I have a 2002 honda civic si and I just installed a 200amp alt. The sys is charging at 14 volts. The batt light, on the dash, stays on. I have a batt under the hood and 2 in the back. Any ideas?

Just got my friend to pick up a audiopipe 1500 today, heard it is a decent budget amp. Notice it has no fuses, the guy tells me it needs external fuses. I understand what that means, but is there a distance from the amp these need to be? a certain amp rating they need to be? will the main fuse coming off the batt under the hood running to the amp be sufficient? just want to make sure i get this right before helping him install. thanks

Alright.. i ran into these things they call line drivers.. lol.. seem's pretty simple. rca's in then rca's out and bam.. higher voltage.. is it as straight forward as that? is there anything to watch out for? i see several brands including pheonix gold, rockford, hifonics and audiocontrol.. Do you guys use them? if so what are your thoughts? Just trying to get an idea of these things from all of you before i go out and buy one. cause so far its got my attention... thanks for any info you guys have.

I started this topic because I've seen some negative remarks around the internet about their products but not necessarily(sp) why. I personally own two Nine.1's and a Nine.4. I'm not trying to start anything in any way or any kind of fight or flaming, I just want to know why some people don't like them. I'm thinking of running new amps and I'm trying to decide if its worth it or keep what equipment i got. Personally I'm happy with them and thats what matters, but I just want to hear from other views. Mods- like i said I'm not trying to cause any problems just looking for the stereo community's thoughts. I'm sorry if this post is against any rule and please delete or lock …

Ok, I have been searching and reading yesterday and today. I went back as far as 2007 but I couldn't find any topics like this one that had any good answers. My car will have a Iraggi 180A alternator (biggest that fits my car), BIG 3 with 1/0, 1/0 run for positive and negative from the front to the back and I will be using one Hifonics XX Colossus II and one SS REF4.920, giving a output of about 3800W rms. This will be a daily system, but I will be going to DB drags and other social car stereo events so the car will be competing a little bit and demonstrating the car stereo with the engine off, probably charging with a Ctek 25A charger or using a other power supply. I kn…

  9. I was thinking about buying an mlx-100. I wanted to use it to take the subwoofer output on my 3sixty.2 and branch that signal into 4 outputs to power 4 of my saz1500s. (I know I could do this with y adapters as well). My question reguards sending the 4 output signals unbridged to the amps. In the video posted below they show you need to connect a and b, c and d but then stop. These are all positive polarity. Would I only be able to send identical outputs to 2 amplifiers this way? What is the deal with this? Please enlighten me. Also would it be a better idea just to get y adapters? I really don't know anything about the mlx-100 except for the fact that you could control …

Ive read several different things about this amplifier throughout this forum. Some people say its a good amp but only does its power at 2 Ohm.. i goto the actual website and it appears its stable at 1 ohm. let me cut to the chase. Friend needs a budget amp for his Fi Q 12" sub. Found a audiopipe 1500d on craigslist locally that is for sure in the budget. Guy says its hooked up so we can hear it work before purchasing. If this amp isnt 1 ohm stable then its pretty much worthless to us, since the fi Q is a dual 2 ohm sub and were planning on 1 ohm stable here. im going to attach a picture of the amp. If you guys know FOR SURE about these amp's please post, i appreciate it. …

I've seen on SSA before that you shouldn't mount an amp sideways because it will mess up how the heat dissipates. by sideways i mean one end of the amp facing the bottom of the vehicle, and the other facing the top. If it is true that this is a bad idea for overheating issues, why? and i need somewhat of a detailed answer; i'm arguing with an engineer and they don't accept "because the car audio professionals said so!!!" thanks and im asking because it would save a hell of a lot of space if i could mount it sideways

I have a guy that has a brand new in box Power Acoustik A1800DB amp, and he's wanting to trade it for my used Memphis 16-ST1000D. A 1800 watt for a 1000 watt.. I know PA isn't as quality of a brand as Memphis.. but it seems like a good amp. Any suggestions of whether or not I should follow through?

i just went out and purchased a multimeter so i could set the gains properly on my amp. i unhooked my subs, put on a 50hz test tone and turned my stereo up to 24/35. i put the multimeter plugs into the -/+ terminals to test voltage and all i got was 3 volts. I turned the amp up 3/4 of the way and it only gave me 9. any ideas as to what could be the problem?

I bought a P800PRs from a online store, but they managed to send me the old version P880PRS. And since I live in Norway it's a big hassle to send it back to the US. Except from the black frontplate on the newer model and the copper plated chassis, are there any other differences between those two models?

Do I fit the power and negative cables in and take my voltage meter to the speaker out lets? I cant remember I want to test it with the stock alt wire and ground and see if I can get more power from doing the Big 3. Im sure you will suggest to use it but I want to know how much a difference it made on my truck and post up the results. Mine is a 2500hd duramax so I know I have a higher amp Alt. I just saw a post from xspower and one of the questions answered was it's ability to be used as a starting battery. I want to pick up a shuriken to replace my starting battery and was just wonderin if anyone uses them as a starting batt or if they are able to be used as one. I've read they are similar to kinetiks and saw those being used as starting batts. thanks.

I'm about to order a 25ft. roll of 1/0 gauge wire to do the Big 3. I watched the video from Maxxsonics on it too see exactly what I needed to do, and it shows him pointing out 2 separate grounds that were stock on the vehicle before he added any wire. One from the battery to the chassis, and one from the engine block to chassis. When I opened the hood on my Altima I saw that there was only one wire coming off of the negative terminal on the battery, it grounded straight to the engine block. Is this a sufficient ground, or do I still need to find another bolt somewhere on the block to make a new connection to the chassis?

  23. I was told the only time I need to worry about getting a better grade RCA wire is if its for mids and highs. Is that true? Im about to order RCAs for my sundown 1200 and just want to make sure I dont get too cheap of an RCA if I need something better than basic

I've been reading and reading and I guess I haven't really seen it explained in a way that I understand 100% so I must ask. Let's say I have a dual 1 ohm sub, If I wire it in series to a pair of strapped amps each amp will be seeing a 1 ohm load right? When I wire it I simply sire in series to the 1st amp and just run the RCA to the slave amp?

well i was driving all of a sudden the bass stopped i looked back to see all 4 subs "sucked" in so i shut down the power. (switched) remote The amp stayed on with subs still sucked in so i ripped out the speaker leads and the subs released, i then disconnected all power after i let the amp cool down reconnected power and tested with a dmm. results show 0 ac voltage and so i tried dc and got -93 volts wtf! any thoughts as to whats going on as the protection hasn't even tripped yet the fan doesn't fully engage now either. and there is definitely power coming from speaker terminals as it arced when testing(high power).
