im building a ported box for my blaupunkt 12inch vw1200 sub. it is powered by a audiobahn a8002t amp. it is in a sealed 1.25 cu ft. box but i am looking to build a 1.98 cu ft ported box. so i have alot of questions. first off any of you like blaupunkt? how big should the slotted port be (1 or 2 inches)? also i plan on painting the box first with a oil based primer and then with a automotive paint since i have alot of a sky blue paint left. also i plan on putting the sub to the very right of the box and have the left side of the box ported. also i have no idea on how to tune fequencies if someone could explain more in detail for me. i will post pictures soon. should come …

So after a long time of admiring and contemplating the ssa evil, I was pleastly surprised that they offer it in 12" now. Did a lot of question asking, researching and lucky for me the tax sale started , so I finally went ahead and purchased two and a pair of the evil Mids. Because of the build time it gives me time to stack up some money for an amp to push it. Ive tried searching for info on these but there's not that many info I was able to find on the 12s and on the mids. So I'll be sure to get some vids up and post my experience with it to help any future bass heads who wanna know more about these. Can't wait, it was a hard decision between these and the …

First and foremost thanks a million to Nem who set me up with an awesome Zed Lev and answered all of my questions I had. I finally got a finished build that I'm pretty happy with. Maybe a few more things to do down the road but that's to be seen. Sorry for the large pictures. My work is pretty shoddy, especially with that ensolite foam but it works well.Everything sounds great, this is my first build that I dont have a massive amount of space to work with. All of this tucks away nicely behind the rear seat. My next build will consist of two 12bl's fully loaded and an AQ2200d. The box will be ported and built to specs. Now the only problem im going facing is that when running 2200WRMS, do you have to upgrade your alternator? or will you be fine with the xs 3100d? I will only play my system 3/4 of the way up for about 10min every day. Big 3 upgrade is already done.

ok, first of all before I even ask this, I know having them behind me is not optimal, but right now the only speakers I have are xplod 6.5's behind me and its fine, this is one of the work rigs and it isnt getting anything fancy. pioneer 600UB infinity 475a audiobahn ABC600V audiobahn AW1051T if it works, cone moves with no coil-scraping sound, but it did sit in the shed for 3 years and got a little wet and the magnet cover got a little rusty... (I think its a 1051, got it years ago and the stickers fallen off the magnet) it is going to be a simple small sealed box down firing on the floor behind the front pass. seat (rear seat is removed and rear area is used for tools).…

So I picked up a 2011 Jeep just over 2 weeks ago and I am starting my build, its going to be a long time before all is said and done but ill be slowly accumulating the pieces over the next 2-3 months. I had a box designed and I am almost done building it. Its 5.5 cu. ft. tuned to 32 hz and my truck If anybody can help me i dont know how to rotate this pic^ Im planning on 2 12" ZCONs D1 fully loaded on a BC5500 Im thinking about what to do for the front end, I'm probably going to keep my stock head unit and go active with a 3sixty, MiniDSP, or a Bit Ten D. and Ive been looking at PWX 6.5s to replace my stock 6 x 9s but im open to any other opti…

Alright well, this is my second real system. My first one was a package deal with sony xplods!!!!! hah anyways, they sounded good for the price but after a LONG time of thinking, and I'm talking very long, I decided on the BTL. I have most of the stuff for the install, but this will be a pretty long one due to school, and my resources. I have an 02 explorer xlt. Here is a pic of it: I already have the remote wire, and the RCA's installed on the stock head unit (upgrading that later when I get more $$), and a 200 amp alternator. Heres what has to go in: (2 batterys) (third battery, can't decide if I want to put all 3, just the other two, or just this one?) I'll …

I'm new to the SSA forum, posting from San Antonio, TX. I recently installed a 12 inch Xcon d1 in my civic, thought I'd let you guys check it out... So far Ive installed a new head unit, sub and amp, speaker amp and 6x9's in the rear, custom trunk floor and "the big three". I've also "sound deadened" the rear deck, rear quarter panels (two door civic), rear pillars and floor with a mix of a quick roof type product, some carpet padding called hair mat and typical 3/4 in" open celled carpet foam. Unfortunately I didn't get any good pix of the deadening installation so I'll post what I have so far. Its mostly box build pix and my custom trunk floor but I'll definitely post …

This is the car that got me the name audio-neon. The car that started it all. It took me 2 years to pay off. It lived several iterations of equipment, and it was my baby. The journey starts in December of 2004. I was a Junior in High School and I received this car fresh in paint, completely rebuilt. It was my baby. A 1998 Dodge Neon Coupe 2-door. In 2004 I added polk dB series coaxials. 6.5" in front and 6x9 in the rear. By late 2005 I was getting an itch for more. I went to my local car Audio shops and decided that Audio Obsessions was the place for me. Top notch customer service, and they were professional. They added a jvc 2 channel amp and a 12" Eclipse subwoofer. …

More like big two cause I didnt ground the alt to the chassis. There wasnt any dedicated ground post on the stock alt so I thought I would put it in later. Thought the other two were the most important anyway. Maybe when I get a new alt for her, I'll do the third. That will be expensive though! Should have done this a long time ago but I was off work due to the weather today. What better time to do it then now? Had to get some new battery post terminals as they wouldnt work with my 1/0 terminals. Put the black loom on there to make it look nice too. It was lying around so why not? Right off the batt I could tell the difference. The lights dont dim anymore and it even seem…

I posted this over at ca.com and I thought I would post it over here too. Here ya go. Well I finished building the box, besides Lowes not very good job at cutting wood (the very end up the left side of the port is probably 1/2 inch short), I think it came out pretty nice considering it is my first box. It is 7.75 cufeet tuned to 30 hz. Well here it is- The design by BuckyBoy Setting it up seeing how well all the pieces fit together Doing something Showing how huge the box is Putting it together drawing a hole Cut the circle

I finally got my box painted and put in the truck. This is my first FI product as I did a lot of online reading before settling on a BL. I've had Kicker 12 L7s, Pioneer SPL 10s and old school Kickers. This BL by far is the loudest sub I've had and it hits the lows very well and still has very good musical abilities. I am very impressed with it so far. I set the amp with a DMM and did the big 3 in 1/0. I had dimming before with just the mid/high amp (zr240 on the Focal polyglass 6.5 comps). No dimming now at all. I tuned the box to approximately 33 Hz. It is right at 4 cubes and its the first time I've done anything with fiberglass. It has 5 yards of mat and 2 ga…

Some equipment pictures..... I've waited long enough to start a build log. This one may progress slowly compared to my usual ~2 day builds I'm used to. But never the less, mmmm selenium + eminence + fi? Maybe I will have to add Sundown + DC as well? Still throwing ideas around.
