  1. I can use my Deck (Kenwood KDC-MP338) manually and using the remote to change settings and stuff, but ever since i installed my amp (Mark Antony GS1000D) i can't use the remote because the remote makes it go into protect mode( it clicks). I can use all the controls manually but can't use any buttons on the remote (doesn't change anything on the deck). Any idea whats wrong?

Hey all, I have a question about routing power in the car for mobile video... I have 6 items that need to be powered on the roof: 3 15" flip-down monitors, 2 sun visor monitors, and a video signal booster. Each piece of equipment has #18 gauge power/ground leads and they are fused with very thin glass fuses, so I'm assuming they draw very little amperage (none of the equipment lists actual numbers and Google searches proved useless) so I'm assuming total load I'm looking at under 15 amps or so. I have some spare 9ga wire I could run from the battery up to the headliner for power (it might be overkill but the next smallest wire I have is 18ga and I'm trying to work with w…

Trying to decide on an amp for 2 RE audio SR10s. They're rated at about 350rms. Each will be going in a .88 ft^3 ported enclosure. Trying to stay under $350. Alpine pdx 1.600 Kicker zx750.1 Cadence DCA-1000 Haven't ordered subs yet so any wiring configuration is an options. And i'm open to any other options or suggestions.(except something directly available from the manufacturer. This is replacing stolen equipment so I'm dealing with AJRS, awesome company btw.) Thanks

  8. first off im a 16 year old kid with little experience. ive done a few installs before but not very many. i have a single bl 15 on a sundown sae-1200d. but anyways my friend has a 1998 dodoge dakota and i was attempting to put a brand new kenwood head unit in it. and when i was wiring the after market harness to the head unit harness there were some weird wires. theres two harnesses to wire, one has 3 of 4 speakers and the remote wire on it and the other has power, ignition, illumination, dimmer, right front negative, amplifier ground, and mute. there is no wire from after market harness for left front negative but the one that says amp ground is the same color (white and…

Hi, im sorta new to this stuff and i had several questions that i hoped can be answered. 1. Does an amp put out as much watts(rms) as they say they do? Does this also apply to cheaper amps? 2. When do i need to run a capicitor? 3. Can subs take more power than recommended by the manufacturer? 4. If i listen to mainly rock/metal what type of box should i use? I'd like it to be loud but also feel like some child is kicking the back of my seat. Any links would be helpful, thank you.

I am looking for a new 5 or 6 channel amp. I need flexible, decent crossovers to run active. Power isn't super critical. High quality is priority #1... Size #2 and Cost would be my lowest at #3. Any reccomendations?

  11. Ummm. I redid my big three. I was making a tutorial for YouTube.I added, didn't replace the original wires. In 1/0 i did alt positive to battery positive, battery negative to chassis, battery negative to engine block, engine block to chassis i guess its more of a big four. And battery is kinetik 800. And for a couple of days it was alright. But then I noticed it was having problems turning on, it would crank an extra 2 times or so. Now it doesn't start without me getting a battery charger. Voltage says 10.7 but once I charge it goes as high as 15.8 ? And then it starts up fine. I did some research, I'm still researching... Some forums in hondas, people say its the eld (…

  12. due to an exploded turbo i need to dig into my truck so id like to fix some wiring. i have some runs of 0ga that i would like ot not throw away but perhaps combine into one long run or do some light extension to them to route them better. how should i combine 2 sets of 0ga cable? my first thought is to but the ends together and solder them, then wrap with shrink or tape. secondly have any of you run wires in the frame rails and pulled them up into cab in back instead of running through the fire wall and under the carpet? what are your thoughts and recommendations on this method?

I went on crutchfield and read a FAQ for multi amp and it said this You'll need a relay on the turn-on lead to protect your receiver. A relay connected to the power antenna lead draws little current from the receiver, but supplies enough power to turn on all your amps simultaneously. Since I dont have a power antenna I assume I could connect it to the ignition, but why cant I just do like how I want and splice the remote wire to the other amps? Ive never heard of using a relay for this. AND does anyone know of a site where I can browse hi output alternators?

My dad got a used 05 Mustang back in the summer, and it came with a Eclipse CD4000 deck in it. I got him a pair of Alpine Type R Componant Speakers for Christmas. I was planning on installing it for him, but he insisted on haveing the car audio shop I got it from to install it (yeah, he don't trust me tearing apart his car). Anyway, I also had a Pioneer 2x60 Watts laying around to power the componants, and a Massive 1000 Watt amp and a 12" Adire Brahma. I took the Pioneer and Massive amp along to have the shop install those too and feed the wires for me, so I have the sub amp ready for the Brahma. So, yesterday, I stuck the Brahma into one of my old boxes (a sealed…

So its been awhile since i have made a topic on here. So, i moved houses the past week and when i was cleaning out the garage i found a brand new alt my dad bought for his lumina that didnt fit. Would it be worth making a dual alt bracket and putting two stock alts in my truck? or is that just a waste of time?. I mean i already have the alt, so that was free, and i figured to make a dual alt bracket it wouldn't be to hard considering i have access to my high school metal shop. so the question is would it be worth making that or should i just buy a new alt?
