BIG install coming soon!.... This is my first build out....the only experience i have with glass are with the 2 kick pods i have in there now and it was a learning one! They turned out great but i made the mistake of drilling a big hole through the back to port them...oooops! They made $800 dollar comps sound like a gramaphone....so I'm making new ones. Along with, 2 pods on rear of the headliner, 2 amp racks on the rear panels and 2 enclosures above the wheel well. The equipment... Current System: Kenwood KDC-X890 Head unit Phoenix Gold ZX475 Amp Phoenix Gold XO Elite TI6 Comps Made by Morel 12" Fosgate Punch HE2 Dual 4ohm in a HUGE bandbass box Adding: 2 DLS 8'' Coax S…

Here's the build log for the volvo so far already have the box built and the subs thumping thanks to "SirLancelot" Running two 12inch fully loaded Fi BL'S! Box is tuned in the 32half hz mark. about 4.4cubic feet all togther after displacement and some bracing(2.2cubic per sub). The subs are running off a Pa 4000w bamf at this moment but not giving the kick i need so i upgraded to the AQ 2200. All wondering how your going to power that beast, already installed a alt Bosch high output 100amp alt(Dont laugh at the 100ampns of it way beefier then you think). One yellow top under the hood about to throw three more yellows in the back on some good 1/0gauge wire from koncepts a…

This is the car that got me the name audio-neon. The car that started it all. It took me 2 years to pay off. It lived several iterations of equipment, and it was my baby. The journey starts in December of 2004. I was a Junior in High School and I received this car fresh in paint, completely rebuilt. It was my baby. A 1998 Dodge Neon Coupe 2-door. In 2004 I added polk dB series coaxials. 6.5" in front and 6x9 in the rear. By late 2005 I was getting an itch for more. I went to my local car Audio shops and decided that Audio Obsessions was the place for me. Top notch customer service, and they were professional. They added a jvc 2 channel amp and a 12" Eclipse subwoofer. …

After my break in, the false floor was contorted and would be a disaster to fix. On the plus side, this gives me a chance to redesign the box fixing the problems with the first one. To save space, this box will be sealed. It will be 2.3 cu.ft., ployfil-filled, and passenger side facing. Tomorrow I plan to get the wood and cut the boards up. My dead line is Saturday, as I move back to school on Sunday. From the rear of the vehicle, looking into the cab. The small box represents the battery and will be secured somehow. The "floor" extension is to secure the box from sliding/falling. From the passenger side at floor level. I will be returning the floor to stock.…

Thought I would share the install my new friend John at Hand crafted Car Audio of Chandler AZ did for me a couple weeks ago. I met John through a Second Skin sales rep named Bob Morrow. Some of you guys already know of Bobs Tacoma which has been reviewed in this DIYMA thread: http://www.diymobileaudio.com/forum/member-product-reviews/60325-bob-morrows-h-t-tacoma.html So Bob introduced me to John, one of the customers he calls on. John is a true DIY guy turned professional. He works out of the garage in his home in east Chandler AZ and within the first minute of walking in, I knew I was in the right place. The tools he has and the cleanliness alone were enough to make mos…

This box is for a 18" RD Alpha V1 6.75ft^3 net tuned to 34hz with 111 in^2 of port (this thing is HUGE) Due to the size I have to do the carpet a little different so I figured this would be a great time to try this out.

Well my initial build at the moment is relatively complete, but of course I have future plans. Therefore Ill just post some pictures and you can comment and ask questions about the build if you wish. Ill add more pictures when I get back home, next week. Im thinking of doing fiberglass doors with an 8" mid, 6.5" mid, and a supertweet. Then add two more dcons, maybe ported maybe sealed, not sure.. If that doesnt do it for me, Im thinking SSA Icon 18s.

Well i built a fiberglass box for my truck a few months ago back when i was in high school still, and it did pretty good on the meter (140.0) but i wanted to go a little louder without having to change setups completely. I decided to build a box to go where my center console was. The box itself is 1.9 cubes tuned to 33 hz (made for my new Fi Bl 12 coming in), but i decided to put in the DP for the time being. There was a noticeable difference in the sound and loudness of this box over my other one, but this one will only be used for competitions, or when i don't need a center seat (can't put the GF beside ya when this is in. haha) So i went and got it metered yesterday. S…

Didn't find a category for this but it is somewhat a build log and there are no guidelines that say it has to be about car audio. So, I took a break from messing with the Camry for about 1 week or so.... This is what kept my time...Let me know what you guys think... This was the original desk, second-hand but looks like it was maybe from Kmart or Staples... Notice the bow in the center? The desk was perfect for about 1.5yrs and I'm assuming the "compressed wood" could not handle the weight of my desk mount arm for my 24" monitor: Items bought at Home Depot: Transformation: Everything set up again:

I have posted a few times for direction and info and such and figured I would make a build log just to keep up wih whats going on with the car. Right now the car is more performance than audio but Im soon to even it out haha Right now I am running 2 Kappa VDQ12s off a Punch Power 500a2 (black and grind) My projected plans so far consist of: 3 SA8 1 SAX1000D As of right now I havent set in stone what Im going to run for highs nor what deck I will use. The Head unit I have now is a nice older kenwood but I think I may step it up to something newer. Here are a couple pics of the car and my start to the system: The car: The start of the madness: Just the template so far fo…

OK guys, theres finally gonna be a show in my area so I decided I would try to throw something together real quick,as the show is on the 28th and I just got started.Heres what I had lying around:my HU is an older model Eclipse 54400,next in line is an AudioControl EQL feeding only the highs amp,an Orion HP4800,which runs bi-amped to a set of older MB Quart Reference x-overs.For mids I had a set of Boston Rally 6.5"s(I know theyre nothing like the Pros),for tweets the only thing I could find is a set of stock VW tweets I pulled out at the shop, not really as bad as I had expected though. For my low end I have the rear channels ran directly to an Orion HCCA D1200(again,NOTHING…
