesn't ut…

I am considering ordering some new plugs for the Mazda, and I have not used Iridium plugs before. I have used platinum in the past on a few vehicles and liked the mild results. I know some mechanics are dead set on not using plugs that are not OEM, where as there are tuner guys that swear by them. So I wanted to see if there was any feedback I could draw upon and see if it is worth ordering up 4 of them.

Hey guys... Taking a step back away from working on woofer boxes for a while to finish up a couple of my honda projects.. I've got a 95EX w a D16Z motor Manual trans(that seems to be locked--trans is SUPPOSE to be good but I have no real way of knowing--(just picked the car up havn't torn into it yet.) from what I know the D16z is one of the good motors.. 125hp... Vtec btw I've also got a 97 HX w a D16Y5 motor auto trans... which is a strong running/smooth shifting but the car is totaled. The motor in this car is listed as a vtec motor but isn't tagged that way on the engine... From what I know I believe this is a 109hp motor (or somewhere in that Ballpark) Now what I'…

Bought a street scenes poly urethane roll pan for my truck. Just got it today. I'm planning on getting it painted tomorrow but when I unpacked it I noticed it seems scuffed. Any idea if this is going to show after the paint? It doesn't feel the same as the non scuffed parts, a bit more rough..

Man the guys over in the VW forums would kill me for spending money on car audio before any performance upgrades, BUT I just got my 10' VW CC R-line and need to break in the engine 1st. HOWEVER this winter when my engine is broken in I am flashing the cars ecu w/a APR Stage 1 flash which will give me 250HP and 294TQ (stock is 200Hp, 207TQ). I will also give the CC a Carbonio Intake which should give me 10+ HP more I believe. Can't wait!

Ok guys, I'm just looking for suggestions on tinting my taillights and headlights. I have an 08 Ford Escape and looking for a smoked or dark black look, but I want my brake lights to be decently visible. I'm wondering if you guys recommend any brands for pre-cut tints for head and tail lights. Or if you guys recommend any other ways to tint my lights, i'm open for it. Thanks and any suggestions are appreciated!

Hey guys, I'm almost done with my audio install on my 2006 tahoe...The total added weight comes out to around 400lbs. I have about 200lbs of stuff installed so far. The weight is distributed pretty evenly, batteries on each side, enclosure centered.. Well the problem is my 2006 Tahoe is handling worse, and performs worse..(To be expected). Stock the rear is lifted 1.5" or so compared to the front...Now it's about even. The suspension feels stiff, brakes are a bit weaker, can't take turns and peel out as easily\comfortably. I'm trying to figure out what I can or need to do to get it to perform closer to stock. Doesn't have to be 100% how it was, but a bit better would be…

The car is a 1999 ford contour. I've changed almost the entire front end suspension(outer tie rod ends, sway bars, sway linkages, replaced the strut and springs) and now I think my inner tie rod ends are clunking a bit. I'm just wanting some opinions on if I should try to change them myself or pay a shop to do it. I have the chiltons for my car and all the tools I need, but my dad said he's never changed em so he can't give his honest opinion. Main reason I want to do it my self is the knowledge I'll gain and the money I'll save. The parts about 30 bucks each but to have a shop change them it's gonna run about 200+ each side. Wha do yu guys think

I'm contemplating getting some hood locks and just wanted some opinions... http://www.streetbeatcustoms.com/Spyder/Hoods/Universal-Spyder-Carbon-Fiber-Hood-Pin-with-Key-_-ACC_008/637760/ Seem decent? I figure they're another layer of protection for my ride (crackheads won't be able to get to my battery, etc..)

I'm sick of looking for a nice Mark VIII, so I have a few ideas but I can't lean in either direction. I love the G-body GMs, but I'm a huge Ford guy so I've always wanted an 85-87 Regal or 87-88 Cutlass and drop a twin turbo small block Ford in it. You can guarantee it's never been done, and well, I just want to do it. Also been digging the 96-97 T-birds lately, and I'm very familiar with them and their powertrain. Building the 4.6 is relatively simple and cheap, so it would be easy and unsuspecting. . . Or should I just wait until I find a nice Mark VIII that I swear I don't do anything to other than wheels, tires, and big brakes, but I know damn well I am going to g…
