Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical

Does anybody have any experience with them? Do they do rated power? I have heard rumors, but no proof, about the earlier models not making rated power. How reliable and durable are they? I have never used Hifonics so I am a little curious, I am thinking about getting 2 of them.

Hooking up a second battery is something I've never done. Do I run a wire from the starter battery to the secondary battery. Or do i run a wire from my alternator to the secondary battery. What kind of fuse do I use? More than 1 on each end? Thanks

i was playing around with my headunit(pioneer 860mp) and switched some things that made it hit the hardest of ever!!! but i took my magnum out and looked at the coil and it looked brand new un harmed!!!(even with me turning the gain a little higher than the head units voltage) i have a bx1500d i think that i want to step up to a bx1800d or an audiobahn 1800dt will i notice it? audiobahn vs hifonics amp wise or is tunsumi a good amp?

I have been researching the Diamond amps. Should I go with the new D6 line or the discontinued D7's?

Okay, So here in a few days Im ordering two subs.... Either the Maw-15's or the Eclipse SW7200. Both of which are rated 500w Rms. I got a 9885 a week ago and was installing today. It's going into a 86 Mercedes so I connected everything temporarily to make sure the wiring was correct. After setting it up and running it for about 10 minuets the rear heat sink was to hot to touch. Normal? If not what might be causing this or do I need to return to BB?

Hey guys, i was thinking about getting a Powermaster D1200 for my system... As of right now... i have a RF p5002 going to a 12" w3. When i have everything cranked up i notice my lights dimming a little bit... Yes i have factory wiring... but also i have a peice of junk battery (not sure exactly what it is but it was the cheapest thing i could find when i bought the car) although the car does have a 110amp alt. (i will be replacing the battery i have right now) My question is this... Will that help out my dimming situation with such a small amount of power being taken from the p5002. What can happen if to many things are hooked to one remote wire? . . . Every once and a while my amps will shut off like there protecting and sometimes the cd player will shut off but volts will be in the low 13s . Could this happen from alot of things hooked to one remote? . I have both sub amps. My 4 chan amp. An eq and both volt meters all from one remote

What kind of Parametric EQ do you guy's recommend? I have a clarion deck, it only has 2 volt pre-outs but its loaded with options such as you can rip someones cd directly on the deck, SD card mp3s, Ipod etc etc. Anyway it only has Bass and Treble for EQ therefore I want to either get a Parametric EQ or maybe one of those high speed 30 band eq's with the clipping light on each band, What kind do you guys recommend? money is a concern and its gotta be black Also where should the eq on my deck be set at when i get one 0 for bass and treble or -6 for bass and treble? I would also like it to be a min of 7 bands

I just aquired a DieHard platinum group 35 battery. I also have a kinetic hc600. Would they be safe to run in parallel together?

I current have a stock battery up front, and a batcap 2000 in the back near the amps. my question is, would there be any problems mixing battery brands? was looking at a kinetik 1400 to put up front.. would it make a difference? I would assume not considering the stock battery i have up front (wet cell) runs fine with the batcap in the back minus the voltage drops. I need to figure out a way to stabilize these voltage drops. Well people I am debating to whether to keep my Arc Audio amps installed or take my Zapco DC amps out of the closet and swap the Arc Audio for the Zapco DC. If you were doing the SQ build which one would you do? Thank you Ebrahim

I let it sit for a bit and I guess from what I read online that if it gets a little dust on or in it. The cd player doesn't eject cds. There is a disk in there that plays fine. It can't eject it though. How would I fix this?

Has anyone on here ever used a computer as an audio processor? I want to have a rockford 3 sixty style audio processor in my truck and was thinking that i have spare computers and i have heard of people putting imacs in there cars in place of decks so that got me thinking into what expansion cards/audio programs are out there for such purposes? anyone have any thoughts?

alright so theres a problem that bothers the hell out of me I want an amp I am stuck between the sundown saz-1500d and the audioque aq2200d. the audioque does 2200 at 14.4v Im aware that that it would be almost impossible for me to keep that voltage .SO my main question is which one to get does anyone know what the audioque will put out at like 12.5 to 13 volts thanks for the help guys.

I'm getting my fully loaded Fi BTL N2 18'' soon. I'm still not sure what amp to get without overpowering or under powering the BTL. Do you think 1 Rockford t2500bdcp would be too much for it (it put out 2500watts at 1ohm and 2 ohm)?? Or also im thinking about getting 2 rockford T1000bdcp's (which puts out 1000watts at 1ohm or 2ohm) and hooking up one amp on each coil on the BTL. Let me know what you guys think Thank you

I will be running a memphis 16-2000d on a old style 18" btl. I also will be running a 400 watt kicker amp for 2 CDT component systems. I have a 200 amp alternator and i just ran into a deal for two D34 red top optima batteries. Will one red top in the front and one in the back be enough to support my system? All will be going in a 1996 gmc suburban. I know yellow tops or kinetiks will probably be better, if the red tops wont be good enough anybody know were i can get a deal on something better?

If I'm trying to do a 2 way front stage. With a 3 way crossover that has the hpf 's I need for the Mids and tweeters how would I cut them off where they need to be if I have no controls on the amp for them? Subs are from 25-60. So was going to cross the Mids around 60. And tweeters around 4-5 k ......
