I am starting a new kefed enclosure for two Pioneer ts-w3002d4 subs. I am a little unsure of how to calculate the volume of the kerfed or flared port. I have two designs so far but I am unsure of which will be the best.

So I am posting this a part of the criteria of the Second Skin Audio Promotion give away. I would like to start by thanking Anthony from Second Skin as well as everyone at Second Skin!! Now onto the review.. Upon pick up of the deadner as soon as i grabbed the box I knew the deadner would be great. You could feel it in the wieght of the box itself lol..! Any how I tossed the box into the trunk and instantly popped open the box and was at a loss of words when i saw how nice the black backing looks on this stuff. As I pulled out a sheet I could already tell Damplifier Pro was a much better deadner than Dynamat Extreme wich i have used in the past. It is not only thicker bu…

More like big two cause I didnt ground the alt to the chassis. There wasnt any dedicated ground post on the stock alt so I thought I would put it in later. Thought the other two were the most important anyway. Maybe when I get a new alt for her, I'll do the third. That will be expensive though! Should have done this a long time ago but I was off work due to the weather today. What better time to do it then now? Had to get some new battery post terminals as they wouldnt work with my 1/0 terminals. Put the black loom on there to make it look nice too. It was lying around so why not? Right off the batt I could tell the difference. The lights dont dim anymore and it even seem…

  8. - Nightshade 18'' with new aluminum pole plug with 4 spiders (2 soft, 2 hard) - Audioque 2200d @ 1 ohm - 8'' Sonotube - ~5^3 @ 32Hz After all displacements other than port displacement, I was at 5.38 cubes. I put 12.75'' of port inside and 7.85'' outside the box for a total of 20.6''. 12.75 is about the max inside the box I can fit because I want 8'' clearence from bottom of port to the bottom of box. The port is 8'' diameter and tuning is 32hz. I'm not sure if I have the correct amount of port on the outside..but I can always add on. If anyone can chime in on this, that'd help alot. This is my first own box build Had some trouble reaching all the w…

First off i would like to appolgize to Ant at Second Skin for taking so long in making a build log, the average 25 degree weather made it difficult. But never mind the complaining. I already have used the damplifer pro on my car already so i know this stuff is legit. I opened up my package and noticed it was the black foil. Had a slightly different smell compared to the regular silver foil (don't ask how i noticed). But anyways lets get started! Heres a couple pics of my car....

I just cut out the speaker hole. The port still needs to be glued in. more to come.

1.9 cubes net tuned to 34hz. Its weird that I have a trend of boxes with the 34hz tune lol. This is for an eclipse convertible so space is a big issue. But yeah, sub up port to the rear. flush mount and all rounded outside corners. 40.5 in^2 of port. I wanted to go more but space was an issue again.

NOTE: This is a comparison pic from the 4 gauge I used in my last build. The amp is a SAZ-2000D purchased from the presale. The battery is a Batcap 2000. The box installed... I'm using an Eclipse headunit with nav and ipod. And lastly my bass remote.

Couple Light coats of spray bedliner, turned out pretty good. As it sits now. Amp mounted on back of box. Overall i think it was a pretty decent install. This was an interesting design for this guy. Design calls for 2 boxes. One specifically for daily driving music and another for straight competition. The designs are for an SUV. Setup- 4 Sundown SA-8s off of 2 Sundown SAE-1200ds Daily Driver- 3.6cuft tuned to ~31hz Now for the almighty SPL box. A true spl box is one that can be continuously modified until maximum output is found. This doesn't just mean port length tuning but firing direction too! The following box design is an interchangeable baffle. Yep, you read that right, interchangeable baffle with 4 position port firing locations capable PLUS the capability of fine tuning this box from 32.5Hz - 62Hz. Please Note, T…

I'm building up a "foundation" for a future bass race setup in my Jeep. Right now, it's just for two 15's but I would like to get some heavy duty 18's in the future once I add more power to the mix.... The rear chamber is 9 cubes tuned to 33 hz and the front chamber is big with a big port The port and subs from the rear chamber will be facing right in front of the loading wall. For anybody that asks why I used particle board....Lowe's was out of MDF, plus it was cheaper. Not a big deal to be honest. We'll start off with what was in my Jeep before: Start of the tear out...
