ok, first of all before I even ask this, I know having them behind me is not optimal, but right now the only speakers I have are xplod 6.5's behind me and its fine, this is one of the work rigs and it isnt getting anything fancy. pioneer 600UB infinity 475a audiobahn ABC600V audiobahn AW1051T if it works, cone moves with no coil-scraping sound, but it did sit in the shed for 3 years and got a little wet and the magnet cover got a little rusty... (I think its a 1051, got it years ago and the stickers fallen off the magnet) it is going to be a simple small sealed box down firing on the floor behind the front pass. seat (rear seat is removed and rear area is used for tools).…

Hey guys ~ Haven't posted on here in a little while and figured i'd show you all what I'v been up to. Business has been good and I was fortunate enough to be able to construct this enclosure designed by the owner(s) of Phantom Soundz! This was going under the seat of a 2001 sierra cab, with the subs downfiring. Lot's of work went into this Let me know what you think! Shoot me any PM's if any of you are interested in getting something built! Enjoy! Dustin

Well i built a fiberglass box for my truck a few months ago back when i was in high school still, and it did pretty good on the meter (140.0) but i wanted to go a little louder without having to change setups completely. I decided to build a box to go where my center console was. The box itself is 1.9 cubes tuned to 33 hz (made for my new Fi Bl 12 coming in), but i decided to put in the DP for the time being. There was a noticeable difference in the sound and loudness of this box over my other one, but this one will only be used for competitions, or when i don't need a center seat (can't put the GF beside ya when this is in. haha) So i went and got it metered yesterday. S…

I've driven around my 2006 altima about six months now listening to the factory BOSE system. While it is nice, I felt it somewhat lacking. Thus I began my search. I've come to decide that I would like to build an SQ oriented daily driver from scratch with my only contraint being time. I'll have to tackle this in the few hours I have after work in the evenings. Enough of my life story, on to the build. Source Alpine IVA-W200 with video bypass, bluetooth interface, and IPOD adapter. (Shipping) Alpine PXA-H701 (Planned) eD Nine.5 & Nine.4 - can't complain much, they were free BNIB from my brother-in-law. Front Stage Second Skin Damplifier Pro and Luxury Liner (Planned) …

Thought I would share the install my new friend John at Hand crafted Car Audio of Chandler AZ did for me a couple weeks ago. I met John through a Second Skin sales rep named Bob Morrow. Some of you guys already know of Bobs Tacoma which has been reviewed in this DIYMA thread: http://www.diymobileaudio.com/forum/member-product-reviews/60325-bob-morrows-h-t-tacoma.html So Bob introduced me to John, one of the customers he calls on. John is a true DIY guy turned professional. He works out of the garage in his home in east Chandler AZ and within the first minute of walking in, I knew I was in the right place. The tools he has and the cleanliness alone were enough to make mos…

This was an interesting design for this guy. Design calls for 2 boxes. One specifically for daily driving music and another for straight competition. The designs are for an SUV. Setup- 4 Sundown SA-8s off of 2 Sundown SAE-1200ds Daily Driver- 3.6cuft tuned to ~31hz Now for the almighty SPL box. A true spl box is one that can be continuously modified until maximum output is found. This doesn't just mean port length tuning but firing direction too! The following box design is an interchangeable baffle. Yep, you read that right, interchangeable baffle with 4 position port firing locations capable PLUS the capability of fine tuning this box from 32.5Hz - 62Hz. Please Note, T…

This is the car that got me the name audio-neon. The car that started it all. It took me 2 years to pay off. It lived several iterations of equipment, and it was my baby. The journey starts in December of 2004. I was a Junior in High School and I received this car fresh in paint, completely rebuilt. It was my baby. A 1998 Dodge Neon Coupe 2-door. In 2004 I added polk dB series coaxials. 6.5" in front and 6x9 in the rear. By late 2005 I was getting an itch for more. I went to my local car Audio shops and decided that Audio Obsessions was the place for me. Top notch customer service, and they were professional. They added a jvc 2 channel amp and a 12" Eclipse subwoofer. …

I finally got my box painted and put in the truck. This is my first FI product as I did a lot of online reading before settling on a BL. I've had Kicker 12 L7s, Pioneer SPL 10s and old school Kickers. This BL by far is the loudest sub I've had and it hits the lows very well and still has very good musical abilities. I am very impressed with it so far. I set the amp with a DMM and did the big 3 in 1/0. I had dimming before with just the mid/high amp (zr240 on the Focal polyglass 6.5 comps). No dimming now at all. I tuned the box to approximately 33 Hz. It is right at 4 cubes and its the first time I've done anything with fiberglass. It has 5 yards of mat and 2 ga…

I figured I would go ahead and start a build log to keep track of my progress. My current vehicle is a 1994 GMC Jimmy 4 door 4wd. I haven't had a system in any of my vehicles in a very long time, and for some reason i got the itch. So, this build began. The Truck: First, I built this box to put in it, 4 ft^3 tuned to 33Hz (Thanks to Duane on this forum for the design): I hadn't used a jig saw in quite some time and was a bit rusty, so the speaker cutouts were too big and they were leaking. I was going to replace the top panel and redo the cuts, but before I could do that I had someone stop by the shop and offer me some cash for the box so I sold it before i was able…

I have posted a few times for direction and info and such and figured I would make a build log just to keep up wih whats going on with the car. Right now the car is more performance than audio but Im soon to even it out haha Right now I am running 2 Kappa VDQ12s off a Punch Power 500a2 (black and grind) My projected plans so far consist of: 3 SA8 1 SAX1000D As of right now I havent set in stone what Im going to run for highs nor what deck I will use. The Head unit I have now is a nice older kenwood but I think I may step it up to something newer. Here are a couple pics of the car and my start to the system: The car: The start of the madness: Just the template so far fo…

so here is kind of a work log for the new bass i gots goin on. The box was designed an built by Rich aka Stratusrt01. it's by far the best, loudest, cleanest box i've heard for a single 12. I would extremely reccomend getting a box from him. the butt end tinsels portage (don't mind the small pile of dust also ups kinda dinged the box and ripped the carpet by the port, not Rich's fault) and full trunk

Hi, I'm looking to upgrade my new 2021 Mazda CX-5 6 speakers version (non-Bose). I was thinking about 6.5" Component at front and 6.5 Coxial/Mid Bass at the rear doors, connected to a 4 Channel Amp and JBL Basspro Hub at the spare tire ( I don't want to lose space at the boot). Now, it's a bit tricky to know which speakers will fit at the doors as I couldn't find any documentation of depth compatibility for the Mazda CX-5 online. Does anyone know ? Also, without knowing the exact size can you recommend any setup for a very clear & crisp sound without compromise ? originally I was thinking to go with: Front Component:JL Audio C2-650C / Hertz Mi…

Started on these around a week ago and decided to show my progress on here as well. I have posted these on http://www.fiberglassforums.com as well, where I have been doing alot of reading and picking up alot of great info. But this will be slow but constant as i don't get alot of time to work on them right now. So onto the pics... 1st getting the door ready to be cut.. now with the door cut.. And some of the ribs ground off... made a template out of carboard for the shape and cut the base out of birch ply so I can mount it by screws from the back.... Now trying to decide what location of the speakers I prefer, choice 1.. Or choice 2, which is what I think I am go…

BIG install coming soon!.... This is my first build out....the only experience i have with glass are with the 2 kick pods i have in there now and it was a learning one! They turned out great but i made the mistake of drilling a big hole through the back to port them...oooops! They made $800 dollar comps sound like a gramaphone....so I'm making new ones. Along with, 2 pods on rear of the headliner, 2 amp racks on the rear panels and 2 enclosures above the wheel well. The equipment... Well my initial build at the moment is relatively complete, but of course I have future plans. Therefore Ill just post some pictures and you can comment and ask questions about the build if you wish. Ill add more pictures when I get back home, next week. Im thinking of doing fiberglass doors with an 8" mid, 6.5" mid, and a supertweet. Then add two more dcons, maybe ported maybe sealed, not sure.. If that doesnt do it for me, Im thinking SSA Icon 18s.
