does anyone have a solution to getting speaker wire through the door "boot" or what ever it's called? i tried for hours and i cant even get it half of the way through!!

Anyone have any first hand experience with upgrading a stock amp/signal processor in a MK5 Jetta to the Dynaudio one out of the Passat or Toureg? Is it worth the $600-$800 for the part? Ryan

I have 2 FI BL 12's hooked up to a Hifonics 2500, running at 1ohm. They seem to max out with my stock electrical (granted i have the big 3 and 2 yellowtops in the back) Am i getting the full power out of the amp? I hooked the subs to my buddies car who is running full electrical and 3500 rms and it was insanely louder. What can i do to get more towards his level or atleast max out my amp to give the full 2500 rms to these subs...

So, I'm currently in the process of setting my gains for my 4 channel amp and mono amp. I've been researching on how to properly set your gains using a digital multimeter, and it seems like every forum and website tells you a different way to do it. The SSA forum stood out to me and made the most sense about gain setting, but it still left me with a few questions. My first question is should i set my gains for the 4 channel amp first or the mono, or does it even matter? When i set my gains for the 4 channel amp i will be using a 0 dB 1000Hz test tone, but what i'm not sure of is what settings should i use for my head unit? A lot of people say to set everything to 0. Need some help with my alt. I have an ohio gen 300+ amp alt and it was bought for my old caravan and had a plug harness so it was able to plug into the vehicle plug . . Now I got a 93 cherokee and the alt will fit but on the jeeps stock alt instead of a plug there is 2 wires next to each other bolted to the alt rather than a 2 pin plug. . then a ground and power for the alt. . I know the 2 wires on the harness on my high output should connect to the 2 wires that are on the jeep that bolt to the stock alt but how do I find out which one connects to which?. . Let me know if that doesn't make any since and ill try to explain it better lol

I just purchased two eclipsee 88120 subs in a dual chambered custom box in which each chamber is tuned to 34 hz. The subs are dual 4 ohm, so they can be wired down to a 1 ohm load together. But, since the box is dual chambered, I would have to remove the ports and drill through the divider, which I would rather not do, to achieve this 1 ohm load. If I were to wire each sub down to 2 ohms at its own speaker terminal, filling both terminals, what would be the end impedance for both drivers?

when you tune ur amp, do you have the bass level on the headunit at 0, or at the lowest it could be, i have it at -6, but was going to re-tune using it at 0 what u guys think thanks -Irvin

Does anybody know where I could find a non-working US AMP :VL-400,USA-400,100HC-or does anybody know if the new amps use the same boards or boards that will fit in the old chassis? I have a USA-400 with a hole burnt in the board,but I want to use this old purple chassis since I have a matching USA_200.Any help is greatly appreciated.

I tried to ground my rca today because i have really bad engine noise, but it didnt work. I took speaker wire and touched it to the rca. (the outside metal part) then touched it to metal in my car, but the noise was still there. Am i doing it wrong? Could it be something else?

Hey ok i have a question about multliple runs of wire from a battery in front to batter in rear to amp. Would i just go from + on batery in front to + on battery in back, and - from battery in front to - in battery in back the + from battery in back to + in amp, and - on battery in back to - on amp. Then ground the neg at front. Heres a pic of what i mean (the boxs on the + wire are fuses) Also say i wanted to do two runs of 1/0 would i do 2 + and 2 negatives between the batterys and then just do 1 run of 1/0 to the amp? Ok so I'm planning on getting a SAZ-1000D amp and I just wanted to know if I'm going to need a new battery or new alternator. I think the alternator in the 2007 Jetta is a 140 amp alt. I did some calculations and I think that is more than enough but I don't know shit (the true :'( ). If I don't I was thinking about getting a XS 5200 ( I think that's the battery) And will I need to upgrade my big 3?

So I am off on my way to school when all of a sudden my car decides to play games with me...Ok so I let it go but then it kept doing it and over and over till it got a little serious. It started to reset the head unit by turning it off and then back on. My engine check light was blinking repeatedly. My ABS lights came on. And my power steering gave out but some how managed to come back. I called my brother up and he told me that I should clean all the ends of the wires and clean the terminals of the battery up front. Hey all.Im going to be getting a AudioQue 3500d.1 and I was wondering about the dual power/ground inputs on the amp.My main question is a major noob one.How do I hook the amp up with the dual inputs?Like do I need a distrobution block for both power and ground or do I just run both power/ground inputs to the power/ground inputs on my rear battery or what?My second question is about adding a 3rd battery.Ive been searching the forum and I think I have to just run + to + and then - to - on the rear batteries right?Do I need a fuse when connecting the + to the other + on the rear batteries?I have a 220amp power bastards alternator so im thinking between that and a 3rd battery…

I am going to use a memphis 16 PRD 1000.1 amp to power a Fi Q12, I really want this sytem to sound nice so how would this amp work? If there are any better for the same price range please let me know. thanks C memphis Prd 1000.1

Hello, I've been searching for a long time but what I found seems to be too light : not enough power when I burn it on a cd! Can you give some links, please? at least a 50 Hz test tone for the sub, and a 1000 Hz one for the speakers. BTW, do you all set the gains like that, or can you use some music instead ? Thanks

hey guys i just drove back from work (i usually take the train) i was listening to my music the whole way home with the volume on 21 for almost 2 hours by the time i got home my sub was cutting in and out and when i got home the lcd screen on the amp said "hot " "77.9" degrees Celsius ( i knew it was before i looked) i know that my gains are not high, is that normal cause of the long duration? my stereo is an alpine cdx 9884 i believe goes to 35 max volume and my amp is a alpine mrd -m1005. what do you think guys? thanks again Billy
