I'm doing a pair of old school JL 12W3s mainly because they have been sitting in my basement for 10 years and I'm sick of looking at them. 2 cubes each tuned to about 31hz or so. I will be using 4" areo ports also. Got started on them tonight.

Steve is a close friend of Big Dave and I guess they competed together years ago. While Big Dave likes to do things well, big, Steve is a bit more conservative which I can certainly appreciate. Here are some shots of Steve's build. Since taking these pics, Steve has added a second IXL-10, and is now talking about adding a third in order to enter a competition local to him (Ontario).

He just wants loud and clear(minimal break-up), without a major emphasis on FR. There will be 12 of these... ...in this! Power for subs will be ~4k. Front stage is yet to be nailed down.

Decided to do a stupidly cheap wall build in my festiva for shits and giggles. - 8-10 PW1074US super blues - audiopipe AP30001D - some cheap batteries - some cheap ass mids and tweeters. This build log thread will just be here to show it can be done. The build will start within the next few weeks if not months when I get off my lazy ass. Until then, tune in for the next build log which will be for another member on here, shakes.

Just about finished it all up today, got a few more things to touch up but for the most part it is done. First off thanks to Matt at MCOR for giving me a hell of a deal and JL for coming through in the clutch and sending me a free t-shirt! The goal of the install was to get much improved sound while keeping it stealthy. I choose to go with JL Audio C5-650 Components powered off a Sundown 100.2 still with the factory head unit. The mids were placed into the stock locations, with baffles made onto the 6x9 brackets and the tweets placed into the kicks. So for xmas this year, santa was nice enough to get me a new Xcon and a Sundown SAZ-1500d v2. I previously had a Death row 12 running on a rockford amp. It sounded pretty good to me. Thought it was decently loud and hit the lows well. That was until the Xcon was in my trunk running off the sundown. I only have it set around 800 watts (electrical kinda weak) and it is louder then the Death Row was, definately alot cleaner, and hits the lows way better. Both the boxes were tuned to about 30hz. I love the Xcon, and can see what all the hype was about. They are phenomal sounding woofers, and get pretty loud. Can't wait till I can run some more power to it. Anyways…

Built this for a Atomic AP/SPL. Sub is getting built with FI parts. Sub parts should be here tuesday and box is ready. This is going to be powered with an audiopipe 1500d and is going in a 2010 honda accord sedan. About 3.3 cubes tuned to 35hz with a single 6" aeroport. I'll be adding some polyfill to see how much better it would sound for the owner. Maybe about 3 lbs worth.

Was watching TV today when my boy came over and asked if I had any extra wood to build a box. Had some extra lil peices laying around. It literally took us ten minutes to build this box. Thought I would show a few pictures since I think it turned out nice when we rushed right through it. Hooked it up and it doesn't sound to bad for a ten minute job..

Got my stuff from Sundown yesterday! Heres the start of a lot of work to be done and a lot of money to be spent over time. The Second Skin is on the way, keep checking back! 2x SA 12's 4DVC 1x Sundown 1500 Big 3 I am not a professional box builder so don't pick on me. It turned out pretty good.

This is another build I'm doing for a friend of mine. I'm doing an audio and hydraulic install for him. Goals... Put a clean and simple system together. Keep wattage reasonable to avoid large electrical upgrades. Good overall sound quality and output. Use as little space possible for audio. Got the box started. Using 3/4" birch plywood with a double baffle. Here is a shot of the backside of the sub for those who haven't seen one of these subs yet. Had to get creative to fit a pair of 3" Aero ports in this box. It's tuned at 33hz with a box volume of 1.5 cubes. The "shrek" box. I'm trading my blazer for a ex.cab s10 tomorrow and need help with designing a box for my two hsd3 12's to b tuned at 30hz gunna push them with a 2000brx.1 amp s10's a 96 please help wanting subs to face roof I'm new to box building so cut sheet and a few blueprint pictures is greatly appreciated

I ordered the sub last thursday I dont know when it will be here though. The box is finally all cut up just have to assemble now, which should be tomorrow. So im using mostly 1" industrial PB, with some 3/4 mdf (hate the stuff, at least hardware store grade anyway) here and there, should be about 32hz @ 2.5 for daily. Its 34x16x16 externally, pretty big for a 12 I think, and its gonna be pretty heavy The cutlist: 45's: Hmm I wonder what these slots are for... No bracing besides the 45's which dont really count, this PB is incredibly beast More pics tomorrow and hopefully it will be done and the sub will come in soonish

I finally decided to clean out the garage and do a system in my own car and since my daughter is of to college(GO UK WILDCATS!!!) it will be very low budget. First the head unit. I'll be using an Eclipse CD3100. I've never used Eclipse before but it was a gift so I like the price. After I installed it in the dash I decided I didn't like the way it looked. So I made my own kit. I finally found a texture and color that I liked for the new kit. It's called Hammered-Steel and it come in a rattle can. Pretty cool stuff

Hey guys Im in need of some advice. I'm currently piecing together a setup which will be in a Trailblazer SS. So far I have my two BL 15s fully loaded (newer versions), JL 0/1 awg, and will be powered by a Crescendo BC3500d. I plan on buying a mechman 240 alt, xs power 3400 for under the hood and 3100 for out back. I'll probably have car tunes build my since they did a great job last time. I'm aware I should be running dual 0/1 for the batteries so I will but what else am I missing or should also do? Currently have 12 awg for the subs, should I go bigger? Also will my battery setup work fine at idle without crazy voltage drop? What about dual amp inputs? Any help and advi…

Hello, I haven't logged into this site in probably 6 years. Hello again. At any rate I recently acquired a new to me vehicle, a 2004.5 Chevy Silverado 2500HD Duramax. I haven't had any interest in car audio for a long time but I bought this truck and it has some odd Kenwood head unit and factory speakers which sound really bad, even by factory speaker standards. I planned on just getting a pair of speakers for the doors and calling it a day, while shopping I got the idea to do some other stuff with things I found in my garage. Well, just to update, I went over to wobbly woofers and had them "tune" my amps (which they did by turning my gain from less than 1/2 way to 3/4.....so at 1/2 volume I was at 10v), so I was like whatever, they know what they are doing.....(I hope), and i asked to get metered on their tl. With the mic in the kick and my door open, I did 142.8 @ 30hz, with the volume 1/2 way and at 12.2v Needless to say, after I left, I went back and adjusted it the way I had it, which is louder and sounds better to me and I can turn up the volume to about 3/4 and still have 13.5v banging.
