I have an 86 crown vic with a kicker 300 watt amp powering an IA 187 15. When i have the volume or bass up i get some very noticable dimming from my interior and exterior lights. I think the stock alternator is only a sixty five amp. What i want to know is will this up grade help my dimming, and what exactly is it. I know its replacing wires with larger wire, but what wires should be replaced and how big should i go. I tried using the search feature but i guess its idiot proof.

I finally got my system bought and all put together today!! 2 2 0hm 12 inch L7s Kicker zx 1500 streetwires powerstream 0/1 300A anl fuse optima redtop so the problem is... i turn my truck on, system turns on fine, as i turn the bass up, it shuts off, i turn it down, it gradually comes back on after a few seconds. And does the same thing each time. i grounded it to the seatpost bolt ( which i found out briefly agok, IS NOT ATTACHED TO THE FRAME) i Wired the subs down to 1 ohm each, equalling a 2 ohm load, but the weird thing is, is that the12volt.com said to wire it one way (for 2 ohm load) and kicker said to wire another way?????? so i went with this way- as oppossed to …

i got 2 RE HC 12s, i have em in a 6 cubed box tuned to 31 hz, wit a mtx 1501d powerin both. I think i hooked them up wrong or something, Cuz my rearview mirror dont even vibrate. and my friend can do that wit 500 watts. i used the wiring wizard at rockford fosgates site running it on 1/0 gauge wire http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/rftech/wiri...x=21&image.y=13. personally, i believe that i should have hooked each speaker to a different speaker output on my amp. Ok I just got my hifonics brutus 1600 mono amp, and I have a 13w7 (my sig). Its wired in series right now for a 3ohm load. Can I wire to .75 with this amp? Should I just push it at 3ohms? Using as a daily driver so I dont go too hard on it. Opinions? How much ouput would I get out of this?

(System: Orion Cobalt 3500.1 w/ Soundqubed HDS 15" 1200RMS Sub & Stinger 80Amp isolator) Hey y'all, I ain't been on for bit cuz 99% of my system build/install's done, just few small tweaks, but bout to be all finished after installing 2nd batt. & Isolator to hopefully help some dimming & other small electrical anomalies...but, I found myself unfortunately participating in a YouTube comment section debate & began to 2nd guess my choice of isolator size. A YouTuber said his 40Amp isolator did great w/his 2000W amp set up, when a "keyboard cowboy"/YouTube troll stated, "this is impossible cuz watts come from volts x amps & 12x40 is 480 not 2000" I al…

I am working on a new system for my 350Z and was considering running active. I've never ran active before and have been reading around and have a decent idea of what to do, but I am stuck at what to use for processing. I have a double din sat nav puoneer hu and it doesn't have the ability to run acrive and I've noticed the MiniDSP and it's right in my price range. I've decided with the Mach 5 MLI 65's, I still need to measure for the tweeters, and for the amp I'm going to get the JL 300/4. Does this setup seem fine to run with the MiniDSP? Is it pretty complicated to set the MiniDSP through the computer? Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Hey everyone, I was at the USACI/Second Skin show this last weekend, and I won a couple SSA subs, the 12'' DCONs. Anywho, I wanted some input from you guys as to what I should use to power it. A guy I know that works for Diamond Audio suggested this: Diamond Audio D3 600.1 Someone else said that amp isn't going to push enough power. So, what do you guys think. Any suggestions?

so damping factor as i understand it is the ability to control the sub once it starts playing something, to keep its movement in check. i see numbers all over the board between amp manufactures so I'm lead to believe its kinda like contrast ratios on TV's where there isn't an industry standard to measure by, is that correct? at my work training i have been told that you want at least 500 damping factory to be effective an controlling any speaker over 10" in size but this dosent make sense to me and given its coming from a rep of a company that lists all their amps around 500 damping... well... can anyone lay this out a bit simpler or provide some "trusted" literatur…

i just heard something weird from a tech at Hifonics. the reason i am not getting sound is because i have "stereo input RCAs" or something of that nature not "mono" ones... so now i have to buy a splitter that will connect to one of my old RCA cables that will be split in to two for the two inputs on the amp... if that makes any sense.... i find this weird because on my old RF amp it has matching colors for each of my old RCA cables which made it so i didnt need to buy a splitter... is this normal? i thought it would be straight forward red to white but i guessed wrong...or so i hope!

I have a Pioneer Premier DEH-P800PRS High Fidelity head unit. I was thinking about getting a processor. Since I have never owned any type of sound processor. my question is. Am I going to put this thing in line with my amps and make 19000db on the mic or will that 300$ investment barely be noticed?? My deck already has t/a, 16 band eq, 3 way active set up, I can adjust each individual speaker for gain and eq, so what will a processor do for me. is it really worth the money?

ive had a saz3000 since summer 08, and this next summer im lookin do double the power in my car, i need help deciding on an amp though. I heard about sundown and stetsom at the same time last summer when i asked around in a different place, and decided on sundown. now i need even more power, at 2 ohms. my choices so far are either to get another saz3000 and strap 2 together, or get a stetsom 6k2d. only problem with stetsom now is they only have the 6k2d in brazil right now. the US supplier said they might have some after april though. any advice on which to get.

  22. Hey guys Im looking for a single din flip out for my car. Reason why I am choosing a flip out is because I have limited space, and still want my A/C. I could put in a double din below it but I dont want to do that. I am looking for a NAVI/GPS h/u with basic features, cd/dvd. I don't want to spend a fortune on it. My price limit is about $700. So far after some research, I am looking at a Pionner AVIC-n4 or n5. Anyone have any input on whats a good h/u? Brands? Thanks!

ok i just got a alpine cda9855, and the preouts say 4 volts. i am going to be using a us amps ax1000de and a us amps merlin md41, and the input gain on the ax1000de is 150mV to 3 volts. and the md41 i dont have the manual on. so my question is. will a 4 volt preout work with this amp, and if anybody knows if it will work with the merlin as well. also what exactly will the difference be between 2 volt preouts and 4 volt preouts. becuase im pretty sure 4 volt is better. thanks

I purchased about 15ft of Kicker Hyperflex 0 gauge to do the BIG 3 and the wire was MUCH bigger than expected. I had never dealt with 0 gague wire up until this point. I attempted the install with the wire but had difficulty due to its large size a tightness of my engine bay in addition to the awkward location of my alternator ('08 Altima 3.5SE). So I was just curious to know if using 4 gauge or 2 gauge wire would be sufficient since it will still be at least twice the size of stock? It will be 100% OFC, none of that aluminum clad stuff. Background info on my system is a Sundown SAE-1000D powering a 12" Havoc and a 4-channel Kenwood eXcelon powering my Ininity Kappa c…
