How many ampere's should 1/0 be fused to? im thinking 200a just to be safe because if my stock charging system exceeds that something is wrong.

hi guys, i know alot has been ask about this 2 HU's, more often discussed on, "it looks fugly", "it has better tuning capabilities", "it has this pico fuse prob" and many more... frankly now i know i cant get the best HU i want due to cost so i have to get the best i can do with my current budget... So I hooked back up my amplifier today and when I turned the headunit on and played some music I realized that no bass was coming from my subwoofer and my amp was in protect mode. I also noticed that my lights would flicker and dim and why voltage dropped to like 12 volts. Any suggestions to what the problem may be?

Im running a crescendo 3500bc at .5ohm looking to make shure im getting the most power with the least resistance, trying to invest in dual 1/0gauge inputs but unsure which one's will fit. Alright so I am wondering which amp would be better for my setup. The SAZ 1000 or SAE 1200 hooked up to a BL 15 wired at 1 ohm? I know the SAZ is more of a performance amp and the SAE is more commercial I guess. But which one would power the BL better and not cause me to worry about blowing my sub or frying my amp?

I have a Mustang which equals no trunk. I have 2 Audiofonic 12s in a ported box in my backseat. They are rated at 1200W max but we all know thats a lie. I am looking for a mono amp to power these until I find a 15 that will fit in the trunk. I have looked at kenwood KAC-X1R, hifonics 1608d, and a few others. My budget it 300 max. what is the pre amp voltage in deck do? what would be the difference between getting a 4 volt pre amp deck and a 5 volt pre amp?

Can using a bass knob cause damage? If so, to what extent. Should I go ahead & set my gains to what my bass knob would normally be? And finally, what exactly does the bass knob effect? Does it stay within the preset gains? I like being able to turn it down with just that little knob, or turn it up when I want to blare it. I was thinking of setting it all the way up, then the gain to where it gets the right AC Voltage, would it be fine?

Anyone have any idea what could be causing this?

Ok guys I'm looking for some advice towards the two topics as stated in the title. I'm running a sundown Sae-1200d and an FI bl 18". Currently stock alt , stock batt, all 1/0 ga wire and batt neg to chassis ground in 1/0. I'm initially looking to put a new battery up front or (possibly in the back) but the new batt would be running of the stock alt for while whether it be in the trunk with the stock batt up front or the new batt up front solo. I just purchased two eclipsee 88120 subs in a dual chambered custom box in which each chamber is tuned to 34 hz. The subs are dual 4 ohm, so they can be wired down to a 1 ohm load together. But, since the box is dual chambered, I would have to remove the ports and drill through the divider, which I would rather not do, to achieve this 1 ohm load. If I were to wire each sub down to 2 ohms at its own speaker terminal, filling both terminals, what would be the end impedance for both drivers?

My head unit was fine yesterday morning, but yesterday afternoon it statrting going crazy. I get in the car and it has reset itself to factory settings. The clock was wrong, it was in demo mode, and my buttons under the touch screen were unresponsive. The open and power buttons worked but the unit would turn itself back on after I turned it off. The touch screen still works for all the functions, but it is restarting with factory settings everytime the key is turned off. Wiring is fine and wouldn't account for the loss of function to the buttons

My pioneer HU died the other day when I hit a pot hole and now I need to replace it with somthing better. I've been looking at the Nakamichi CD-300,400,and 500 and also the pioneer premier 800 and 880. I know the nak's don't have nearly the features of the pioneer, but I'd kinda like to try somthing different, and I like the simplicity. Do any of you have opinions or suggestions? I'd like to get the best sound quality out of my system without spending much. i have two batteries and i have a fosgate 1500x1 i was wondering that if i ran just the two batteries would i be fine for a couple of months?

ok so my stock harness is fudgeed....how do i know? i hooked up the stock deck.. and i attached a HONDA wiring harness to it and wired up my Eclipse, still no good.. so i decided to wire up the HU directly.. only problem now is i need a direct illumination wire, help plz?

if im wrong feel free to help in anyway. i assume i would need to upgrade my alternator, just a givin. then add about 3-4 batteries that output that voltage while using a device that seperates the batteries in the back from the one under the hood, but also charges the batteries in the rear. of course whole car can not be ran anything more than 14 volts on a 12 volt system(14.4 was the most i seen but i could be wrong) so the battery under the hood would be different than the one's in the rear. and could anyone fill me in about the missing link module, i know its not good to charge the batteries on 15.4 volts but i think it has a button to switch between from 15.4 to 14.4,…

I have been looking at my electrical and there is ll kinds of run offs from the positive wire from battery. There are 2 that run from positive into the fuse box, and at least 2 more that split off into I haven't found where yet. Seem like a lot. My question is would it be OK to keep those running to where they are going and still run 0 gauge from Alt to battery using a bus bar or similar? Also with the ground question there are several split offs from the ground battery terminal to the chasey, should just through those on top of my 0 gaug…
