  1. its been awhile but i finally got my system pretty much done. still got sum stuff to do much nothing major. Im running 2 8" L7's dual 2ohm wired in 4ohm powered by 2 kicker zx450.2 amps in bridged mode. The box is 2.20 cu. ft with a L shaped port tuned to 34hz. These little 8's are sick. i had just the one 8" L7 and amp for awhile. Plus this is my first fiberglass project and i gotta say it turned out great. theres 9 layers inside and out (18 all together). need to prep for paint next but im not in a hurry just yet. so once i get the new sub broken in im gonna make a vid. so let me kno what you guys think.

A friend of mine from work listened to my setup about two weeks ago, he said he wanted better sound in his car but couldn't spend much, I asked his budget and he gave me ~$300 as a limit, so I told him I'd get something for him. I worked on a design, and approached him with a 12" SSA DCON S4, a Rockford Fosgate 200.2, and an enclosure 2.25 cubes tuned to 32 Hz. He liked it, and gave me the go ahead. The amplifier was the first to arrive, no pictures of it though because it was shipped to his house. Then we got the DCON, and I much say it's an impressive driver. I wouldn't consider it entry level at all! It is extremely well built, now time for the woofa porn My dog …

Hi! I am rebuilding my whole system this summer. This build is going to be slow because I will be getting things as I get the money for them. My goals are: Loud, great sounding bass and mids/highs. Basically I want to have the ability to get loud when I want it, but I want it to sound good so when I'm just on my way to work the sound quality is still amazing. Trunk space doesn't really matter, but backseats do. I also want to upgrade my electrical system at some point. What kind of electrical engineer student would I be without a strong electrical lol. The plan so far is: AA Carbon Fiber Mids w/ Havoc ST010 tweeters (2 way active) 2 Xcon 15"'s or Death Penalty 15"'s Sund…

This is my new thread since there have been some changes. I found the width I needed to do a wall and that was my original want, so that's the route I decided to go. Have been planning this for a lil while now. Being busy with school and what not, it has been a long time coming. I finally started the other day though. Just a heads up: Being in college full time, with a ton of papers coming up soon, this will not be a fast build. Just gonna work on it when I can between class, gf, and other things until its done. What's going in: 4 DP21"s 4 SAZ-3000d's (new heat sinks) Maxx-Link 200+ ft. Tsunami Competition 1/0 (5+ 5- runs back) 9 Deka 9a31's (1 up…

I just traded my stroker for a new yellowtop, so I figured it's time for me to make another install. I decided to make a 4th order cut through running one 15" opti1532d. My main reason for running lanzar is because everyone I know thinks it's trash. I guess "trash" comes with a 4 inch voicecoil and 19mm xmax. I would of cut through my rear deck, but I'm not really experienced enough to keep that setup mobile in case I needed my spare tire. I cut through my rear seat, I believe I lost output compared to the deck, but this eliminated any rattling on the interior and exterior. I've already metered her, the loudest frequency is 32 hz and she does a 140.8. on the dash and a …

I just bought a 95 Cadillac Eldorado. It has the factory amplified system in it, so I have to run all new wires, amp, speakers, etc. I'm still trying to decide what i'm going to run in it. So far I'm thinking an Alpine IXA-W404 for the head unit, PXA-H100 eq, a set of focal 165a1 components running active, a dsc480 or dsc4125 to run the front stage, my saz-1500d to run the sub stage and probably 1 15" ported through the back deck or one sealed 18". For electrical, it has a new Interstate 800 cca main battery, I'll put my kinetic HC1400 in the trunk, run 1/0 main power and do the big three in 1/0. Here are some pics, and feel free to comment on my planned system. Also I'm …

This is the optimal design for the X Con 18. My BTL 18 is going to be going into it. I got the design from the site here, thanks SSA! I've still got a lot of sanding to do. I did all of this last weekend. I'll be finishing it up this weekend. I've still got a lot of wiring to do. I've got a 270 amp Mechman alternator to put in. I've got 50 foot of 1/0, which I'm hoping will be enough. I think I'm going to use my starting battery I've got, a Napa 70 series or something, I'll have to look at the specs and post if anyones interested. I've got a big Wal-Mart brand battery with dual terminals I'm going to put in the back. I'll probably eventually get some better batteries once…

Took couple pics when building, will take some pics of all in truck tomorrow. Still got to put other front on, make trim panels and repaint inside of box. But i can do all that while its in the truck. I am using matt and fiberglass on all seams inside, has 1" rods inside, and adding all thread from side to side for extra bracing. Hopefully will be finished by tuesday. Still got lot left to do, but had to put in truck while i had the extra help to move it. So far, just from playing around a little it sounds alot louder, has a total di…
