OK guys, theres finally gonna be a show in my area so I decided I would try to throw something together real quick,as the show is on the 28th and I just got started.Heres what I had lying around:my HU is an older model Eclipse 54400,next in line is an AudioControl EQL feeding only the highs amp,an Orion HP4800,which runs bi-amped to a set of older MB Quart Reference x-overs.For mids I had a set of Boston Rally 6.5"s(I know theyre nothing like the Pros),for tweets the only thing I could find is a set of stock VW tweets I pulled out at the shop, not really as bad as I had expected though. For my low end I have the rear channels ran directly to an Orion HCCA D1200(again,NOTHING…

  2. This little build here is for a co-worker. He bought the old Hifonics equipment out of the van from me and plans on giving this truck to his son to drive in about a year or less. The system was designed on a fairly short budget, though he didn't want to cut many corners there's still almost $1,000 in it. Equipment consists of a Hifonics ZXi 6006 amp for the components, a Hifonics BXi2006D sub amp, a pair of 12" Hifonics Zeus subs, CDT COM-626 6.5" 2 way components and a JVC KD-HDR60 head unit. He purchased a "custom" enclosure from ebay for an easy fit under the rear seat. It's a sealed enclosure totaling 2.2cuft. net volume (according to the manufacturer) and he rai…

  3. Howdy all, I finally took the time to order all the parts for Zaph Audio's Bargain Mini Build. I will be constructing the crossovers and the boxes and throwing it all together. I will say first that my build will probably not be the prettiest ever. I actually only get time to work on this when I travel back to my hometown for a weekend. However, I am just trying to get some nice sounding speakers together and hopefully this will be my gateway to bigger and better builds. First off are the components Next is the crossover mock up. I did this to get the correct sizing for the crossover so it will fit in the relatively small box. I was very surprised about the size and hef…

well i finallllyyyy get my mustang back in a few days from doing the T5 transmission swap. i have been slowly but surely getting a system together for it. This system is not meant to get loud and rattle everything apart. i listen to country and rock MOSTLY when i drive. but i rarley listen to the music because i LOVE listening to the sound of the V8 under the hood and duel exhaust anyways, here is what i have so far.... 2 12" kicker CVR's 1 kicker ZR240 (oldschool made in U.S.A amp ) and pioneer speakers all around. now my question is should i get a sealed box for the 12's, or ported? eventually (when the money is there) im switching to either 1 RE audio 12, 1 Fi audio…

im getting a new gcon 12" and just need to build a box for it. i want it ported, specs for the sub are 2.00-2.50cuft @ 28-33hz for ported box and 2.50-3.00 cuft @28- 30hz for ported optimal.... i came across this box diagram for a ssa dcon 12 but im not sure if it would also work for the gcon 12". http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/topic/45938-quote-for-225cuft-dcon-enclosure/page__p__726610__fromsearch__1#entry726610 if anyone has any dimensions for one could i bum them from you if not a little insight would help, Thanks.

So lets see how this goes. Dont have it all done now but more will be installed as time goes by and money comes into hand. 15" Mayhem with D1 gaps. AQ2200D Box in the first and second stage. Alpine CDA-9886(looked to cool like this to post a pic with the flash on) Im actually considering going back to my Panasonic CQ-7303U for the extra settings and motorized faceplate.

  11. Didn't find a category for this but it is somewhat a build log and there are no guidelines that say it has to be about car audio. So, I took a break from messing with the Camry for about 1 week or so.... This is what kept my time...Let me know what you guys think... This was the original desk, second-hand but looks like it was maybe from Kmart or Staples... Notice the bow in the center? The desk was perfect for about 1.5yrs and I'm assuming the "compressed wood" could not handle the weight of my desk mount arm for my 24" monitor: Items bought at Home Depot: Transformation: Everything set up again:

So I had a little build in a s-10 blazer and sold the truck. My new build is my 1991 Mustang convertible not a lot of room in here but once i got rid of the back seats room was not as much a problem. Sorry if some pics are out of focus the camera kind of sucks. got the run of 0 gauge under the driver seat and once the aq 4x90 gets here i can make my bracket to set the aq's on and build a box for my box where the aq is sitting right now. custom bracket made of diamond plate holding the knu 200a fuse knu battery terminal for up to 3 0 gauge wires. Maybe one day! the optima and 0 gauge knu the 5 1/4 alpines the stock location for some 5x7's but i f'ed up and bought 6x9'…

Just about finished it all up today, got a few more things to touch up but for the most part it is done. First off thanks to Matt at MCOR for giving me a hell of a deal and JL for coming through in the clutch and sending me a free t-shirt! The goal of the install was to get much improved sound while keeping it stealthy. I choose to go with JL Audio C5-650 Components powered off a Sundown 100.2 still with the factory head unit. The mids were placed into the stock locations, with baffles made onto the 6x9 brackets and the tweets placed into the kicks. Just about all the wires were techflexed, heatshrunk, and labeled for cleaniness and ease of install. The amplifier and…

I ordered the sub last thursday I dont know when it will be here though. The box is finally all cut up just have to assemble now, which should be tomorrow. So im using mostly 1" industrial PB, with some 3/4 mdf (hate the stuff, at least hardware store grade anyway) here and there, should be about 32hz @ 2.5 for daily. Its 34x16x16 externally, pretty big for a 12 I think, and its gonna be pretty heavy The cutlist: 45's: Hmm I wonder what these slots are for... No bracing besides the 45's which dont really count, this PB is incredibly beast More pics tomorrow and hopefully it will be done and the sub will come in soonish
