I figured I would go ahead and start a build log to keep track of my progress. My current vehicle is a 1994 GMC Jimmy 4 door 4wd. I haven't had a system in any of my vehicles in a very long time, and for some reason i got the itch. So, this build began. The Truck: First, I built this box to put in it, 4 ft^3 tuned to 33Hz (Thanks to Duane on this forum for the design): I hadn't used a jig saw in quite some time and was a bit rusty, so the speaker cutouts were too big and they were leaking. I was going to replace the top panel and redo the cuts, but before I could do that I had someone stop by the shop and offer me some cash for the box so I sold it before i was able…

This box is for a 18" RD Alpha V1 6.75ft^3 net tuned to 34hz with 111 in^2 of port (this thing is HUGE) Due to the size I have to do the carpet a little different so I figured this would be a great time to try this out.

so here is kind of a work log for the new bass i gots goin on. The box was designed an built by Rich aka Stratusrt01. it's by far the best, loudest, cleanest box i've heard for a single 12. I would extremely reccomend getting a box from him. the butt end tinsels portage (don't mind the small pile of dust also ups kinda dinged the box and ripped the carpet by the port, not Rich's fault) and full trunk

I recently did a Cadillac Escalade ESV for a buddy of mine with (2) Fi BL 18's with the flatwound coil and cooling option. Built the box to 14.63 cubic feet with the port tuned to 33 hertz. Wrapped it in vinyl to match the interior of the vehicle and did a big "Fi" logo on the back of the box (notice the logo is an "innie", not an "outie".The amp, for now, is a Hifonics BXI2010D that puts out 1752 watts RMS. I will be swapped with a Rockford Fosgate T40001bd eventually. Built to be a daily driver. Here it is: Sounds great. Real nice quality and it really hits the lows nice, but it just isn't near as loud as it could be with the right amount of power goin…

This was an interesting design for this guy. Design calls for 2 boxes. One specifically for daily driving music and another for straight competition. The designs are for an SUV. Setup- 4 Sundown SA-8s off of 2 Sundown SAE-1200ds Daily Driver- 3.6cuft tuned to ~31hz Now for the almighty SPL box. A true spl box is one that can be continuously modified until maximum output is found. This doesn't just mean port length tuning but firing direction too! The following box design is an interchangeable baffle. Yep, you read that right, interchangeable baffle with 4 position port firing locations capable PLUS the capability of fine tuning this box from 32.5Hz - 62Hz. Please Note, T…

Huge thanks to Jacob @ Sundown for hooking me up with a combo of amps that does more than I could ask for!! Thanks to Pipo and Scott for doing the custom Ascendant Dust caps for me. Thanks to Aaron for building the box for me. Thanks to Travis and Tony for helping out with putting the car together. Best team mates in the world.....by far!!!! Things left to do: Buy batteries. The stock one isn't going to last much longer. Build trim panels for the front and rear of the box. Permanently mount box. Clean up wires. Deaden doors. Sealed back eminence 8's in rear deck add another Sundown 125.2 Equipment List: Source - Alpine IDA-X305 Changer - Alpine CHA-S624 Door Speakers…

I posted this over at ca.com and I thought I would post it over here too. Here ya go. Well I finished building the box, besides Lowes not very good job at cutting wood (the very end up the left side of the port is probably 1/2 inch short), I think it came out pretty nice considering it is my first box. It is 7.75 cufeet tuned to 30 hz. Well here it is- The design by BuckyBoy Setting it up seeing how well all the pieces fit together Doing something Showing how huge the box is Putting it together drawing a hole Cut the circle

So it finally got delivered last night at around 1030 pm from Rutland VT. I have always dreamed of owning a muscle era car, and decided that this year instead of building a computer or blowing my money elsewhere, that I would look for a project car with my tax return. After several weeks of looking, this is what I have found. The car is home, and after adding some gas it started right up. The stainless steel brake lines I ordered for the car have arrived, and after a short test drive today, I found out that it has either an oil or cooling system problem, and an evident misfire. That being said, this is a long term project that I hope to keep you guys in the l…

Howdy all, I finally took the time to order all the parts for Zaph Audio's Bargain Mini Build. I will be constructing the crossovers and the boxes and throwing it all together. I will say first that my build will probably not be the prettiest ever. I actually only get time to work on this when I travel back to my hometown for a weekend. However, I am just trying to get some nice sounding speakers together and hopefully this will be my gateway to bigger and better builds. First off are the components Next is the crossover mock up. I did this to get the correct sizing for the crossover so it will fit in the relatively small box. I was very surprised about the size and hef…

OK guys, theres finally gonna be a show in my area so I decided I would try to throw something together real quick,as the show is on the 28th and I just got started.Heres what I had lying around:my HU is an older model Eclipse 54400,next in line is an AudioControl EQL feeding only the highs amp,an Orion HP4800,which runs bi-amped to a set of older MB Quart Reference x-overs.For mids I had a set of Boston Rally 6.5"s(I know theyre nothing like the Pros),for tweets the only thing I could find is a set of stock VW tweets I pulled out at the shop, not really as bad as I had expected though. For my low end I have the rear channels ran directly to an Orion HCCA D1200(again,NOTHING…
