im looking for a head unit for my gfs explorer she is wanting a dvd havnt decided if its gonna be double din or flip out single din i have found the alpine ktp445 which it was told was like a mini amp that i could use for my components maybe and was wondering if i could just match the the wires by colors from that to whatever headunit i wanted weather it be pioneer kenwood etc etc. and i was wanting to get some of ur guys input on different headunits and as to why u like them. the only thing we are looking for is if it plays dvds and an ipod can hook up too. price range isnt a big deal right now but wanted it under 800 if we can and be able to change songs on the screen …

Planning on running a sundown 3k and another amp for mids/highs I'm gonna buy a 160amp alternator for my little '97 tercel (its the highest output alt they make for it) I guess I will run a deka under the hood? Big 3 upgrade Will I need another deka to put in the back? And how would I go about wiring those 2 amps to 2 different batteries?

I normally get my music from youtube. With my new receiver i want to use videos instead of just music. I have tried every file format i can find and none will play in my pioneer. Any suggestions?

Okay I just put it in my new 5000 and I have two amps... Sundown SAE-1000D and SAX-100.4. Well I have two sets of RCA cables going to the 100.4, one set going from the front preouts on the 5000 to channels 1 and 2, and the other set is going from the rear preouts on the 5000 to channels 3 and 4. For some reason I'm not getting any music out of the rears. I can hear a very faint "tv snow-screen" type of sound coming out when I have my ear up to one of the speakers, but that's it. Anyone know what's going on?

Hello everyone. There have been numerous times where my voltage drops to 11.7. I usually have a constant 12.8, or 12.9 (never 13 ) On idle with music a little bit up (volume knob at around 20 out of 30) and/or other electronics in car I'm around 12.5 but when I'm at idle and my music is up it can get to 11.7-11.8 I have a 96 civic. Stock alt is 70amps. I have a kinetik 800 under hood and big three done with 1/0 kicker wires. Those are currently the only electrical upgrades I have. Can someone please help me with my radio. I put my sundown amp to it, and my radio started to fry!! now theirs no output from my speaker wires from behind radio. (I disconnected amp, and rewired back regular). I tested all wires, and it seems that one speaker output does in fact give a little static. Im guessing I fired the outputs in the radio. Can anyone help me fix this problemo

Ok, so I just received and hooked up my saz3000d and everything went smooth. It is a very powerful amp. However, I am having one issue. While the truck is NOT running and my head unit is paused, or the av source is off (it is a avic-n4 nav) so the hu itself is still on, and so is the amp. There is a low humming sound coming from my subs. Something else I notice is when I touch the amp it either goes completely away or almost does. Can anyone shed any light on this for me please. More info you may want: I have quality rca jacks no where close to any other wires. I relocated my ground with no change. I have a memphis eq.

So, not too long ago, a friend that seems like he knows a decent amount about car audio set the gain and bass boost on my amp. My amp is a 1000w mono block, and it was pushing a 15" spl sub rated at 1400rms. It sounded really good, but all of the sudden, it blew a single voice coil. Obviously, I was upset. I got a replacement for the sub, the same one, but I just don't want to blow it again. Can anyone help with tuning the amp by gain? And I've also heard to NEVER touch the bass boost. Is that true? Never ran active in my life so I have some questions Amp is a SAX-100.4 Comps are the Cresendo CCX65. They are rated at 100 rms a side. Doing this passive is easy, but I am wondering how to split the power levels between the mids and the high's. 50/50? 75/25? Or even 99/1? (heard the tweeters are kinda bright lol) When setting gains if I want say 75 watts on the rear channels I'd play 1000hz test tone. Hook the dmm to 1 rear channel and turn the gain till the dmm reads 17.32 volts correct? So that should be 75 watts per channel. ( 4 ohm load ) I plan on crossing the mids and highs at 3000hz, so should I still use the 1000hz test for setting the gains on the highs respect…

I have it wired but it doesn't turn off when I turn the car off because its directly hooked up to the battery. I'm thinking I can splice into my remote turn on for the amp but I won't get a voltage reading from that will i? I need a way to get the best voltage reading possible and for the meter to shut off when the car is turned off... helpppppppppppppppppppp

ok heres the thing im putting in a center console with a tape player in my s-10. i removed the tape player so i can put my bass knob and a toggle switch where it should be. im gonna have plexiglass fill the hole and i wanna put a green led behind it and wire it to the hvac or anywhere in there so it comes on when the lights are on can anyone help me with this on any part. how to put the led back there so it lights the plexiglass and wire it so it comes on with the lights. its a 2002 s-10 xtreme,

I currently have a jvc HU and it only has one rca. i have both rca cables wired to my 2 channel amp to my current subs, I want to install a second amp for my front door speakers. I just ordered new subs and a amp from IA. So it will be two death row's running on a 20.1 and a power acoustik 2 channel amp for my doors. So how would I do this or do I need a new head unit?

I'm asking for help on choosing an HU because i'm torn between these two. I'm not to crazy about all the setting so i didn't go the 880 way. Pioneer i know about the micro fuse problem but that can be avoided by grounding it properly. Alpine don't know much about it. does any one have experience with sat radio and i-pod on these two? cuz im gonna be goin with a sat radio they seem like nice additions. thank you dan

i have a kenwood h.u. that ive had for about 2 years not sure the model name(can get if needed) but it has the 2 preouts in back and usb and aux in the front. I was playing my ipod yesterday and all of a sudden it just stopped , so i unplugged it and tried it again and all it says is reading . i have tried both my ipods and that is not the problem, the aux works fine . any suggestions on how or what i can do to fix it?

Ok so I installed my Stinger voltmeter last week and tuned it or whatever with my multimeter and it works perfect,.. but now that I can watch my voltage.. it is weird. Sometimes when I am driving it goes below 12v.. this is even if my head-unit is off, no windsheild wipers, no headlights no ac.. nothing on just driving and it randomly went to like 11.6 even.. I have figured out my "normal" voltage when driving is usually 12.5-12.7v... like that's what it stays at most of the time.. but when im driving I notice it is randomly at like 11.9 then later its like 11.6 and its for like 5-10 mins sometimes and then sometimes it goes back to like 12.2 or 12.5 and just fluctuates a…

I just got my brand new JVC KD-AVX77 in today. Got all the supplies needed and hooked it all up properly. *soldering and heat shrink. The unit itself works fine, but no sound at all! No sound is being projecting through the speakers. I put in my stock headunit and it works fine. Anyone know what the issue is? I matched up all the connections. I called JVC and someone told me to connect all the reds and yellows and connect them together............can someone help? I need this done today! Thanks

Hey guys, I bought a jeep wrangler and the previous owner added in a new HU but decided to be cheap and hack the wires together rather than buy a harness. Every time I shut the jeep off, the radio shuts off, then deletes all the pre sets. I bought a new HU, hooked the wires up, and the same thing happens. Shut off the jeep, bam the HU resets and goes through the initial set stage. What is causing this? Bad ground? I'm stumped.

so we got everything put in, and long story short, the subs just make a popping sound about every second...kinda funny Ive never heard it before. we wired up one sub to the mid amp and it beats for only 400 watts. so is my amp shot? power supply....? this would be the second time Ive got shafted on an orion 2500d, and I'm about to give up.

Here's some background: -I drive a 2006 Nissan Sentra. -I have a Fi BL 12 powered by a SAE 1200d in the trunk. Sounds awesome... ----My car has the "premium" sound system installed from stock . This means that a small Rockford Fosgate amp in the trunk is powering the front speakers. It also means that the signal for everything but the sub is being double-amped. Looking at buying one of these,but cant find any user reviews anywhere. Does anyone run hertz amps? This thing supposedly makes 2k at 2 ohm! Seems pretty badass!

So who is running what.........how do you like it compared to past head units? I am currently running a Panasonic Q 903...... and it is by far the best HU I have ever had. I had 4 Kenwoods prior to this one incuding a 715X....and this panasonic just blows it outta the water! :ph34r:
