Gonna start the build log for this customer i'm building a box for. Here's the specs we are going for in this box. Internal Volume: 13.006 ft^3 Port Area: 232.5 in^2 Port Tune: 31.23 hertz With the max dimensions the customer wants to use, we're looking at 2.16ft^3/sub before actuall speaker displacement. This should work out right around spec to these subs. Sub up, Port back design, pretty straight forward. It's gonna be big. lol Currently the customer had a local shop (audio express, home of the $1 dollar wire fire) build him a box. They gave him three seperate boxes, two per box, with some really nasty tuning and build quality was horrible. I'm trying to remed…

I recently aquired a brand new Sundown SA8v2. I talked with Thumper about a variation of an enclosure he built years ago for this sub, but after a lot of thinking, I wanted to do something original. Even though I have way more power than the 8 was designed to handle, I wanted to build a T-Line box. I built one years ago, and it sounded amazing. However, I didn't want to build just another boring rectangle t-line box that just looks like a ported box from the outside... So... I present to you my variation of a t-line box I threw together this evening. It took a couple of days to design it, and I thought it was going to be a nightmare to build, but it actually went toge…

Getting ready to install all of my stuff. Pretty much have all that I need to get this almost complete. Just waiting on an In-Line Fuse for between the battery and amp. Also waiting on my H/U, a Pioneer AVH-P4200DVD, wiring harness, and dash kit. All of this is going in here: Starting off with these bad boys 2 Fi Audio SSD12s (thanks FI) in an Argent Audio Enclosure (thanks Andrew): Mounted: Powered by this (thanks SA): Started off by mounting a piece of wood to serve as my amp rack in the trunk: Then I mounted the amp: Going to paint the amp rack black when it stops raining out here in LA. This is as far as I got yesterday. More to come in the next week.

This system was built by a shop in California before the owner of the vehicle moved out here to Arizona. The goal of the build was all SQ and, while some of the fabrication was okay looking, alot of it simply did not match with the quality of the sound. Also, it was pretty difficult to get to all of the amplifiers or the bit one if you needed to. So, the new goals for the new build were to dress up the trunk a little bit more so that it's style would be complimentary to the vehicle and to the sound systems. The door pods needed to be redone to accept a new size speaker. The tweeter pods in the a pillar needed to be completely rebuilt to allow for a much larger overa…

So I finally got around to helping my little brother install his little system lol! I must say it looks and pounds very nicely! The box was designed by Ram Designs, http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/user/17102-ram-designs/ The assembled box! then we installed the subs and wired it all down to 1ohm load! since they are d4 subs! Yes I know that isn't the best place to put an amp but it is all we have to work with in the trunk area! as you can see the trunk is quite full now! The car now sits a bit lower in the ass end! lol and yes the drums are painted orange! here are a few other customization my little brother did while he was waiting for me to help him w…

Hey Everyone, I've been reading this forums for a while and only recently created an account to start posting. This has become my favorite car audio site, especially since it has a great interface for my phone at work Anyways, here's the first car I bought, a 96 v6 Camry xle, and it is time to start it's journey in car audio. It will be a long one as I like to save for a while and buy bigger after learning my lesson going cheap and regretting/wanting more. I won't post my plans for the car as they change somewhat every time i sit down and put some thought to it. I'll mainly be updating as parts show up on my doorstep, past the point of no return for me haha. Heres…

I'd like to thank everyone for their help and knowledge along the way. Official TL score on the dash with all windows down 152.6 @ ~44 The subs are Fi BTLs

In one of my intro threads I remarked it was like an old addiction. Seems as of late well for over 13 years I've mended my ways and laid down my desires for my family. What started as just a small system has resurrected the monster. I have a few goals intended for this system they are: 1. Create a clean install which is removable with minimum effort. After all this is our family car. 2. Target db level 145 3. Modular design to accept several boxes and yet remain SANITARY in installation. 4. Kid proof Covers to prevent kids from dropping stuff in ports (one reason the passive radiator is one of the designs) 5. Design for double the electrical draw. On hand purchased …
