Say I have an amp that has 2 power and ground inputs. Say if I just use one with twice the size power wire is that ok? Or is there some important reason that they are split up to begin with? Fast advice is appreciated.

I'm getting high pitch hum (upper midrange freq) and a warble sound coming from the sub when everything is on. 1. Amp is a Zed Mini 2. front stage amp is a sundown 100.4 3. Sven LOC for the stock H/U The high pitch hiss comes on when the amps turn on. I don't get any distortion from the speaker run by the sundown. When I turn the music up, the sub still has the high pitch noise and a warble sound that kinda goes with the music. I've check the RCA and have used two different sets to make sure. I even connected another sub to the system and get the same horrible distortion. Is this an amp problem or is there something wrong with the electrical system trying to run this amp …

Alright so I had a nine.1 I bought used. Worked great for a couple months then all 4 fuses would blow on it. So I sent it to eD under warranty. Finally recieved one back after like 3 months of waiting. Installed the amp, worked for about 5-10 minutes then did the same thing. The amp was extremely hot to the touch also. eD wasn't much help so I decided to say fudge it and I purchased a used SAZ-1500D from Jacob which should be arriving Monday. I've been talking back and forth with Jacob about this problem and he said that there might be a short in my power wire. Theres only one spot where the rubber encasing is wore down a little bit but none of the wires i…

I bought a crescendo bc2000 originally for my pair of sa12s. I also bought one of those big ass 2 ch crescendo c1600.2's.. I want to use the big one and do far I got a pair of components lmao. Seems a little extreme for them.. What if I run the c1600 to the subs? Since its class AB will it have any audible difference vs the class D bc2000? Might be a stupid question but I've only ran class D Amps on subs.

  9. if on my battery i am running a 2 gauge wire to my alternator and a 2 gauge wire to my amps coming from the positive battery terminal post, is ok to wire one 0 gauge wire from the battery to the frame or does it have to be (2)-2 guage wires going from the battery's negative terminal post to frame. in the long run after running two batteries i will come up with close to 5 ground wires that needed to be grounded to the frame and i wanted to lighten the load if possible but if not its cool.

I saw a link that Ryan posted in the ihop for a Directed 1100d5 that does 75x4 at 4 ohms and 600x1 at 1 ohm on the sub channel. It doesn't say anything about bridging the amp, but I was wondering if the amp would work if I wired it to where the left side was on 2 channels of the amp and the right channel was on 2 channels of the amp. This would be kind of like bridging it, but running a wire in all 4 pieces. I think if I bridge it, it would put out too much power. Has anyone ever done this? It is sounding like it won't work or will be bad for the amp, but I am not sure.

I never thought that choosing a headunit would require so much time and energy. Once I pick one I start having 2nd thought because of reviews or various other reasons. I have owned Kenwood units in the past with pretty good luck. I went to my local Best Buy to check some options out in person. The Kenwood units appealed to me the most. They seemed much more user friendly witha nicer interface. Just my opinion though. I don't need every option available, but these things are important.... Amp output. 1-2 Cameras. Able to play DVDs or youtube for my daughter. 6.95in screen or bigger. Screen tilt/Dimming is helpful. Under $350/Doesn't have to be…

I have a Pioneer Premier DEH-P800PRS High Fidelity head unit. I was thinking about getting a processor. Since I have never owned any type of sound processor. my question is. Am I going to put this thing in line with my amps and make 19000db on the mic or will that 300$ investment barely be noticed?? My deck already has t/a, 16 band eq, 3 way active set up, I can adjust each individual speaker for gain and eq, so what will a processor do for me. is it really worth the money?

Should I keep my old amp (Rockford 800.2) pushing 200 watts X 2 RMS (800 X 1 bridged) or my brand new Hifonics 1000D. Hard decision. =\ Is the Hifonics 1000 X 1 RMS? Or 1000 max power? I think my Hifonics can run more stable at 1 ohm.

I posted this on another site but maybe I can get advice here, I have a 4ch rockford P400-4 set to 2ch and using two alpine 4ohm 6.5's. Everything had been working fine but lately say I am driving to work for about five minutes then I turn on radio you can feel the car kind of shudder a bit then after awhile of the radio playing the amp goes into thermal protect. The gains are under a quarter turn from zero and made sure the ground is good. Any ideas?

  19. Hello, I've been searching for a long time but what I found seems to be too light : not enough power when I burn it on a cd! Can you give some links, please? at least a 50 Hz test tone for the sub, and a 1000 Hz one for the speakers. BTW, do you all set the gains like that, or can you use some music instead ? Thanks

Im a noob here but have been around car audio most of my adult life, lookin for a good option to power two sundown e-15 d4 in my sons ride. Have looked into many brands( hifonics, audiopipe,mb quart,American bass). Needs to be close to $200 to stay in his budget, must be power friendly to run off of a yellow top, stock alt, big three done, and four gauge power and ground. I have owned or heard all the amps listed above except the American bass, so I need options and am open to all advise. Thanks

Well... I reciently bought a Pioneer DEH-P940MP. I was planning to run the front speakers acvive and the rears passive. However, I didnt see in the manual that you can do this. I NEED rear fill, burbs are huge inside, components up front arent going to be able to be heard way in the back. I do carry passengers. I had 2 ideas on how to accomplish this. Run a LOC off the H/U's rear speaker outputs to the amp for the back speakers. Thats if the signal is not seperate (trebel/midrange). I dont know if the internal amp even works in this mode. It cant be shut off so its definetly on. Or... Get 4 Y splitters. Use the output RCA's on the amp and " blend" the treble and mid range…
