So, I had the Kenwood performance series 1800 amp. Almost 5 years and it finally went. So, I am in the market for a new amp. I was looking at the ct sounds at1400.1D. Seen Steve Meade bench test it. It seems impressive. But, keep getting told to don't waste my money. That it's not quality. So, I'm back to looking. I have a budget of $400. I'm not looking at skar or soundstream tarantula amps. Would like 1000+rms at 2 ohms. What would be recommended by you guys? I always stuck with what has worked. Which I always had kicker and Rockford fosgate. I currently have a Hifonics BRE1700.1d, I have done the Big 3 to my car which is a 2010 Malibu. My voltage drops crazy fast from 14.6 to 11.6 when certain songs are playing. What I was wondering is if an XS power D1200 would be sufficient enough to use as my battery under the hood? Or should I got for the XS power D2400? I don't want to get a H/O alternator or a second battery for the trunk. Thank you

I'm running two 1200w amps in my Ram1500 to power two 12s and a front stage. I was having power issues so I swapped out my stock battery for an xs power D6500 (biggest I could fit), upgraded the alt to a singer 270amp, upgraded all wiring to 0ga, and put in a big 3 kit. That being said, on full tilt every so often I'll lose my components as the battery can't keep up when it slams for a few minutes. I'm building a bigger box for the 12s I've got, so while I'm at it I'm going to have my builder make room for an additional battery in the cab (it's a quad cab, so not a huge amount of space back there). So looking for some info about amplifier and efficiency. I have a xcon dual 1ohm 10" so i can run at either .5ohm or 2ohm What i would like to know is 1500w @ .5ohm or 1500w @ 2ohm the 2ohm amplifier would be drawing more power to make its wattage because of the higher resistance correct ?

Im gonna run 2 d1 Dss Ethos on one of these @ 1ohm. How many batteries am I looking at needing for it? Im replacing my alt with a 240a. I currently only have a 55ah agm under my hood. Buddy of mine told me to run 4-5 group 31s for it and a 240a alt. Whats the minumum amount of batteries to make it happy?

What would be the most efficient way to reach 15k rms? Options are 2 Crossfire 8ks, 2 Ampere Audio 7.5s, or 2 Ampere Audio 8.0s VS 6 Scv 3ks, 6 Skar 2500s, or 6 American Bass 175.1 VFLs I will be powering 12 15s so I am looking to get around 13 to 15k rms. Cost wise 2 amps would be cheaper.

i have my Viper 2500.1D on 13' of 1/0 (OFC) power wire and 2' of ground (CCA). I have a 2500W inverter that I am going to install and need to run more wires for. I have a group 49AGM directly under the truck where the amps are. I have some pure copper 2/0ga wiring that im going to use for power and ground. the power inverter and the viper both have dual 4ga inputs for both power and ground instead of single 0ga. what connectors would you recommend for the dual 4 to 2/0 connections? would it be preferred to run the current 0ga to the power inverter and then run new 2/0ga to the battery under the truck? so as im typing this im thinking: it would be best to just use a…

Hi Im trying to replace my factory battery with an XS Power one. The one and only battery (according to the XS website) I can upgrade to is the D4800. However, I contacted them to verify this and they told me it would be recommended to make some measurements just to verify this. I went ahead and made some approximate measurements (since I did not want to deal with removing all this wires at 11pm) The measurements I got were the following: Height: ~8" Length: ~12" Width: ~71/2 These seem to match the dimensions from the D4800. I'm at home, sick as a dog, feeling too shitty to really do anything or go anywhere, so I'm drawing out plans fot my next system. my question is, with a 370a Alt, XS d3400 up front and a D7500 in the rear, what is the maximum amount of power you could comfortably run, RMS. I had originally planned on buying a Q2200.1D to power my Ethos. After reading a thread of clamp test numbers and seeing it puts out less that 1.6k after box rise and voltage drop I'm not so sure any more. I've been looking through ads on a local audio FB page and found a SKAR 2500 for less than I'd pay new for the SQ. I know SKAR isn't well liked because of the owner, but I'm not putting money in his pocket. Just looking for the best bang for the buck. Whatever amp I decide on, what should I look for/check? I've always been leery of buying used, but I could stand to save half the cost of a good amp.

First off I decided to buy the IA 6.4 from Ohjay to power the SLS 8's in my Jimmy when I finally get to installing them. Over the last month I've been prepping my car to power the Ethos I have on order. So far I've replaced the front battery with an Optima Yellow Top Group 34/78, done the Big 3 in 1/0 ofc, installed a 220 amp HO alt and made a positive and negative run of 1/0 to the rear (positive fused within 18 inches of post with 250 amp anl fuses). For now the rear battery is not installed. I have the negative taped off and the positive run stops at the rear fuse holder. I have a mechman 240a alternator with a xs power d5100 upfront everything wired up and running smooth. Now when installing my rear battery (another d5100) should I run both power and ground wires to the back battery or just the charge wire and ground in the trunk? Thank you in advance.

okay, just had a chance to clamp my ct sounds 4000.1. Not impressed and wondering if anyone has any suggestions on what i could be doing wrong.
