As most of you know I had my DD 9518Z for sale. Well it sold, and I ordered two SSA ZCON 18"s for the PT. A good friend of mine and I started a "Team" but not a team. Lol. Were called "Southern Hertz". To get in our group wont be easy. But well worth it. Notice the shop I'm always working in LOL. This is just the start. :-) Well, I've always hated messy wiring, I know, I'm like the king of it. But it drives me crazy. So tonight. A friend and I decided to fix my issue. We started with this not to shabby. But could be better. Then went in order of these photos. Took everything out. Old amp rack. Batteries. All of it. Started work on amp rack/ battery box. Built it…

Hey guys this is my first attempt at an active sound system in my 2007 GMC Sierra classic body. My goals are to achieve good all around sound with a little bump at all volumes, nothing too crazy im not going to be competing. My budget was ~$1000 and plan to keep as much of the install stock looking since theft is high here in Tucson. I been piecing this together over the past few months and is getting closer to install hopefully i can start this weekend. Here is what I have as of now: Head Unit - Pioneer AVH-P4300DVD Front stage – Dayton 6 ½” Classic DC160s-4 & Dayton Classic DC28F-8 Front stage amp – Rockford Fosgate PBR300X4 RCAs & Speaker wire from Mono Pri…

I posted a topic to get some ideas and feedback about an install in a '80 Corvette and the responces were great. Due to the nature of the design and limited options for this model vehicle and at the request of the owner, we will not be cutting on the doors and using the factory locations in the front of the vehicle. We will however be making some modifications to the rear of the vehicle, but be saving the majority of the space in the rear so that space can be used for the placement of the T-tops when out for a cruise. I/we have discussed the limiting factors of the choices made for the items being installed and the limitations of sound that they can reproduce. The owner h…

Here is the story behind the 75 buck truck. The tranny went out in the buick , and my mother in law mentioned a friend of hers had a truck that a junk man was scheduled to pick up for 75 bucks. Well i had every intention of paying 75 bucks and selling it to the scrap yard for 300-400. But when i got to the owners house , he said it runs , but its pouring water everywhere. A shop quoted him 1200 bucks for head gaskets. So i decided to crank it up and see what this truck was all about. Come to find out it only needed a freeze plug!!! So i shut my mouth and gave the owner his 75 bucks in exchange for the title. Now another "need to know" tidbit about this build is so far i h…

  16. Well i am Liam from England been into car audio for 4 years now i have had the car from standard to what it looks like today all work has been done/paid for by me. The main aim for the car was a streetbasser that competes in propper droppers which is a format over here that tests how flat your system plays between 20Hz and 40Hz they test the system with the termlab on the passenger headrest and a window or door open, they test 20,25,33,40Hz and your peak then you get an average i am currently the loudest system in walled under 6,000rms. I have had 4 walled systems in the car over the last 2 years. 6 12s flat wall, 8 budget 12s ported tunnel then replaced the budget sub…

Replaced my daily driver with a '96 Lumina(my pawpaw car as my son calls it), but I got a good deal and I needed some decent transpo for back and forth to work. Seems everyone in my family has a nice ride but Dad. Oh well, my time will come. Not doing anything crazy here, just some simple tunes to make my commute to work a little more enjoyable. This has been done on the cheap with some simple stuff, but will give the guys my son keeps attracting an idea what they can do without breaking the bank. Some of this install has already started and hope to have it all completed by the end of the week. Beginning pics uploading now...

This is a straight drop in replacement, so things might not work out as planned. We'll just have to see what happens. I'm not looking to get louder, just looking for a cleaner sound Lets get started with some disassembly pics. Dang these fhawkers are heavy! A little side by side action. Those JBLs are wild looking fo sho! Side by side looking down at the cones. The DD have the edge on this one with the carbon fiber dust caps. With the tall-n-narrow surrounds the DD also look bigger.
