I have done some searching around and have not found out what I'm looking for, I understand the calculation for volts on a DMM to set the gains properly. In my particular case, I have (2) Fi SSD's (800rms/each) and a Sundown SAE-1200vD2 (1200rms). Now what I have been seeing is everyone says to take the lesser of the two then do your calculations for proper volts on the DMM. So, would I use 1200 from the amp or 800 from (1) sub or 1600 for both subs?? Im guessing since my subs can handle 1600 combined, I would then use the 1200 from the amp, which would be 34.64v (dual 1 ohm subs and wired that way). Please clarify for me. So this may be a noob question but i need to learn car 08 grand prix gxp with mechman 270 2 xcon 12's in 4th order bandpass I can purchase two amps vibe blackbox bass 5 that put out (each amp) 1500rms @2ohms I can get both $750 total Or I can purchase one amp sundown 3500d that puts out 1750 rms @2ohms for $800 Would I benefit from getting the two amps and having one to each woofer or would the single amp be my best thing to do?

Ill be getting my 270a alternator in Wednesday and was wondering what size fuse to use for the wire between the alt. & batt. I'm assuming a 100a ANL will be insufficient when the alternator is running full tilt.

I just ordered 2 d3100s for the back of my suv. I have 2 runs of 1/0 running from the front battery (d6500) to the back. I am running 4 sundown 1500s, a sundown 50.4, and a sundown 125.2. What would be the best way to wire all of this? This is what I had in mind: Each of the d3100s would get its own run of 1/0 gauge directed from the front battery. I would run 2 of the 1500s to 1 d3100 and another 2 to the other d3100. Then I would hook up the 50.4 to 1 d3100 and the 125.2 to the other d3100. Does this sound like the best possible method?

So I’m in the process of upgrading my cars electrical system, I’ve just done the big 3 and would now like to move on to the alternator. One problem thou, i know nothing about them or what kind i would need. Any info on them would be greatly appreciated. I have two amplifiers one a Kicker ZX350.4 and the other a Hifonics Brutus BRZ2400.1D all together they = about 300 amps, idk if this info will help but here it is lol

Am not sure on this so correct me please if am wrong. I currently have a AQ2200 and was wanting to make sure am setting my gains correctly. I want to get as much clean power out of this amp as I can to really push my 15" IA DP. I spoke to the guy at AQ and he said that this amp is around 86% efficient. So just to be on the safe side lets just say its 85%. So 0.85 X 2200 gives us 1870 watts. Am running the amp at 1 ohm so would setting my gain to around 43.0 volts sound right. Oh yea, all my electrical have been upgraded (220 HO alt. extra batt, 2 runs of 0 gauge for the big 3.) Does Anyone know if this amp can run at 0.5 ohms, if so what type of power does it produce. I just finished my box for 4 8" sundowns. Its a big center console box for my single cab ranger. Its 2.4 cu. ft (after displacement) and is ported @ 34hz. I'll post pics up soon. BUt im gonna order the subs this week and am im looking for an amp to push them. What should i get as far as a amp/s?

I plan on ordering 4 ethos 15s for a 4th order blowthrough I was wondering if anyone had suggestions on what amp I should go with I like two 3500s but I don't think ssa has them in stock and isn't they dont when will they? And I like the ct sounds 7000 but I would rather something a little cheaper any suggestions will help

I would like to start using my phone with my deck as I have spotify and it works really well and I get unlimited music for $10 a month. I have been using an iPod Touch since the interface is so nice on the deck. It really is too bad there aren't any Android compatible DVD decks as I am not a fan of apple at all. So...what do you guys think is the best way to hookup my android phone to get the best possible sound quality? To be honest I will most likely stick with using my iPod, but eventually I would like to get away from that for future use.

How do you measure the actual output of an amp in watts? I remember my friend Aubrey telling me how, but cant find the info again. Im trying to figure out what my 601S Rockford Fosgate Amp puts out. It says 600 rms, and 1800 peak, which is strange for the peak to be so much higher, but anyways I've also heard that RF underrates their amps substantially like Kicker does. So my question again is how do I measure the power an amp puts out?

I'm in the process of trying to decide between these 2 amps : MTX TE1501D Elite $339 USAMPS MD-2D $319 The car will be a daily driver. The subwoofer will be : RE AUDIO 15" SEX -or- RE AUDIO 15" SX I've heard the MD-2D isnt very clean, but I do love USAMPS from my expierence in the past they are GREAT amps, but for my pricerange these are the 2 amps im looking at. I have no expierence with MTX, so I ask you what is a better amp? What are the Pros and Cons of both. Also would a MD-2N be overkill for a 15" RE SXX? Would an MD-1DN do the job?

Hey guys, I finally found 2 amps that I'm trying to choose between for my 4 SA-10s. I am either going to purchase a used saz 2000 or the saz 3000. I was wondering what kind of electrical is needed to run power one of these 2 beasts. I currently have a DC HO Alt that Is 110/170 idle/max and a kinetik 1400 under the hood with a kinetik 600 in the rear. ( I will also have 0 awg ran from front to back and 0 awg big 3 ). I'm not sure what is needed to keep voltage up with the 2k or 3k? Should this be enough? I'm not sure what most people have these on, I saw a few people say they had stock 90 amp Alts with just 2 large batts so I wasnt sure! Thanks guys!

Hey, guys. I could really use to help. I have a side by side with an audio system consisting of a tiny Bluetooth “head unit” with a strange DIN audio output, a 4 channel amp, 4 6x9s, and a 10” subwoofer. (Made by Pro Box). All this stuff is in the roof of the vehicle. I want to add another subwoofer to the system. How can I add another amp? I’m attaching photos of the head unit, amplifier, and a cable that I think might be my solution but I’m not sure. I believe the mini din wire is the audio output from the head unit and that there are no red and white RCA cables. I could be wrong. I have not torn into the roof enclosure yet. i went ahead and ordered 2 SAZ-1500D's. I had a stock battery but i purchased a Duralast Gold Yellow Top before i started on my system. I got a 200 amp alt coming and i purchased a Kinetik HC1800 to go in the trunk. IS this enough? i wanted to do the big 3 upgrade but i wouldnt know where to start much less what to do. is adding the extra bat and changing the alt enough?

Hey I'm trying to build a system for my 2000 nissan pathfinder...and unfortunately it only has a 90 amp alt, and I don't want to buy a H.O. alt, so how much power can I safely run? I was planning on getting an Arc Audio 1500v1 XXK, which I didn't realize is a class A/B monoblock amp that puts out 1000 watts RMS...so i'm guessing it's not as efficient as a class D of the same power... soo i could do the big 3 upgrade...but is a 1000 watt class A/B monoblock not a good idea for a 90 amp stock alt? thanks for the help

Heres the scoop: I went to put my sub and amp in my car, and was having a hard time getting the box to fit, so I thought I better check everything out to make sure it worked, and the amp keeps going into a protection mode or something. Its a Memphis PR1000.1 I tried to contact the seller because he guaranteed not to be DOA but won't get a return. I guess thats what I get for buying off of ebay But anyways, I was wondering if people could give me some input on which would be a better amp for my Fi Q in a LSQ installation. Kicker ZX1000.1 Sundown SAE-1000D I can get them for about the same price. Any help? Thanks.
