Looking at adding another car (maybe 2) to my garage. I am looking at a CRX as an audio car and then I want a daily driver for AZ. Something with some good power, manual, power windows and either already with nav or I can always add one on. What I am looking at is a 2009(ish) Dodge Challenger R/T edition with the V8. I figure I can easily get one for about 18k in cash. I plan on spending between 14k and 22k on this new toy. This doesnt include rims (if needed), tint or exhust. I will not buy asian autos, and prefer, Dodge, BMW, or Ford. Not much of a Bow Tie kinda guy, and this is for me, not the wife so its gotta be fast enough to easily do something stupid in and fun to…

  3. First, before you start reading my thread.. i must let you know: I am NOT looking for your thoughts about how this will make my truck look. The style i am going for is what i like and what i want, if you don't like it, that's okay.. but don't make a post saying you don't like it, thank you fellow SSA members. Now lets get started! My truck, the one that is in my Signature.. its a "show truck" and i am in the market for a lift kit or bagged so i can raise it so i am able to fit 26-28" rims and still have a big enough turning radius for daily driving. THIS: http://www.pimped-ou...ar-pictures.jpg As of now, the truck is lowered a couple inches, not dramatically.. barley no…

I've got an oil cooler behind my bumper and with this heat I noticed that if I run it hard the temperatures won't drop at highway speeds, which means I need more airflow through it. And since it's right next to the intercooler, I bet that also heats up like hell. Haven't measured IAT's so far since I don't have a sensor. Not looking for power gains, just for cooling gains in preparation for adding more power This is the current setup: And stock: About 1/3 of the intercooler is blocked off by the oil cooler. The intercooler is exactly as big as the square opening (and folded). The plastic is actually some sort of duct, used to seal off the intercooler from the crossmemb…

I am considering ordering some new plugs for the Mazda, and I have not used Iridium plugs before. I have used platinum in the past on a few vehicles and liked the mild results. I know some mechanics are dead set on not using plugs that are not OEM, where as there are tuner guys that swear by them. So I wanted to see if there was any feedback I could draw upon and see if it is worth ordering up 4 of them.

alright so today we were drivin and all the sudden something under the passenger side started clicking. you could feel it on your feet. if felt like the tire had a knot in it or something. so we kept driving and we stopped a cvs for about 10 minutes. when we left cvs we turned right and then the right side started clanking and grinding. it was loud. so everytime we turned right it started doing this. when the brakes were hit it stopped making the noise. so we finally got home and let it sit for about an hour and then went to the gas station and now its doing it on both sides. i have no idea what it is. im thinking maybe the cv joints or ball joints? i dont really know…

I just ordered these LED Switchbacks For my 01 Limited Edition. I'm hoping they will match my HID's perfectly and will look amazing. I have read you have to use these, LED Load Equalizers, so that you don't get the "Hyper blink". So I picked up a pair of those as well. I'll post fill review, with video soon as I get them and my new HID Fog lights in.

Well im thinking about lifting my truck (03 z71 avlanche) but i don't really know anything about lifting or where to get stuff to lift it. I just want it to be lifted and look good. Don't really go off roading but i probably will if i get the lift kit. Not sure what kind of lift to do (body lift, etc, etc.) Not sure where to get stuff (which sites sell quality stuff at the best prices or should i buy local) Not sure how big of a lift to get (what would you get?) Also not sure on what tires to get (just want something to look good but also like tires with deep treads, also should i buy online or local) Open to all suggestions and comments.

My Jeep has had a bit of what I think is lifter tick, audible between 2 and 3k rpm. No lifter tick on startup though. I plan on changing the oil (it's a diesel engine) and I've been thinking about what to add to the oil before changing it to help clear up the ticking noise. I've read that adding diesel fuel or ATF to the oil, running the car for a few minutes, then changing the oil helps. It's an old pushrod design and taking the heads off to remove the lifters would only make me get head studs, which I don't want to do right now. What are your thoughts on this? Seth ?

Alright guys, time to shine for those of you with your smart pants on... I have a 2003 Toyota Camry. I previously had a HID conversion kit installed on my car for just over a year. I noticed about 2 months ago one of my headlights went out on the driver's side. Not sure what had happened but when I got home I turned off my car and looked to see if maybe the connection had come loose. It didn't seem to have an issue there. I turned the car back on and turned the lights on and BAM! they worked again.. It happened one more time after that and since I figured it was a random issue I just turned the lights off and back on which got it to work again. Well, last week that same …

Well.. Since Im 20 now, going to be moving out on my own within the next couple years, going to have a job, ect. Im thinking about selling my 04 Impala, and get something a little more fuel efficient, and to be honest Im thinking about maybe a 94-98 civic. I never would have thought id be buying a civic, but they are fairly inexpensive, easy to work on, and very fuel efficient. Not really asking for people to persuade me either way but if you want to put in your 2 cents go ahead. . Just thought id tell you a potential idea.

  16. I'm thinking of doing a custom grille for my Caddy, and I was wondering if anyone knew of a good source for chrome wire mesh (like the aftermarket ones for the Chrysler 300C, or the Jaguar ones)... if I can't find anything guess I'll have to find one made for another car and chop it up... I was envisioning something like this: Thanks!

This weekend, I blew the head gasket in my 96 Volvo 850 GLT.. in a rather NASCAR-style way. I was cruising 45mph and suddenly smoke everywhere, completely filled the cabin of the car with windows down, and I could barely see the car behind me. I'm pretty sure it's the head gasket, sounds fine running it, but just tons of smoke pours out the exhaust. Anyway, I'm looking for a newer used car (2006'ish), somewhat sporty (~200hp+), preferably a manual (doesn't have to, but preferably). I have no clue what my credit is, however I recently paid off my credit cards to $0 (from about $5k total) and only had a couple monthly required payments, so my credit *should* be pretty g…

I am looking for suggestions on a new vehicel. 01-05. I have been looking at trucks, I want the durability of a truck with the comfort of a suv. I originally wanted a tahoe or yukon, but they are a little out of my price range. I want a ext cab, as it seems the best suited for me. There will be a nice setup in it, I already have a sub and mid and high amp also already have a radio. I haven't yet decided between which brand but would want a half ton, I have no need for anything bigger.

  19. Looking for something other than plain or Black Oxide coated M8-M10s Class 12.9 that are available up to 110-120mm long. These will be used for Alternator mounting and it's not direct bolt-on so highest strength possible is being applied here.

Sooo... my hid lights failed because of a cheap relay that came with the set. Put some basic bulbs in and one side doesn't work. I try the fuse, get power at the fuse. I check the socket, get power at the Socket. I move the non working bulb to the other side, it's work. I try replacing socket connector thinking maybe bad corroded tips not making great connection to bulb.. same result... Wth is going on??? Any help would be great...!
