My belt broke today on the van, It looks pretty straight forward to replace it. Anyone have any experience with the sideways mounted 3.4L Chevy motors? I'm used to the forward mounted V8's in my trucks lol

I am planning to repair the scuffs and nicks in my wheels. I have been doing my research, and reading up on different ways. I wanted to see if anyone has used a specific wheel putty as I have seen a few times (IIRC in Bavarian Auto), or should I go for the Bondo approach that I have seen in a few tutorials? Thanks Considering painting the wheels after the repair too.

SSA family I need your help. My family is getting to big for my small car ( Acura cl ). I want to buy a used SUV but I know very little about them. I can only spend $6500.00 tops and it must be a 2000 or newer. I will need 4 doors and it must have a V6 or V8 engine. I will use it mostly on the weekend to take the kids around town. My two youngest kids are 12 and 14 years old and have long legs so no small SUV's like a Tracker. So I need a dependable, afforddable SUV for $6500.00 or less 2000 or newer. I hope this is clear and eazy to understand NO TIME FOR WISE ASS REPLY'S Thanks.

So I took the E55 to the stealership today to get that oil leak checked out and fixed. Got to talking with the service representatives and she claims that, as long as you use a Mercedes approved oil (MB 229.5) and filter, oil change intervals are 10 months/10,000 miles. Given that dealing with stealerships and their asshattery ranks one notch below "getting anally probed" on my "Things I Enjoy" list, I came here to seek council. So basically: bullshit, maybe, yes? I honestly haven't a clue.

I have been having problems with my serpentine belt or alternator. It was slipping on startup, and when i accelerate my voltage drops to about 12. i tightened the belt and the squealing went away, but the voltage still drops to 12. it stays at 12 until i start crusing. I had a gu ytell me i needed the oem belt because 1996 isuzu rodes have a terrible belt design. My dilema is that im about to instal my system, but im not sure if it is just the belt, or is my alternator bad? Also if someone could tell me how to test my alternator that would be great. i have a dmm if it requires one. thanks!

  16. After I get the credit card bill for all my audio equipment payed off, I think I'm going to get a loan on a small Japanese car. Budget will be around 10k, I'd like to get something '02 or newer with less than 70k miles. I really like this Accord, it seems like a pretty good deal, and I like the 2-doors. My friend has a newer (I think its an '05) Maxima and I like it pretty good too. I'd like to get a manual transmission, but they seem to be fairly rare. I've always wanted a WRX, but I'm thinking that would be out of my price range. I guess Toyotas are out due to the whole unintended acceleration mess. I've always heard good things about Toyotas, but have lost a lot of f…

I am looking for suggestions on a new vehicel. 01-05. I have been looking at trucks, I want the durability of a truck with the comfort of a suv. I originally wanted a tahoe or yukon, but they are a little out of my price range. I want a ext cab, as it seems the best suited for me. There will be a nice setup in it, I already have a sub and mid and high amp also already have a radio. I haven't yet decided between which brand but would want a half ton, I have no need for anything bigger.

  20. First, before you start reading my thread.. i must let you know: I am NOT looking for your thoughts about how this will make my truck look. The style i am going for is what i like and what i want, if you don't like it, that's okay.. but don't make a post saying you don't like it, thank you fellow SSA members. Now lets get started! My truck, the one that is in my Signature.. its a "show truck" and i am in the market for a lift kit or bagged so i can raise it so i am able to fit 26-28" rims and still have a big enough turning radius for daily driving. THIS: http://www.pimped-ou...ar-pictures.jpg As of now, the truck is lowered a couple inches, not dramatically.. barley no…

I have noticed over the past year and a half that the stock lights on a 2003 vw passat are TERRIBLE. So after looking around the best headlight I can get (what I am told) are the HID lights 1200K lights (kind of a blue tint). I think those lights with the little blue of a tink would be pretty nice and would be a huge improvement. Anyway I was just looking to see if anybody has any experience with these lights and how it worked out. I wentt to the dealer and got a quote of 600/per light + labor. I was like yeah right and moved on. I called up a company that polishes lights and he said he could probably get them for around 300/per light if I knew somebody that would instal…

  24. I have seen a few of these, but this one is really nice. Sorry if already posted. Custom Tires, Custom Wheels, Tires and Wheels Packages, Parts and Accessories for your Car, Light Truck, and SUV from Performance Plus Tire Scroll down to the right and click on virtual wheels. Allows you to view your car/truck with many different wheel tire combinations. It even allows you to lift and lower it. It's the best one I have found and no I do not have any affiliation with them. If you have seen it, ignore If not enjoy.
