Gonna start the build log for this customer i'm building a box for. Here's the specs we are going for in this box. Internal Volume: 13.006 ft^3 Port Area: 232.5 in^2 Port Tune: 31.23 hertz With the max dimensions the customer wants to use, we're looking at 2.16ft^3/sub before actuall speaker displacement. This should work out right around spec to these subs. Sub up, Port back design, pretty straight forward. It's gonna be big. lol Currently the customer had a local shop (audio express, home of the $1 dollar wire fire) build him a box. They gave him three seperate boxes, two per box, with some really nasty tuning and build quality was horrible. I'm trying to remed…

I ordered the sub last thursday I dont know when it will be here though. The box is finally all cut up just have to assemble now, which should be tomorrow. So im using mostly 1" industrial PB, with some 3/4 mdf (hate the stuff, at least hardware store grade anyway) here and there, should be about 32hz @ 2.5 for daily. Its 34x16x16 externally, pretty big for a 12 I think, and its gonna be pretty heavy The cutlist: 45's: Hmm I wonder what these slots are for... No bracing besides the 45's which dont really count, this PB is incredibly beast More pics tomorrow and hopefully it will be done and the sub will come in soonish

  7. custom 1997 pontiac firebird sub box and amp rack. i decided to build my box and post pics. the amp rack is also made by me. i work at lowes in the lumber dept. so i picked up our oak birch plywood for $5 for a 4x8 sheet in good condition. just was cut into 2x4 pieces and the customer decided not to buy. i have to say the install came out perfect, and it looks great in person. as if a real professional built it. im 19. and me and my dad made this in about 6-7 hours. i wrapped the boxes myself and he helped me put them together. not bad for only my 5th box build. i have to give credit to the person that created the design of the sub box that i made. it helped me alot. he p…

Well I have been working on my car for about 2 weeks now and figured I should post up some pics of the build. The car is being built to compete in MECA's amatuer street SQ class. The car is not 100% done yet, it just needs to be made pretty and then I am set, but that won't happen before the comp. at Casper Saturday. Before I begin I want to say thank you to Mark at SSA (for one of the best sounding subs that I have ever heard), Jacob at Sundown (for some very well built amps), all of my buddies at SoundCheck (Goddie, Cooper, RP, Hank, and Ryan), and my team mates Marshall and Chris. Equipment being used is in my sig. Here are the pics in order (somewhat)

mmk so the time has come for the teardown! as much as it hurts me to destroy my own work, i have to do it! Next year it will be MUCHHH better. so the first plan is to rebuild the box. the plan is to keep the back, bottom, and sides. but do away with the front. i will add about 10 inches or so to the top oof the box with a 1 1/2 baffle board with flushed FI SSD woofers. the batterys and MA Audio amps will be displayed on the front of the box and all flushed in..the box will be ported out the back and tuned to 33 hz for dailly. and there will be a romovable plate on the port to raise the frequency to around 44 for competitions. and finally the inside will be glassed. if yo…

Well i finally got my truck and got my SAZ-1000D in and my 10" SSA icon. Man it sounds good. I have never heard a sub with such accuracy and overall sound quality. It has a lot of output for a little 10 and i am very happy with it. Anyways this set up is temporary until i build a new box and find somewhere to stick the amp. Box is 1.35^3@32hz. Its pretty good for my 3rd box i would say and i designed it myself. Just got to figure out if im gunna carpet it or paint. Edit - Also my first install that i did everything myself and its still not done. On to the pics - The truck - 01' GMC Sierra with 47k miles. So far all i have done is get the windows tinted and the sub in. …

  23. My name is Kyle Golden, im 17, and this is my 1994 GMC Yukon. It was fully built by me at age 16. The only thing i did notdo completly by myself was the paint and prep. My parents bought the original vehicle for me for 2k before i even had my license. I had been installing for almost a year at that time and learned all of my knowledge from fiends at local shops, 10 years worth of CA&E magazines, and numerous online forums and tutorial sites. I began work on it in May of 2007 and started by complety gutting the entire vehicle. ever since i began lookin at pictures in CA&E when i was liek 5 i had always had a vision of MY system in my head.
