So, we did a rewire, and the Pioneer has been sitting for a little while. Went to test speakers and the h/u wouldnt power up, except the amps were turning on, h/u was getting power though. Fuse looked fine.

after buying these batteries i found out that they are 34M's and are "starting only". now does this matter? the MCA is 1000, CCA 800, AH 50, RC 100. Did i get ripped? (only paid 100 each) or are they good?

Ok I ran 0 gauge wiring for my saz-2500. I put a 250 amp inline fuse and as soon as I connected the negative terminal the inline fuse blew. So I pulled out the wiring to make sure it wasnt cut went it went through the firewall and disconnected the amp. Ran the wire outside the car without the amp connected and the fuse didn't blow. Connected the amp and the fuse blew once I connected the neg terminal. Faulty amp or am I missing something? Amp was a refurbished purchased from db-r.com. Any ideas I'd appreciate it.

Anyone know if the CCD-2400's are strappable? I just ordreed a pair of them and am trying to find out and Concept's Tech support has been less than fabulous. Trieid for over a week to get them to answer and email with a few questions with no response. I have called them half a dozen times with no answer at the Tech support line. So I have left some messages with no response. Is it possible they have just one tech guy and he is on vacation? I hope this is not a sign of things to come from them.

Plan on using the Hifonics, rated at 750w rms for my SSD 12" coming in soon but I was thinking about a JL 500/1 which is a class D versus A/B on the Hifonics. Is $150 a good deal for a used JL 500/1? I would think the JL offers a clean 500w and I've read the Hifonics are overrated. Which one would you guys go for? Thanks! Sunny

Ever sinced I changed my stock battery to a XS D1200, after a few days of the initial installation, been noticing the car is starting to take a hair longer to start... While working on the car today, i noticed right after i got done driving it.. it was reading 12.6v.. that's pretty low from just turning the car off. So i clamped the battery cable, reading 0.4A draw... hmmm... Pulling fuses under the hood and came up with this- AM2 fuse - (according to forums, controls Starter, fuel injectors, etc....) this fuse is pulling 0.15A DCC fuse - I do not know what this is but it is said dealers pull this fuse to prevent battery discharge if car is left unnattended for days. Thi…

Since a week or two, my Pioneer head unit has some problems. Sometimes the "face" doesn't respond, as if there is no power to it. It can happen with the music playing or with the h u off. If I unplug and the plug in the car fuse for the h u, eveything starts working again. If I press the reset button on the h u it starts working again, but I loose some settings. Do you know (or understand) what is happening ? Can it be a simple fix, or will I need to buy another h u ? Please help !!!

  13. I have a 1999 Buick Park Avenue and am getting ready to purchase the things that I am still missing in my setup. My main concern is my Audiobahn 2300hct powering my 2 12" JL W7's at 1ohm. I have a yellow top for the trunk and a capacitor as well, here is where I'm lost as I've never used an extra battery or a cap before. The AB has 4x40 fuses, and I also plan to buy a 4 channel amp that does 75x4 rms {not sure on model yet}. My first question is how many fuses should I run throughout setup? Currently I have a 200amp ANL fuse, should I run this 18" from the battery {front duralast, or trunk yellow top}, or should I run a 200amp ANL at each battery? I Also plan on purchasi…

Ok. Ever since I can remember I have had a small problem with dimming headlights. However, I never really noticed because I don't blast my system full tilt very often and hardly ever at night. For some reason my lights seem to be dimming a lot lately. I currently have a 200amp alternator with 3 deka intimadator batteries. This powers my saz3000d at 1ohm. I thought that I might have a loose connection or my alternator was failing. I started testing voltage and this is where I'm confused. With the bass at nearly full tilt with the lights dimming bad my voltage stays at a steady 13.98 volts. With nothing on it's charges at 14.2. So, my question is how or why is my lights dim…

I just got a Denon DCT A100 and it didn't come with a manual or anything. I went to put it in and i saw that it has a few extra wires that I don't know what to do with. They are labeled as light, acc, aux in, and p. ant. What do these need to be connected to? Also, will I be able to use the same dash kit that I used with my old Pioneer HU?

Well, my friend has recently been having issues with his electrical system. He currently has a red top and yellow top in the back. He reads around 14 volts up front but his battery in the rear (not isolated) reads at 12.5 volts?! The battery in the front and rear both read at 12.5 with car off. Any clue what could be causing this issue?

I currently have a Pioneer DEH-7800MP and am very happy with it except for the fact that I would like a DVD player/flip screen. I'm trying to find something with 3 preouts, some crossover abilities, and fairly inexpensive. The head unit has to be single din and a flip screen because my dash would have be cut for a full din. The Clarion looks decent but I can't find much info on it other than really general stuff. Ebay, Crutchfield, and other online sites have it for around $350 shipped and that's the price range I'm looking for. I'm not sure if I will be happy with less crossover abilities but not sure if I really need them either. My current 4 channel is a JL 300/4 runni…

I was looking at the Alpine PDX 2.150 to run the Clarus 61-2 comps. I talked with Scott and he says that the PDX is not a really good SQ amp. He did mention the new JL HD amps. I'm looking for a amp like these that are small, don't get hot because it will be located in the cargo compartment in my Trailblazer.

Here's the deal, in my previous few installs, I had been using a simple 12$ RCA bass control knob. You run RCA's from the HU to the knob, then from the knob back to the amplifier controlling the input level from the head unit to the amp. Simple. Well I recently got a new amp, which came with a Remote bass control knob. I hooked this knob up to the amp via the telephone jack looking remote cable, while still running my RCA's through the original knob. I've been keeping the RCA knob at 100% and using the remote to control the levels.. My question is, is this a bad idea for any reason at all? Perhaps output voltage from the RCA's or something of that nature? Also, what are t…
